DS1 was duck, quickly followed by car. DS2 was daddy 😒

DS1 - “oooover” hoover. He was obsessed with it. Unfortunately wouldn’t know how to even turn it on now he’s 10!
DS2 - cat
DD (16 months) says mama, hiya, there, Bella (dog) and then points and grunts quite a lot. Not sure what she said first though they all just seemed to happen!

TubeScreamer · 11/05/2024 13:03

ds1 - nay, which was his baby version of no, and he said it a lot after that

ds2 - don’t remember (second child syndrome)

Pterodactyl

DC had delayed speech but went straight to the dinosaurs. Within the space of a couple of weeks they went from no speech to speaking in short sentences so had obviously been absorbing the vocab but unable to use it previously.

"ta"

Eccentricthesnowman · 11/05/2024 15:55

Mama on my Birthday only says ot when really tired and wants her mama, followed by Dada, Hi ya and Nana

Blanketpolicy · 11/05/2024 16:25

first proper word was "shoes"

there a lot of babbling and playing with sounds that could have been taken for words, but when he came out with "shoes" it was the wow - you said a word moment! 2nd word was "mum" (not mummumm sounds) a short and defined "mum" and my heart almost melted hearing it for the first time.
