I would like Labour, but as we in a strong Conservative area. I mean they could stand a pig and the would get in. I intend to look at the stats for my area and see who is mostly likely to beat the standing Conservative candidate and vote for that party (in other words a strategic vote) as I will take anyone over Conservative and actually want my vote to count for once.

I wouldn’t be so sure. Do you remember a very young Labour MP who won by-election in Nigel Adams’s constituency last year?
I looked up past elections info - it was absolutely safe Tory seat.
Don’t loose hope.

lingmerth · 22/05/2024 23:08

Labour

buffyslayer · 22/05/2024 23:08

My area has been Labour since 2010 so not expecting much change there, think last time by 65%

Angrymum22 · 22/05/2024 23:09

Tory, so that when Labour bring the country to its knees again ( I’m old and remember several Labour governments) I can be smug.
I live in a safe Tory seat so my vote will make no difference.

TooBigForMyBoots · 22/05/2024 23:11

Too late @Angrymum22. We're already on our knees.

I cannot see Angela Rayner on the international stage, she has a mouth like a sewer....Tories are well past their sell by date, so sick of being dictated too...eat this, don't eat that, don't put your heating on unless your lips turn blue, drive electric cars that cost a fortune....climate this, that & the other, what a load of crap...sure the climates changing, it has, everyday, since, whenever, but there's no emergency, just another way of getting more money from us all...the biggest con ever.....

You do realise that the Tories had Boris Johnson (the laughing stock of the world) and Cameron - the man who shagged a dead pigs head as both our foreign secretary and PM. A bit of swearing isn't going to matter. Remember most of the vitriol towards her is classism which doesn't translate on the international stage.

On our knees. Bloody hell I am definitely already on my knees. You must live in a bubble to not have noticed how much poorer most of us are.

Labour - can't wait for the Tory scumbags to be kicked out!

Phrenology · 22/05/2024 23:18

Anyone that believes that women weren’t born with peni.

And if that means Conservative, then so be it,or I have yet to investigate local parties.

I have never voted Conservative in my life.

DontGoJasonWaterfalls · 22/05/2024 23:22

Whoever stands the best chance of keeping our horrendous UKIP candidate out. He's utterly vile and keeps bringing his equally awful 'friends' to the area - we've had Yaxley-Lennon, Farage and Hopkins showing their faces around here recently 🤢 - and sadly, he's very popular among the growing far right. If he becomes our MP, we'll be moving.

I can't even stand the thought of voting Conservative, but if it splits the right wing vote and keeps him out, I'd even do that.

If it was up to me, Labour or Plaid.

I absolutely does not mean Conservative. Check out your local candidate's views. Ask who the leader of the Tory party is going to be when Rishi stands down the day after the GE.

At the moment Penny TWAW Mordaunt is the favourite to succeed him.🤦‍♀️

I agree with with everything you say...l have no idea who to vote for....Labour gives money away like sweets, l feel immigration will get worse, the country will be worse than it is now....remember Gorden Brown sold off all our gold reserves, Tony Blair , how many were killed for weapons of mass destruction ?...Liam Byrne, leaving a note for his successor, 'Good luck, there's no money money left"
I don't believe anything any of them say, that's for all parties. The money wasted by the Tories for the failure of HS2, bringing in the stupid smart motorways, nothing smart about them, at all...the list goes on...
What a sad state of affairs they all are..

Which Labour governments brought the country to its knees?

Jentefieldroamer · 22/05/2024 23:33

Labour

NickMarlow · 22/05/2024 23:38

Labour.

I am concerned about their policies for women, and that they lack a clear manifesto despite the appalling mess the country is in. But our Labour MP is brilliant, does so much for the local area, and is the only viable alternative to the Tories - and too many people are suffering under the current government for me to risk voting for anyone else.

Bushwhacked20 · 22/05/2024 23:45

Whoever has the best chance of kicking these heartless Tory bastards out.

SheerLucks · 23/05/2024 00:21

I'll vote Labour.

I remember the halcyon days of Tony Blair's government in its early days, and the massive disappointment at what became of him.

But I used to work with some quite politically informed people and they were all really impressed with not just what he promised, but what he actually achieved.

Tory voters will of course remind us that he did this by borrowing massively!

dontcryformeargentina · 23/05/2024 00:43

LakeTiticaca · 22/05/2024 19:14

There is no party at the moment that I would be prepared to vote at the moment. We need a strong leader who will listen to the British people and at the moment nobody is

This is how I feel too..

MarjorieDanvers · 23/05/2024 00:45

Labour

Verbena17 · 23/05/2024 00:48

It’s all one party - different coloured ribbons.

I’m secretly wishing someone good and honest (who understands the Magna Carta) as well as our inalienable rights, will announce they’ve formed a new government….something akin to Camelot 😂.

Undecided.
Why is Labour so popular? What is it that you think they will do differently that will change things?
why are people treating this like a two horse race?
Is Angela Rayner really up to the job of Deputy PM??

  1. Yes they are more than up to the job
  2. What they plan to do is on their website
  3. Because it is with FPTTP
  4. Well she might not be likeable to people- but Kier Starmer will be PM and there are alot if other capable people. Why this obsession about AR (I know why - it's to make people think oh I don't like AR I better not vote labour because of the tiny chance she might end up PM)

I'm voting Labour - I want rid of the party of hate, division, inequality and right wing whistle blowing.
