US hand soap came out foaming and I want some.

Visited the states a few years back with DD and we've just been reminiscing abut how we both loved this one minor thing:
The seemingly bog standard liquid hand soap in the loo at a house party we were invited to came out as lather. Foam. I think it was palmolive or nivea, a fairly large pump bottle.
It was a lush feeling and we want some. Preferably as shower gel too.

Is it a mechanical thing with the actual pump or is it a different formula of soap? Can we get some in the UK?
Many thanks in advance.

We quite like the Dove with som moisturizer in, will it still work?

Every hand soap we've tried has worked. Some are quite thick and we had to add some water, but all worked.

They also last a lot longer, so you can splurge on something special if you feel like it

If you also wish to be sustainable, Smol now do a nice foaming handwash. You keep the same bottle and they send you little blue tablets by way of refills. Can also recommend Smol dishwasher tablets, cleaning spray, fabric cleaner, stain remover and washing up liquid - but found their biological washing tabs hopeless so have given up on those.

Method but not all of them foam, you have to make sure it says foam

@MaraScottie and @MissCherryCakeyBun paw patrol hand soap. Home bargains. Kids love it

hjrl · 29/04/2024 21:19

And on that note they go nuts for a pink tin crazy foam soap, usually semi chem, can even throw it

Kpo58 · 29/04/2024 21:25

The HiPP Kids Soft & Foamy Handwash Duck comes out foamy and can be found in most baby isles of supermarkets (that's assuming you don't want a grown up looking soap dispenser).

I am just back from Japan and brought home some bottles of foaming hand soap where the foam comes out in the shape of a paw print.

Essential stuff that.

Please post a photo of foamy paw

This is super next level soaping it would be gone, with virtually no hand washing, in minutes in this house

I have one from USA that does it as Mickey Mouse heads!

FanSpamTastic · 29/04/2024 22:00

Neat make lovely foaming hand soap here.

fashionqueen1183 · 29/04/2024 22:03

We have the pink method one.

That does not surprise me a Japanese one does that. Sounds fun!

My local leisure centre also has foaming soap 🤣 I think its quite common!

eurochick · 29/04/2024 22:05

We get the method one and then refill with raindrop refills to save plastic. The raindrop bottles are rubbish.

SmallFY · 29/04/2024 22:14

Yep we have the Mickey Mouse head foam bottles (although now want paw prints!) and either refill with the method stuff or with watered down carex/similar. ☺️

PenelopeTitsdrop1990 · 29/04/2024 22:15

Bath and body works do a foaming hand wash. I order from Next online. They smell gorgeous too and last ages.

Ponderingwindow · 29/04/2024 22:16

It is mechanical. You can buy the empty foaming hand soap bottles on Amazon. Then fill with the watered down hand soap of your choice. I buy a 2 liter bottle and it lasts forever.

haggisaggis · 29/04/2024 22:17

Sainsbury’s sell Method foaming soap. (When we used to holiday in US and the exchange rate was better we always stocked up with foaming soap before coming home)

Isabelle70 · 29/04/2024 22:22

I have a foaming soap dispenser with a Disney print on it. It's run out but I didn't want to chuck it in the recycling so will try the watered down hand soap.

BertieBotts · 29/04/2024 22:22

There is a Paw Patrol one which makes a paw. You can buy it in Germany so I'm sure it must be for sale in the UK? It is overpriced IMO.

Ohnobackagain · 29/04/2024 22:58

@VanellopeVonSchweetz99 think most of
them will foam in the right kind of pump if not too thick. The foaming pumps have a slightly thicker tube and draw a little air in as the pump
is pressed. My two Boots foaming face washes have a top that unscrews so I fill them with other stuff and I think the nozzle is fatter too.

And googling found me the exact same type of bottle on Amazon!

Years ago I had a dispenser from Pampered chef. The dilution was huge - it quite put me off foaming soaps as I realised how little soap you were getting for your money!
I do like some of the Bath & Body works ones though.

VanellopeVonSchweetz99 · 29/04/2024 23:30

Thank you SO much all!
I love Mumsnet.

Bath and body works in the Trafford centre is an American company recently launched here. We used their products in Florida and loved the foaming hand wash dispenser and it comes with a cover too.
You can get a limited range from Next too. 🥰🥰🥰

Damn you! I just bought £28 worth of stuff that I'd normally have paid £4 for 😳

Fintoo · 30/04/2024 03:12

Imperial Leather foamburst showergel is really good. I used Dove shower gel for years, but since they changed to the vegan formula it doesn’t lather any more and leaves a slightly greasy residue on my skin. I went through loads of different brands looking for something that lathers well.

The foamburst stuff is awesome, you only need a little squirt and it really foams up. It’s really quick, makes me feel very clean and my skin is noticeably softer.

EleanorYoung · 30/04/2024 03:22

It’s actually quite cost effective. Once you’ve bought the first bottle you can refill with any liquid soap, and we water it down considerably. Kids love it and use a lot less soap so it’s easier to rinse off too. When they were little we called it Santa Soap

mathanxiety · 30/04/2024 04:00

I buy it at the local Dollar Store :-)
