Just watched the first 15 minutes of Up! for the first time. I am a BROKEN WOMAN!! I didn’t think anything could be worse than Disney killing Bambi’s mum, and here it is. Please tell me I’m not the only one?!

I’m quite curious to see these movies now! Perhaps to melt my heart of stone DH! Where can I see Up, Coco and Inside Out?

All of them are on Disney +.

Any animal films are firmly beyond my emotional tolerance, so I always knew to avoid Dumbo, Bambi, War Horse, etc, but Up blindsided me, especially as I was struggling with infertility. I don't think I could watch it again.

@PosyPrettyToes Don't go near Watership Down, the proper original version then. Or Raymond Briggs' 'When the Wind Blows' either.

Oh lol. I was trying to remember the pre-tweaked title, now I recall that Jesus was involved. I'm sure he wouldn't have minded. I bet he loves that opening sequence too.

@ValueAddedTaxonomy Probably! I’ve been here since about the same time! But I’ve had such a shitty and passive aggressive email from MNHQ, accusing me of treating the mods like “feelingless bots” on multiple occasions, which is so untrue that actually I’m done. I have so much stress IRL with a stressful NHS job and a profoundly disabled DC that I don’t need this. If I feel unwelcome I would rather just flounce tbh.

We took the young children we foster to see it on Monday. We had no idea what it was about, our local cinema does cheap deals during holidays. We just knew it was age appropriate.
So off we went with three children whose parents both died from cancer within a few months of each other last year.
Lesson learnt, we will be vetting all films from now on.

Ironically because J was a man I'm probably allowed say awful things about him and his followers. They were all controlling / abusive/ creepy / cocklodgers. MN is cool with that if an entire sex is generalised.
