Worked 11 hours.
Walked 15k steps.

Breakfast - protein powder scoop blended with spinach. 150g greek style yogurt.

Lunch - homemade veg soup with light coconut milk. 2 slices lightly buttered granay bread. Tin of tuna in spring water.

Dinner - turkey mince in a wrap with mozzarella and tomato ketchup (work ran late, was meant to be on a baked potato)

Snack - 5 cups of tea, 2 Maryland cookies

Yes I'm bored

My vegetable soupy stew stuff soup is made with tinned tomatoes, mushrooms, red and yellow peppers, green jalapeno peppers, black olives, herbs, and any fresh tomatoes, bits of aubergine, courgette, broccolli and green beans knocking about, and other random plant remnants. Lots of black pepper, bit of salt, a splash of balsamic vinegar or red wine.

It's actually pretty good with rice and cheese or tuna. Can easily be made vegetarian, gluten-free and low FODMAP.

Are you trying to lose weight?

A bit light on fruit & veg. I'd maybe try to replace the biscuits with fruit, nuts etc. Could also replace mince with less processed meat (diced etc).

Mince is just meat chopped very small. Nothing added to it.

OP had a tin of tuna in spring water alongside soup...maybe I'm crackers but that sounds so far from reasonable!😂

A tin of tuna is actually a really good way to get protien with few calories. Why is that weird? I have one on top of a salad leaves or with a few tomatoes.

WhiteLily1 · 07/05/2024 12:58

Not sure why people arnt counting home made veg soup as veg. It’s literally veg. Bonkers.
I would drop the protien shake stuff. Pure crap.
Also IMO wheat= bad and UPF so bread and wrap are out for me.
Would replace those with salad, veg and eggs or more fish / chicken or cheese.
Snacks could be unprocessed nuts, seeds or berries rather than biscuits. Or a couple of dates if a sugar hit needed.

Lunch sounds ok, otherwise very bland and not much fruit and veg?

Catsinpartyhats · 07/05/2024 15:08

Protein smoothie was because I am aiming for +100g of protein a day and it's quick and easy. Not much of a breakfast person. It was blended with about 100g of spinach, which brings down the sweetness.

I'm 170cm and about 68kg at the minute. Have lost about 10kg since last September. Would like to lose 3-5kg more.

Today was morning gym session, protein and spinach smoothie, work, cheese baguette for lunch with an apple.

Tomorrow is
B - Yogurt and green smoothie
L - cheese baguette, granny smith apple
D - homemade chicken and broccoli bake with homemade wedges
S - tub of cottage cheese (i actually like this)

This menu sounds a hell of a lot nicer than the one in the first post! Although personally I don't love cottage cheese.

ROFL at the sheer number of posters insisting that yesterday's one didn't have enough veg in the vegetable soup and wailing about the two biscuits.

I'm tend to think that mince usually contains the fattier part of whatever type of meat it is. I guess with turkey maybe that's less of an issue though compared to beef, pork or lamb.

In the UK the % fat on mince is usually stated therefore I don't think this is a concern.

Pickingmyselfup · 07/05/2024 16:30

Breakfast and lunch sound normal. Yoghurt is good, spinach is good, vegetable soup good and you had brown bread.

Your dinner seems a bit cobbled together but you were busy, it happens.

5 cups of tea I think is fairly within the realms of normal and if you didn't put sugar in and only a splash of milk it won't add up to much anyway.

Cookies...well everyone needs a pick me up and 2 small cookies is perfect for that.

Today I've eaten porridge with berries, seeds, raisins, 2 coffees, a small pack of sushi, homemade chicken bites (half a chicken breast cut up covered in salt, pepper and garlic powder and airfried) and a banana. I'm having pasta later made with turkey mince, chopped tomatoes and peppers.

Total steps so far 25,000 ish with another 1000 maybe for my run and a bit more from general pootling about doing jobs.

By contrast on Sunday I did nothing in the way of exercise, spent a lot of the afternoon sunbathing and drinking wine then went out for dinner, had a huge burger and more wine. If I did that every day I would be really unhealthy but if I never enjoyed myself I would be miserable.

Catsinpartyhats · 07/05/2024 16:48

25000 steps already!
