Most loved adverts?

Following on from the current 'most hated adverts' thread, which adverts are people secretly enjoying?

(probably more fun to talk about hated adverts but presumably some of us like them otherwise the advertising execs wouldn't produce them?)

I quite like 'you think you've got grief but I'm running out of briefs'

OP posts:

The Twix one with the bears.

Mochudubh · 04/05/2024 20:12

And the Woodsman Whisky one with the beavers.

The Twix one with the bears.

This. I usually fast forward through ads where I can (record using my dvr). I’ll rewind for this one.

Follow the Bear - Heineken
Shake your Bad Ass - Renault Clio
The love one - coca cola (can't remember the words) - very 70s
PG Tips - the chimps - outrageous nowadays.
Anthony Head in the Nescafe Adverts
The Lady loves Milktray
Cinzano with Lorraine Chase

RosesAndHellebores · 04/05/2024 20:17

Oh and Fox's Glacier Mints.

Leafalotta · 04/05/2024 20:17

Nothing Beats A Londoner, and i'm not even from London.

Avanti West Coast Travel with the tortoise on skates .
Love the cheeky little smug look before he goes into the tunnel

KnitnNatterAuntie · 04/05/2024 20:37

A very long time ago there was a really cute one where a bunny rabbit used a marshmallow as a pillow . . . the caption was "Every one's a fluffy one"

This was greatly enjoyed by the toddlers in our family and my DM!!!!

VeraForever · 04/05/2024 20:41

🎼"Beer at home means Davenports
Lots of beer
Lots of cheer..."

I still know all the lyrics from the 60s/70s. You need to have lived in the West Mids/Black Country to remember this.

BouleDeSuif · 04/05/2024 20:46

I used to love the Birds Eye frozen peas with the bear.
I like the Twix one and I quite like Daisy Daisy, they look so young and happy and it makes me smile.

PriscillaPresssley · 04/05/2024 20:51

I lived the one where the elephant wallops the man with its trunk because he teased him with a Rollo

Can't remember the tag line, something like " who would you give your last rolo"

PriscillaPresssley · 04/05/2024 20:52

Oh and the kit kat one where Elvis says he was just taking a break

Deipara · 04/05/2024 20:52

Jaffa cake one....full moon...half moon. It was her voice I loved

KnitnNatterAuntie · 04/05/2024 20:53

The gravy adverts with Lynda Bellingham were always lovely , , ,

RosesAndHellebores · 04/05/2024 20:53

Katie and Bisto. Claire Bellingham?
The Fairy Liquid ones
Does anyone remember the two dozy girls and Philly?

MrsCherryCrest · 04/05/2024 20:54

The Cadbury’s advert with the gorilla playing the drums to Phil Collins ‘in the air tonight’

JovialNickname · 04/05/2024 20:55

I like the current Tails.com one because I like the song.

I hate and am allergic to dogs though, so the visual of thousands of labradors running towards the camera is the stuff of nightmares for me

Bananadramallamas · 04/05/2024 20:59

I like the current Cadbury one, little girl buying chocolate for her mum, pays with buttons and gets her unicorn back as change. Those serious little eyes, so cute.

KnitnNatterAuntie · 04/05/2024 20:59

Shortly after sanitary products were advertised for the first time, my sister had an embarrassing incident whilst shopping in the supermarket with her small children . . . . as she dropped a packet into her trolley, the shrill voice of my DN echoed around the store "You need the ones with WINGS, Mummy!"

This one,or the Cravendale cats with thumbs.
And the Barclaycard waterslide one.

LaMarschallin · 04/05/2024 21:03

I really liked the "Nice car" one - thought it was so sweet that the man who owned the car was fantasising about his own wife/partner.
Unfortunately it was rubbish for actually advertising the car, at least to me, as I had no idea what make/model it was until looking it up just now:

There was a Pets at Home ad with the song Anything For Love that I used to love.

Youllnevergetabetterbitofbutteronyourknife · 04/05/2024 21:08

The OXO adverts
Accrington Stanley- "who are they?" (can't remember what it was advertising)
Country Life butter (hence my username)
Nescafe Gold Blend
Yellow Pages J R Hartley
British Telecom Ology
So many more. 80's adverts were the best!
