Happy half term if it's half term for you 🥳

I've just made my first cuppa, and put the washer on. I'm in my kitchen spot with the window open, it's been cooler all week & I cba to venture out with my tea, just to discover it's colder than it looks!

Today's plan for me is craft...the entire day! There's 3 weeks until our Eras date & I'm so excited 🎵 I'm half way through customising t-shirts so will carry on with those & dd2's going to make some more bracelets. Dd1 did say she'd help with the t-shirts while I'm adding rhinestones but whether or not she does remains to be seen 🤷‍♀️. There are a few bracelets I want to re-thread too so I'll maybe get to them. If not then one day this week...

I need an outfit too so will be scrolling Vinted to see what I can find to try. Anything not right can go back on 🙄

I'm not sure what's for tea yet, there's loads in the freezer. I'll look when I next get up to refill my cup.

What about all of you? 🌞

Morning @lucysmam and all.
A bit of a sore head this morning after cocktails last night.
My local Parkrun is not on today so did a bit of tourism. Definitely cleared the head and currently on the bus on my way home.
This afternoon I'm meeting some friends for lunch. Wee haven't seen each other for 6 months so really looking forward to that.
Tonight will be a lazy sofa evening.
Enjoy your day everyone.

lucysmam · 25/05/2024 11:02

@FlorencenotRatchet I do like a good cocktail! Current favourite is a mojito🍸 preferably in the sunshine.

Washing out, vern to slimming club, off to cemetery, library and then will relax. Rock and roll. Half term for me. Take care everyone

lucysmam · 25/05/2024 09:27

@ssd nah, just for me and the girls. I suppose if someone wanted something I might but doing things on someone else's timetable sort of sucks the fun out of it a bit 😊

But it sounds like you are making so much, is it just to wear to one concert or are there other things going on around the concert?

The whole TS phenomena has passed me by

Simonjt · 25/05/2024 11:07

Good morning, I’ve been for a run this morning, only a short one as our eight year old decided to come, he didn’t do too badly.

We’re off to the river in a bit to see if there any ducks to feed and we’ll probably come back via the play park. Apart from that absolutely nothing!

devildeepbluesea · 25/05/2024 11:09

Morning! Had a lovely run with the dog earlier, just despatched DD off to see Granny with her dad. I’ll walk the dog again shortly, then I’m off to Day Fever - the club in the afternoon thing, am very excited. After that, if I can be arsed, it’s a silent disco (although I suspect it’ll be train home and freezer food for me!)

lucysmam · 25/05/2024 11:09

@ssd we're making bracelets to trade, I've done my jacket & currently doing t-shirts for travelling, we're decorating sunglasses but someone (ok, it was me!) bought 8 pairs so we'll probably take the spare & give them to other swifties. I'm waiting for patches to arrive for dd2's converse. It's not loads...it's just I've been bitting and bobbing at it for a year, since we booked the tickets!

I love mojitos but they give me a terrible headache so have to avoid.
Love a margarita but very hard to get a decent one.

What lives you lead. I've had a coffee and an trying to get my four and five year old to match cards that they've tipped all over the floor. It's painful.

Im sorry but this made me smile.
We've all been thereGrin

ssd · 25/05/2024 11:13

It sounds a very sociable concert then and a great day out @lucysmam.

When is it?

lucysmam · 25/05/2024 11:15

@ssd from the videos I've seen, it should be! We're going to Liverpool on 15th June - travelling on the Friday after my meds. I think I'm more excited than the girls 🤣

I live in London and been for a walk along both sides of the river from St Katherines to Temple. Did some shopping, grabbed too much junk food for today’s breakfast and lunch - sausage egg McMuffin, Greggs bakes & white choc matcha 😳Now back in bed for a snooze! Bliss

ssd · 25/05/2024 11:26

Aww that sounds brilliant and not long to go now!! And even better if your meds are finished Smile

nicky2512 · 25/05/2024 11:32

@lucysmam dd and I are going to Liverpool on the 15th too - flying from Belfast that morning. We can’t wait! I’m not in the best of health but I’ll manage! Have flown into Liverpool once before but never been into the city so very excited to see it. Hoping everywhere is easy to find.

FizzyStream · 25/05/2024 11:42

Ds1 has been to footy with his Dad and Grandad and his team lost 😞 I stayed home with DS2 caught up with some work and took in the shopping delivery

DH is mowing the grass and I'm about to go for my long overdue hair appt.

DH, two DSs and FIL will be watching the FA cup final while I'm at the hairdresser later and I'm hoping for a takeaway for dinner 🤞🏻

lucysmam · 25/05/2024 11:48

@nicky2512 my health isn't the best either. Hopefully, everything is easy to find & no stress. I've joined a couple of fb groups to ask about getting around by public transport & it does sound like it should be easy 🤞

What are you both wearing?

I'm teen free & heating to the beach with books. Making the most of this sunny weather

daffodilandtulip · 25/05/2024 11:55

It doesn't feel like it's still morning (just!).

A neighbour had a party until 5:30am and then the other neighbour gets us up at that time everyday anyway so I've done loads!

Walked the dog, been to the post office, two loads on the line, dishwasher done and emptied, mowed the lawn, tamed the garden growth, read my book, had numerous coffees in the garden, swept the patio and drive, booked a course.

I'm off work this week so hopefully that means no more jobs to do. Teens haven't been up long, DD is off for her driving lesson soon and DS likes a day or two to decompress in his room at the start of holidays.

DD will be revising this week for A Levels so DS and I will pop out here and there to have/give some peace. Hopefully DD will chill enough to pop out for a treat now and again. Anticipating a strange week!

nicky2512 · 25/05/2024 12:00

@lucysmam Hopefully it will be straightforward. I can’t stand for too long but we got a package which lets us in beforehand to a lounge so hoping that helps.
I was going to ask on her for help with directions nearer the time.

Dd has just finished her finals so outfit hunting is now underway. She will def be looking for a bit of bling. I will be more practical but am making bracelets (slowly).

I can’t actually believe how excited I am! We didn’t think we had a chance for tickets so really appreciated getting them. Couldn’t do Dublin as it was likely to be weekend of dds graduation and didn’t know the date back then.

lucysmam · 25/05/2024 12:19

🤣 I rather dickishly was sat at my table, in the queue for the wrong day, several times. & got kicked when I kept refreshing for cheaper tickets. The ones we have were our last attempt at "I don't really want to go over my limit" 🙈.

I'm on countdown...the girls are still sleeping 🤷‍♀️

nicky2512 · 25/05/2024 13:05

I was extremely lucky. Saw on here that Anfield had released theirs and phoned up before I could think. We generally don’t waste money or do anything overly extravagant but it was a real one off and dd was and still is beside herself. She’s been a real fan forever.
You have got me in the mood now. I’m off to look for a t shirt!

FlyingHorses · 25/05/2024 13:50

Took DS to the lake and fed the ducks (not bread, proper duck food of course)! Now in the garden trying to contort a coat hanger into a huge bubble wand whilst DS pours a bottle of w/u liquid into a bucket. It’ll be worth it when it works 🫧
Then when DH finishes his luxurious Saturday bubble bath, out to find a paddling pool! Hope everyone has a great day.

lucysmam · 25/05/2024 14:11

Happy hunting @nicky2512 ! I'm 2 letters down on one t-shirt. Both girls have visited & buggered off back upstairs 🙄

nicky2512 · 25/05/2024 15:28

@lucysmam haha sure they know that you’ll do a better job if they leave you to it!

Enjoy! The dog and I have gone for a lie down.

Keep us updated and I look forward to hearing about how the 15th goes for you and your girls.

DilemmaDelilah · 25/05/2024 16:08

Good afternoon @lucysmam . I didn't sleep very well last night and had to go for a CT scan this morning so was nil by mouth beforehand and starving! That meant we went for a BIG breakfast around 11.00, and by early afternoon I was flagging so I have just woken up from a nap.
No plans for this evening - it has been a lovely day weather-wise but rain is forecast in about half an hour so we shouldn't have to water the hanging baskets and new planting.
We have a half marathon run coming through our area tomorrow, which will seriously disrupt traffic, so we're not planning on going anywhere tomorrow either. Just a chilled weekend. No kids so no half term for us. We would have liked to go to the beach in the evening next week but it's a holiday area so will be full of other people's children enjoying the nice weather - we will wait until after half term I think.
