Prawn for myself

Blimey. I seem quite easy to please compared to a lot of posters.

Tomatoes don't make a sandwich soggy if you spread butter or other spread on the bread first.

DilemmaDelilah · 01/05/2024 18:50

I can't stand tomatoes in a bought sandwich because they don't taste of tomato. Fresh, proper tomatoey tomatoes in a sandwich with just butter and a sprinkling of salt are the food of the gods.

Absurdgiraffe · 01/05/2024 18:52

Brain.

SammyScrounge · 01/05/2024 21:18

Egg😫

bryceQ · 01/05/2024 21:18

I couldn't eat egg if you paid me... Yuk

CheeseSandwichRiskAssessment · 27/05/2024 15:53

Egg 😭

Ignoring anything with tomato, as I don't like it, then anything with cheese would be a sandwich I would only buy if it was the last one left on the shelf.

I don't mind cheese on a pizza or on top of lasagne or something but a cheese sandwich? No thanks!

Are you me? I am exactly the same with cheese and tomatoes. Like melted cheese and tomato based sauces but not on their own. Beef paste or luncheon meat would be one I would hate too.

Westfacing · 27/05/2024 15:57

Corned beef
Tongue
Meat pie (I saw that once on a MN thread!)

BCBird · 27/05/2024 16:00

Cold egg or anything with Marmite🙄

TheFireflies · 27/05/2024 16:31

Prawn 🤢

also any pre-packaged chicken sandwich, the chicken is usually rubbery and gross.

AffIt · 27/05/2024 16:50

Cheese.

I don't dislike cheese - in fact, I like it a lot in a variety of settings - but I would have to be genuinely starving before the concept of 'here's a slice of mousetrap between two bits of bread' became an attractive one.

ALongHardWinter · 27/05/2024 17:04

Amazed at the number of prawn haters on here! I love prawns, but in a sandwich they have to be in Marie Rose sauce, not mayonnaise. My least favourite sandwich is anything with ham in as I can't stand the stuff. This is the reason I stopped reserving the Magic Bags on the Too Good to Go app from Gregg's, because every bloody time I would be palmed off with ham sandwiches or ham baguettes!

RampantIvy · 27/05/2024 17:06

Anything with beetroot in.
I love prawns BTW.

JustGotToKeepOnKeepingOn · 27/05/2024 17:37

Coronation chicken 🤮

mamakoukla · 27/05/2024 17:39

Anything prawn

InNeedOfAWin · 27/05/2024 17:40

Shit.

i don’t know anyone who likes a shit sandwich.

BeyondMyWits · 27/05/2024 17:42

That weird cheesy, oniony, mayo goop that smells like sweat.
I picked up a triangle quarter at a buffet once thinking it was egg, and almost gagged.

BoudiccaOfSuburbia · 27/05/2024 17:42

Peanut butter
Chip butty

iAmBarbara · 27/05/2024 17:43

I’m going to sound like a knob, but cheap reformed wet ham!
I do like expensive ham with salad and mayo in brown bread (delicious!) but it’s pricy so can’t afford to but it often. I’d rather go without than have the plasticky questionable cheap stuff!

WeAllHaveWings · 27/05/2024 17:52

Anything with english mustard or horseradish

Cheese - I love cheddar in many ways - baked potatoes, toasted cheese, in a salad, pasta, on crackers etc, but the texture and taste of cheese sandwich is horrible.

Littletinytarzanswingingfromanosehair · 27/05/2024 18:02

Best - crisps
Worst - egg
Falafel - always so dryas a filler

My grandad was a manual labourer. He always went to work with a lard sandwich in his lunchbox. Bleurgh!

So did my dad but I'm not sure he really got much choice. There wasn't much money around

Lila878 · 27/05/2024 18:11

Corned beef

SapatSea · 27/05/2024 18:12

Sweet potato and hummus in floppy wholewheat sliced bread- vegan option at a work event - eww.

DamnitImTired · 27/05/2024 18:15

Give me a bacon and banana sandwich any day…

keep the tomatoes FAR away from my bread. Ugh. Also something’s are ok on a sandwich but not in a toastie. Like lettuce and avo. Something’s just shouldn’t be served warm.
