Worked 11 hours.
Walked 15k steps.

Breakfast - protein powder scoop blended with spinach. 150g greek style yogurt.

Lunch - homemade veg soup with light coconut milk. 2 slices lightly buttered granay bread. Tin of tuna in spring water.

Dinner - turkey mince in a wrap with mozzarella and tomato ketchup (work ran late, was meant to be on a baked potato)

Snack - 5 cups of tea, 2 Maryland cookies

Yes I'm bored

Sounds absolutely gross to me. Not in a gluttonous way but who eats a turkey mince wrap with ketchup? 😫

Catsinpartyhats · 06/05/2024 21:28

Haha I agree, I won't be eating it again! I wanted to ty something new, had planned turkey chili in jacket but a work meeting ran on and I was too hungry to cook then.

No fruit? What about water?

It's very light on fruit and vegetables and I would probably have a bit of carbs with breakfast.

Catsinpartyhats · 06/05/2024 22:18

About 1.5 litres of water.

Does spinach and veg soup not count as veg? Soup was onion, carrots, celery, herbs&spices, lime juice.

What did everyone else have? Is my day completely different to what is 'typical'?

Someone will be along shortly to tell you that you're grossly overeating and will weigh more than the statue of liberty if you're not careful and that they survive on a sniff of air and a fart to last them all week. In reality you're grossly under eating.

TealSapphire · 06/05/2024 23:09

Doesn't sound very tasty.

Pattothecatto · 06/05/2024 23:12

Eggs is going to be more filling and nutritious and just as fast once you’ve fired up/washed the blender. No need for protein powder.

not enough fats. Not enough diversity of fruit and veg. Vitamin c rich berries and cruciferous veg is best.

with similar ingredients, would have had:

three eggs with butter. Scramble your spinach in.

a big portion of soup and the tuna with some crudités instead

your dinner doesn’t sound great- I would have made a keema curry with turkey mince, some frozen chopped onion, peas and spices. Takes less than 10 minutes.

MrJollyLivesNextDoor · 06/05/2024 23:16

No white bread toast for breakfast
No red wine
No revels

No point

NuffSaidSam · 06/05/2024 23:23

TealSapphire · 06/05/2024 23:09

Doesn't sound very tasty.

This is what I thought.

Are you in prison OP?

DrJonesIpresume · 06/05/2024 23:24

You need to eat more veg. A lot more. Greens, root veg, salad, whatever. Eat fruit as a snack instead of the biscuits, such as a banana, grapes or an apple. Your insides need to have more to be getting on with. Maybe more whole grains such as brown rice as well.

AutumnCrow · 06/05/2024 23:30

Let's face it, OP, the spinach and the vegetables in your homemade vegetable soup aren't real MN vegetables. They are the invisible, ephemeral opening-post-vegetables that no-one sees.

mondaytosunday · 06/05/2024 23:39

Dinner sounds a bit grim. But the other two sound yummy!

PickAChew · 06/05/2024 23:40

I can understand the rushed dinner under the circumstances but bleurgh! You should be aiming for at least a pound of veg through the day.

I'm not on any particular health kick so not trying to refine or restrict but I do aim for lots of veg. Today for me was

Granola (about half gluten free and half grain free) with a little lactofree milk, coconut "gut health" yog a banana and a large mug of coffee

Hot dog (left over from Ds2's birthday) beetroot, spinach and a slice of seeded GF bread. 2 GF digestives.

I actually had turkey mince for dinner but in a stew with veg, tomatoes and cannellini beans (I don't often have the time or energy to cook dinner from scratch). Served with a small jacket potato and roasted asparagus.

Have just washed a bowl of salted crisps down with a couple of voddy and cokes 😆

IwishIdidntlikesugar · 06/05/2024 23:41

It sounds like you dont eat much.

HeddaGarbled · 06/05/2024 23:42

It doesn’t sound very enjoyable. Protein powder scoop with spinach 😟

Growlybear83 · 06/05/2024 23:43

It sounds fairly horrible to me, and I would be starving.

TheChosenTwo · 06/05/2024 23:44

Other than none of it sounding remotely
appealing (to me!!) it seems fine.
Today I had 2 fried eggs and some roasted spiced kale after my swim, ate that at about midday, at 3 I had some nuts then at 7 had some roast chicken and veg.
Other than the swim I had a fairly sedentary day so didn’t feel like I needed much.
My days vary really depending on my level of activity, some days I do a lot and I eat accordingly and days like today I do less and need less fuel.

Shiningout · 06/05/2024 23:46

Doesn't sound like enough calories or even nice food tbh

CuriousGeorge80 · 06/05/2024 23:47

I read posts like this and feel like I’ve entered an alternate reality!

BoudiccaOfSuburbia · 06/05/2024 23:49

I would think you would be losing weight on that consumption and activity.

But it sounds unappetising and lacking in fresh fruit and veg.

LuciferRising · 06/05/2024 23:49

Sounds fine. I'd do similar.

Protein shake blended with a banana, chia and linseed. Or I'd just add them to the Greek yoghurt and eat that.

Homemade veggie soup with added red lentils. I'd serve topped with pumpkin seeds and have a few slices of bread. I don't do well without starchy carbs.

The wrap would be blackbeans, peppers, onions, a few spices, rocket. May have two. Maybe a corn on the cob.

Snack on an apple, boiled eggs and babybel.

HeddaGarbled · 06/05/2024 23:49

What did everyone else have

Breakfast: orange juice and coffee
Lunch: ham salad
Dinner: roast chicken dinner

No snacks, lots of water and tea, glass of wine in the evening

Neveralonewithaclone · 06/05/2024 23:51

I had a mug of fruit and fibre cereal with soy milk and a slice of wholemeal toast with jam (no butter) for breakfast

For dinner a side dish of aloo sag, half a peshwari nan, two poppadoms with chutney.

Mug of low fat plain yoghurt with honey

An orange

I use mugs as portion control

MrsSkylerWhite · 06/05/2024 23:54

Your breakfast, in particular, sounds horrible. What’s wrong with scrambled eggs, tomatoes and mushrooms?

Lunch: reasonable, dinner: yuk.

You need more fruit and veg.
