I'm more interested in the cooker, who needs 7 burners?

Once you've lived with 7 burners you will never want to go back!

Well done them for decorating it how 'they' want it. It is only decoration and I have viewed 'neutrally decorated' homes with so many building / costly issues to resolve, that none of this would put me off, it the bones and location of the house were good. I can think of nothing worse than living in a biege / grey bland box. Not my taste, but then not my home.

Brighteyedtriangle · 12/05/2024 09:56

Mixing patterns and textures is such an art form. One I sadly don't have so my house is pretty boring.
I always want to try it and it would end up clashing abit like this house but at least they tried.

Lightfrost · 12/05/2024 09:57

A house that's decorated with colour - so refreshing. I'm sick of wondering if estate agents have taken black and white photos, when actually it's just that whole houses are bloody grey.

SiobhanSharpe · 12/05/2024 09:57

The trouble with lots of rich paint colours and bold patterns on wallpaper is that it can make rooms look smaller.
Apart from that, whatever floats your boat.

Brighteyedtriangle · 12/05/2024 09:59

And I like the front room. I think it works well but would be better the striped paper on one wall and the other on the rest but what do I know 😂

Churchview · 12/05/2024 10:02

Someone's had good fun living there and making it their own. The garden is fab.

Whousestypewritersanyway · 12/05/2024 10:10

So much better than all of the grey/chrome etc. When you buy it you can decorate it to your own taste!

I would love 7 burners. We have a big family and various people with different food preferences / intolerances, 7 burners would be brilliant

Willmafrockfit · 12/05/2024 10:15

that is a nightmare

Willmafrockfit · 12/05/2024 10:17

the decorated ceilings and the room with the pink wardrobe look so claustrophobic

Bluevelvetsofa · 12/05/2024 10:20

You can change the decor easily enough. I’d be more bothered about the downstairs floor plan. The dining area is too far away from the kitchen. You’d need to change the living room and dining room and knock walls down.

Sera1989 · 12/05/2024 10:25

The pink wardrobes are my favourite bit and I quite like the bathroom. Everything else isn't to my taste at all (does one room have leather panels on the wall??) but it looks like the owner tried really hard and maybe fancies themself as a bit of a style guru. I hope they haven't quit their day job!

fatphalange · 12/05/2024 10:25

🙄 everyone has their own tastes. Childish thread.

Mamette · 12/05/2024 10:32

Looks like they have done it exactly to their own tastes, and the garden is obviously a hobby.

I hope they are moving by choice.

Ginmonkeyagain · 12/05/2024 10:37

I love the candy striped wallpaper. Like a Damian Hirst painting.

That would look lovely in a large, otherwise neutrally decorated room - it would really pop.

Me, that's who. 😀

Definitely! You think they're b&w then there's a bathroom with one bright towel and you realise the whole house is grey! Usually accompanied with mirrored furniture to reflect even more of the grey 🙄

LakeSnake · 12/05/2024 11:09

It must be the same person who redecorated the house we currently live in.
each room with really dark colours (blue/green/orange etc….). Took ages and many many coats of paint to hide said colours!

The problem is when you want to sell.
There are a lot of people who can't see past this so won't view.
And a lot that can see past it , also know the hardworking, time and money needed to tone it down, so also won't view.
So you reduce your market.
Yes people will buy and change things, but want something they most or less move into.
Neutral colours give people a blank canvas to work on.
I used ti like house doctor where they'd get a house ready to sell.
The owners were often opposed to the changes initially, but it got the viewers in.

longtompot · 12/05/2024 11:35

I actually quite like the use of maps as wallpaper in I assume is one of the sheds.
The pictures make it look small but it apparently has more square footage than my house and my house doesn't feel small at all.
The mix of patterns in the rooms is a bit ott for my liking, but if the homeowners like it then that's what's important.

shams05 · 12/05/2024 11:38

Someone who lived in a dark and dinky apartment before.
It's a great sized house, atleast the decor is something you can easily change.

shams05 · 12/05/2024 11:40

I wonder why it's so reasonably priced actually.

I like the garden

Image 18 looks like three graves !

NewGreenDuck · 12/05/2024 11:55

I'm afraid that I just thought of the sheer amount of effort that would be needed to strip all the wallpaper off. And, that if I was looking for a home, I would not put this on the list for that reason.
