I'm learning lots today.
And I don't like any of it. Robins. Wrens. 🐞
Next thing you'll all be telling me, is my new kitten will probably bite me!

If it does, it'll probably hurt less than a less unusual breed at 9 weeks.

Never mind puppies entering their land shark phase, kittens are stabby, slashy, pointy little bastards on all corners and in the middle. And then the evil twats compound their evil by making you go all gooey inside when you look at them when they're sleeping and deliberately pretending to be a crying human baby to make you want to protect, feed and clean the trail of destruction, shit and puddles of puke up for them. Being a cat servant is an abusive, coercive relationship.

True. But we accept this as the cat tax. The price we pay for the privilege.

I was once given the side eye by a particularly sinister looking squirrel... I was quite disappointed too, so I feel you OP! I think a lot of the wildlife we once held dear are becoming wrong uns... My idyllic little child like brain is being cracked apart with the horror of reality now. I need a lie down and a G and T!

SnowFrogJelly · 03/05/2024 01:13

Hope it wasn't poisonous 😬

They were recorded as bitey little things when the UK had a plague of them. Was it in the 70s?

Yes it was. Perhaps they were thirsty so were drinking our blood 🤔
The hot summer of 1976 saw swarms of ladybirds infesting towns and cities across the UK, with many people reporting being bitten by them.

You can report a ladybird bite?!

How very MN. Call 101 and log it, OP!

When they get cross they ooze yellow goo from their knees #actualfact

I know they ooze yellow stuff, but... from their knees? I always assumed it was from their arses. Though to be fair, I'm no expert on ladybird anatomy.

I hope you make it through the night, OP.

Littledidsheknow · 03/05/2024 02:25

I’m not surprised. I find ladybirds absolutely repulsive. Those colours just look toxic. And they STINK!

I hope you squashed the loathsome little fucker.

CarrieMoonbeams · 03/05/2024 02:44

Oh my, @DontPlayInMySandbox , you poor soul, just when you thought it was safe to go back in the garden!

I'm very glad that I found this safe space though, because I was handing in some shopping to my neighbour earlier and her budgie gave me a Hard Stare. Sideways head and everything 😔

We will get through this.

That made me snort! I can picture the squirrels face 😂

Side eye by a squirrel 😂

Thank you everyone. I made it through the night. I will move on from this experience and not let it make me bitter.

And no, I didn't squash it.
