Life is Beautiful

Amazing film, but it upset me very badly for days. I don't think I could face watching it again.

Land and Glory is a good film about the Spanish Civil war. A tear jerker too.

AuntieMarys · 18/05/2024 19:14

Also TV series Secret Army with Bernard Hepton, Belgium Resistance series, and Tenko, civilians in Singapore, interned by the Japanese.

And the fallen Madonna with the big boobies and the cracked jug with the big daisies.

Overthinking22 · 18/05/2024 20:25

Muffin101 · 18/05/2024 20:25

Fury
Dunkirk
1917
Schindler’s list
Hacksaw Ridge
Unbroken
Enemy at the Gates
The imitation game for a different perspective
If you really want to be heartbroken, all quiet on the western front. Outstanding film, just absolutely brutal

BigMandsTattooPortfolio · 18/05/2024 20:29

Downfall

Come and See (this is a tough watch)

therealcookiemonster · 18/05/2024 20:35

Colditz from thé bbc séries with Bernard Hepton, as thé commandant.

I absolutely loved this series as a child and I remember being really upset when it finished.

elQuintoConyo · 19/05/2024 17:10

From Here to Eternity.
Gallipoli - old Mel Gibson film. Devastating.
A Canterbury Tale (1944)
Last of the Mohicans - a different kind of war?
Went the Day Well is utterly heartbreaking.
Dr Strange love - for a little light relief.
