Now I know that everyone has individual tastes, but what on earth is going on in this house?!! The landing!!

A smurf making a break for freedom.

Overtheatlantic · 12/05/2024 12:03

I think they’ve done a good job of mixing patterns and colours. The house has clearly been loved.

lol! No not planning on buying anything! Just doing my nightly rightmove scroll of things that came on the market with 15 miles! 😆 it's my pre bedtime hobby! And mumsnet... I think I need to get a life! 😆😆

It's my hobby also, or places I want to live. Think mumsnet hq would give us rightmove perverts our own section to share the gems?

Lwrenn · 12/05/2024 12:07

Oh I like the house! Good on them!

Nosleepforthismum · 12/05/2024 12:08

Weirdly love the pink wardrobes 😅 great house and garden for the money.

Enigma52 · 12/05/2024 12:11

In don't know, but that cooker looks a buggar to clean!!

CocoapuffPuff · 12/05/2024 12:12

It's not my style but kudos to them for being themselves and for not painting everything white to sell.

Xyz1234567 · 12/05/2024 12:13

Each to their own. It's nothing that a bit of simple decorating can't cure and I think the garden is beautiful too.

DrJonesIpresume · 12/05/2024 12:14

Nothing that a wallpaper scraper and a few gallons of paint won't change.

I'd rather see something like this than 50 shades of grey.

WhotheHellisEdgar · 12/05/2024 12:18

I quite like it 🤷‍♀️

I love the candy striped wallpaper. Like a Damian Hirst painting.

That would look lovely in a large, otherwise neutrally decorated room - it would really pop.

I thought the striped wall was much more Bridget Riley myself!
I think it looks like the house of someone who loves colour and pattern and had fun decorating it, good on them. So much better than bland grey or beige everywhere. Paint and wallpaper can easily be changed.

Robinni · 12/05/2024 12:23

Somebody who really likes red, orange and that woodland interiors theme that was fashionable a few years back.

You get so much house and garden for that money. There isn’t much to complain about. Would take about £5k to paint/paper and change some of the flooring.

MikeRafone · 12/05/2024 12:28

fair play actually, its obviously how the owners wanted it and good for them rather than following the crowd.

My house is very dull in comparison

MikeRafone · 12/05/2024 12:33

The problem is when you want to sell.
There are a lot of people who can't see past this so won't view.
And a lot that can see past it , also know the hardworking, time and money needed to tone it down, so also won't view.
So you reduce your market.
Yes people will buy and change things, but want something they most or less move into.
Neutral colours give people a blank canvas to work on.
I used ti like house doctor where they'd get a house ready to sell

Its not a problem for someone who wants to buy a home and decorate to their taste though, as you say many people can't see past the colourful interior, others don't want to put in the hard work of changing it - thus the market is reduced and your completion for a bargain is reduced.

I wonder why it's so reasonably priced actually.

Because it’s in a not very nice area of Nottingham, next to a very busy dual carriageway.

Toddlerteaplease · 12/05/2024 13:19

Didn't think it was too bad until I saw the landing! But each to their own!

BusyMummy001 · 12/05/2024 13:28

‘Externally it benefits from off road parking and a garage’… internally it would benefit from a hose-down with white paint.

That will cost thousands of pounds and months of manpower to strip that lot out. Don’t get me wrong, I like some colour rather than totally cream and grey decor but this?!!

I thought as much because in my town you can buy similar houses but they're a bit more expensive. House prices seem really high here in some parts of the north West

ExplosionsOfColour · 12/05/2024 13:39

"Who decorated this house?!!"

I did.

Whatcha tryna say huh?

mondaytosunday · 12/05/2024 13:47

Not too bad. That range though! Whoa!

OutOfTheHouse · 12/05/2024 13:49

Oh. Is that all? A bit bright? I was expecting something done out like a medieval tavern or an Egyptian tomb, not just somewhere with bright wallpaper.

MotherFeministWoman · 12/05/2024 13:49

I love it. I would live in it almost as is. (I would repaint the kitchen and the bedrooms and install a bath)

40andlovelife · 12/05/2024 13:51

I hate these threads. They say a lot about the types of people who are willing to come on and be disparaging about a persons home. A person who could potentially read the comments.

You're all disgraceful, clearly unhappy, nasty little females.

Elebag · 12/05/2024 13:55

Pick a theme and stick to it.

Fire hazard ceiling too. Garden is nice though.

I'm more interested in the cooker, who needs 7 burners?

We inherited a range oven in our house and it has 8 rings.

I like to cook and we are a family of 5 and I wouldn’t be without the double ovens now. The extra rings can def come in handy but I have never used all of them.
