US hand soap came out foaming and I want some.

Visited the states a few years back with DD and we've just been reminiscing abut how we both loved this one minor thing:
The seemingly bog standard liquid hand soap in the loo at a house party we were invited to came out as lather. Foam. I think it was palmolive or nivea, a fairly large pump bottle.
It was a lush feeling and we want some. Preferably as shower gel too.

Is it a mechanical thing with the actual pump or is it a different formula of soap? Can we get some in the UK?
Many thanks in advance.

We use it, just Google foam hand soap. Lots available method cleaning does a good one. I know what you mean, I only like foam shower gel, as do my kids.

Try Bath and Body Works! They have a foaming soap. You can buy it on Next now.

Imperial leather for shower

Definitely a thing in the UK. My DS used foaming soap at nursery and he's Year 6 now.

Theyweretheworstoftimes · 29/04/2024 20:46

Bath and body works foaming hand soap. You can buy it via next in the uk. Or at Westfield White City I think.

VanellopeVonSchweetz99 · 29/04/2024 20:46

I googled but lost my nerve, because they are all foaming-ish once you rub, right?

We bought a couple of soap pumps on Amazon that turn any handsoap into foam.

GoBackToPartyCity · 29/04/2024 20:47

The bath and body works ones come out as actual foam.

MrsTerryPratchett · 29/04/2024 20:47

Top tip, once you get the foaming bottle, you can turn any hand soap into foaming by seriously diluting it and putting it in the same bottle.

GlobalCitz · 29/04/2024 20:47

These ones.

We've had them for years. You just need to add a few drops of water to any handsoap

VanellopeVonSchweetz99 · 29/04/2024 20:48

@GlobalCitz thank you! I don't suppose you might have the link please? Love a recommendation.

I am just back from Japan and brought home some bottles of foaming hand soap where the foam comes out in the shape of a paw print.

Essential stuff that.

Garlicked · 29/04/2024 20:49

It is the mechanism, if you're interested. The plunger thingy has a spiral thread, so it whips the product up a bit on its way out. You can buy them cheaply - "foaming pump dispenser" or something like that - but some of them might be too weak to smoosh handwash. Now you've got brand names, buy one with a spiral dispenser installed by the manufacturer 🙂

Method in the bottles shaped like this

US hand soap came out foaming and I want some.

'Bath and body works' do quite a few that come out foamy. I received a gift from a friend who was visiting from Chicago, she introduced me to the foamy hand wash, it smelt like a summer holiday.

PurpleBugz · 29/04/2024 20:54

Another vote for method

Yes. I used to be a childminder and did this with it as it was much easier for the children to use.

MissCherryCakeyBun · 29/04/2024 20:58

@MaraScottie I desperately want a paw one

SugarMiceInTheRain · 29/04/2024 20:58

Yep, we like the method ones, you have to get the right shape bottle as the teardrop/ pear shaped bottles don't have the foaming pump. Then once I've finished it, I refill with diluted cheaper soap.

OliveTheaBough · 29/04/2024 20:59

I hear you, I bought some after a holiday in America - it’s a little thing that brings me a little joy.

VanellopeVonSchweetz99 · 29/04/2024 20:59

We quite like the Dove with som moisturizer in, will it still work?
