Happy half term if it's half term for you 🥳

I've just made my first cuppa, and put the washer on. I'm in my kitchen spot with the window open, it's been cooler all week & I cba to venture out with my tea, just to discover it's colder than it looks!

Today's plan for me is craft...the entire day! There's 3 weeks until our Eras date & I'm so excited 🎵 I'm half way through customising t-shirts so will carry on with those & dd2's going to make some more bracelets. Dd1 did say she'd help with the t-shirts while I'm adding rhinestones but whether or not she does remains to be seen 🤷‍♀️. There are a few bracelets I want to re-thread too so I'll maybe get to them. If not then one day this week...

I need an outfit too so will be scrolling Vinted to see what I can find to try. Anything not right can go back on 🙄

I'm not sure what's for tea yet, there's loads in the freezer. I'll look when I next get up to refill my cup.

What about all of you? 🌞

Still in bed, looking forward to my tea and toast.
Hopefully get washing outside today and a nice walk.
Happy Saturday everyone.

ssd · 25/05/2024 09:23

@lucysmam , do you sell all the Eras stuff you are making? I have no clue about all this!

Thislittlekitten · 25/05/2024 09:25

Morning everyone,

Just had my first cup of tea. Hoping DH makes breakfast.

DS was up super early but been happy playing. DD still asleep.
It’s been a long tough week for us all so today we aren’t planning much. General tidy and taking DS to see friends later. I have a few more things to go on vinted.

Thinking a take away for tea tonight. I’m working a long shift tomorrow so early night.

lucysmam · 25/05/2024 09:27

@ssd nah, just for me and the girls. I suppose if someone wanted something I might but doing things on someone else's timetable sort of sucks the fun out of it a bit 😊

Morning @lucysmam and everyone.
I woke early around 6am and got a few chores done - were off to Italy on Monday so wanted to get ahead so I can spend time packing later.
Back in bed now with cappuccino and my book but about to go for a morning walk in 10 mins or so.
Then will make DD2 porridge - she’s still asleep and then go pick up DD1 from a sleepover.
Visit my Dad and then may take DDs to a coffee shop this afternoon.
Back home to packing - need to sort out my toiletries decanting etc and also set up some mini packs of my supplements. This but always takes longer than I think!
Dinner will be burgers ans DH fancied that instead of usual pizza and then think we’ll watch a film.
Nice easy day hopefully.

Happy Saturday and happy half term.

We're just about to go for swimming lessons then we'll pop to the library and have an hour in the park.

Home for lunch and then the older 2 are off for a long bike ride along the canal. It's a bit of an experiment (and it's a good 6 miles!). Myself and little one will stay home.

Washing machine in on the blink again, DP needs to get some tools as we can't open the filter so he'll pop to his dads and fingers crossed fix the machine whilst we are swimming 🙏 (something seems to be stuck in filter so we need pliers to get the bloody filter open!)

I want this washing machine to die as we have issues with it every other month (last time there was a blockage in the hose, the time before that a 20p in the filter, the time before that a stray sock.in filter) I absolutely loath this washing machine.... but we always seem to fix it.

We are heading the my brothers for a BBQ this evening so I'm going to rustle up a coleslaw, a potato salad, a pasta salad and some kind of dessert (I think Eton Mess as its easy to transport!)

Brandnewskytohangyourstarsupon · 25/05/2024 09:29

Got some chores to run then meeting for coffee and cake with an old beloved friend.

Going to strip the beds and get the bedding washed and on the line as it’s glorious here.

Then I’ve got some diy to do.

Im expecting a parcel with my “finishing touches” after decorating and adding new furniture to our snug.
lovely nick nacks so I’m excited to see the end result of that!

All in all relaxing but productive day!

Just went for a jog as trying to stay fit this pregnancy (helps when it's sunny!!). We have no plans whatsoever this weekend as it's been a busy month and will be a busy half term. Maybe go to the park with the kids to make the most of the weather. Also probably lots of tidying the house!! Hope everyone has a good day.

lucysmam · 25/05/2024 09:39

@JMAngel1 I was dreaming about porridge with golden syrup!

What lives you lead. I've had a coffee and an trying to get my four and five year old to match cards that they've tipped all over the floor. It's painful.

frozendaisy · 25/05/2024 09:45

Morning all drinking coffee in between early chores, whites on line hopefully dry by lunchtime.

My day is being dictated to by first FA cup final and then teenagers, dungeons and dragons, anyone want to swop? Open to all offers!

Still the requests were for easy, heat in oven buffet food, result, I just need to hoover house and locate clean bedding (yes this fun involves a sleepover why oh why) and make sure I gave cold espresso for martinis come kick off because I won't get through it otherwise.

Going to put the slack line up though because it's dry see how much of the technique they have lost since last year (it's quite difficult actually to be fair)

Again open to offers happy to represent anyone at a family BBQ!

I'll swop

Good morning! I have been up since 7, the bed is stripped and the washing on the line, the dog’s had a good walk, there’s a chicken in the slow cooker and I have done an hour’s gardening- putting out bedding plants and those I’ve grown on in pots. It’s warm out already!
Just having a cold drink then more gardening.
I’d like to spend the afternoon sitting outside reading, that’s my plan at the moment.

frozendaisy · 25/05/2024 09:50

Actually I'll add putting about 4 loads of clean dry washing away I hate putting it away I can get it clean dry but away is the work of the devil.

frozendaisy · 25/05/2024 09:51

If you kidnap me @lucysmam I'll drink tea and do the t-shirts!

Justonedayatatime11 · 25/05/2024 09:52

Morning @lucysmam.

My day will be spent in bed feeling sorry for myself. Baby pony threw me off onto concrete last Sunday and broke most of my left hand side and a cracking concussion.

DD is at stable club, DH is running around doing all the work and the weather is grim.

Reliably informed it's homemade GF Chinese for tea, which if I manage to eat anywhere other than in bed I'll consider a win!

Stressybetty · 25/05/2024 09:52

Morning, just had a CF guest leave after 4 long nights so me and DH and dogs are enjoying the peace. Had a quick tidy, dishwasher on and back in bed with cuppa. Need to sort washing and possibly do some overtime work from home later.

Decafflatteplease · 25/05/2024 09:53

Morning @lucysmam and all!

So relieved it's half term we are exhausted! Time for a rest and reset.

It's actually not raining for once so Ive got 2 loads of washing on the line.

Slow morning here, aforementioned laundry, lots of tea and toast all round. I've sat with my diary trying to make a list of things we want to get sorted this week

This afternoon we are going to the in-laws and they are taking us out to dinner to this lovely Italian restaurant near them which will be a real treat!

Greenmayleaves · 25/05/2024 09:57

Morning all

I have had a tough week with an illness which Then led to an injury so taking it easy this morning. Although saying that I've already done a load of washing, unloaded the dishwasher, made porridge, swept 2 bedrooms and the bathroom and cleaned down the kitchen following last nights takeaway.

My mission for today is to buy loads of socks for DS 11 as they have all disappeared - AGAIN!

lucysmam · 25/05/2024 09:59

@Spinachandcheese your time for quiet coffee will come 😊 I remember those days well!

@frozendaisy pm your address...I'll find you with the assistance of google maps! I have nice ice cream lollies (these were meant to incentivise the girls! & plenty of tea).

Oh no @Justonedayatatime11 that sounds painful 😥

@Decafflatteplease I could do with sitting down with diary/claendar/phone but haven't quite got there yet...there's always this week!

ShipshapeShore · 25/05/2024 10:37

Tidying, washing and cleaning before we go away (only a caravan in this country, nothing fancy). I don't know why I bother though as our cats will make a mess while we're gone!

I do want to have a quiet half hour with my book later. I've just started A Court of Thorns and Roses after dithering about it for ages. So far so good.

@Justonedayatatime11 I winced reading that, you poor thing. Sending healing thoughts.

SheepAndSword · 25/05/2024 10:44

Had bloods and obs done and now sitting outside in the sunshine. I had to skip breakfast as the medication made my stomach hurt so looking forward to lunch!

gingercat02 · 25/05/2024 10:49

Morning all
Half-term here too, slight breather in the GCSEs but full on revision, still 11 to go.

It's carnival day in our seaside town, so mum and I are off to watch the parade shortly.

I have a wash on, need to do some gardening, online shop coming after lunch, and need to keep half an eye on F1 qualifying and the FA Cup final.

DH and I are out for dinner tonight 😋
