Not twins, but we used to sieve a lot of time going to the duck pond in the village!

TheNoodlesIncident · 10/05/2024 21:47

"Bus"

He did know what it meant, we used to stand by our garden gate (well, I stood, he was held) and watch the buses go by. Occasionally people would wave at him from the bus, so nice of them.

I tried to interest him in the garden flowers and bees and all things nature, but nope. "Bus!" (He prefers trains and planes these days, but not a lot of change really.)

slaggybumbum · 10/05/2024 22:22

BEnnnnnnnn He copied me shouting for his dad. Then oof when he heard a dog bark.

Bloom15 · 10/05/2024 22:31

Dada - annoying ha

Twinkletwinklelil · 10/05/2024 22:35

It was mummy and sooo unexpected!!!

FriedSprout · 10/05/2024 23:00

We were in the garden and she spotted and named a Bee. 😁

weegiemum · 10/05/2024 23:09

All of mine said "No!" First, little shits!

After a few weeks there was mummy and daddy and cat and for one of them "chicken" (we had chickens at the time so not random!).

But No was pretty obvious!

Sendhelp101 · 10/05/2024 23:19

Iwant2beJessicaFletcher · 10/05/2024 23:28

DC1 - dada
DC2 - my (meant me - as in give it to me, that's mine etc)
DC3 - mama

Librarybooker · 10/05/2024 23:39

DS’s was ‘door’ as in open that door so I can crawl onwards. His first phrase was ‘get door’ same problem 🤣 and the other early one was ‘go out’ whilst standing in the hall with scarf on.

Family legend has it that my bro’s first word was ‘sugar’. One of my parents asked the other to ‘pass the sugar’ and he said ‘cogar’

Imisssleep2 · 11/05/2024 10:46

My son was mama, but still to learn what my daughter's will be as only 4 months, trying my hardest get another mama as primary care giver lol

Keepsmiling2948 · 11/05/2024 10:48

The first word where he understood the context was ‘doggy’ he would point at our and any other dog and say it. He had been saying dadadada and mumumumum for little white before that though but that was just babbles I think.

Cattenberg · 11/05/2024 11:03

I think it was “cat”, but she started saying “dog” and “duck” around the same time. I remember she said “seagull” and “deckchair” before she said “mama”. I don’t think I really needed a name - I was just part of the furniture!

DM was put out that I said “da” before I said “mum”. But 1) “da” was much easier to say and 2) “da” didn’t really mean “Dad”. I used to point at things and say “da” to mean, “look at that” or “I want that”.
