Neighbours at it in full view

As the title suggests, there I am around 10pm last night doing the washing up and they are at it right up at the kitchen window (no curtains) in full view of me and at least 5 other flats (plus around 10 more with full/partial view of them). Girl notices me looking in disbelief and ducks down randomly in a not very effective way, still at it, both realise they are in full view and continue. I make a ‘what the heck?’ Hand gesture and they somehow back out of the kitchen and continue in the living room up at the window, again giving a good view as the curtain does not reach the windowsill at all so a good view is still on offer to all plus more flats/passersby now. Wondering what i might do now when i see one of them in their kitchen again…

Yeah? So what about the bloke having a wank? In his own home and all that up against the window where Op us washing up. Or the foursome. Or the weird toys.

Neighbours need to buy the blinds. Same as using headphones on trains so oeopke don't have to listen to your phone . Just good manners.

newfriend05 · 29/04/2024 00:10

@Marchintospring .. as I said " tell them they need blinds " this is not about a man wanking at a window .. that is a very different scenario

ifeelgood · 29/04/2024 00:11

We had a young male in the house opposite who would masturbate. Unfortunately this was in their bedroom directly opposite my child's!!!!

NoisySnail · 29/04/2024 01:52

If it happens again just hold up a phone as if you are filming it. Once they clock you might be filming them it should stop.

I would have contacted the police if he was doing this so he could be seen.

Film them and sell the footage to a porn site 😉
How long did he last? (Asking for a friend) 🤣

I know you are joking 😁, but that is illegal and could be jailed for it

Im glad to see the sensible people have finally joined. It’s the same management for us so I will definitely contact them if it happens again. I wont be closing my blinds or ‘not looking’ if it happens again. I was gobsmacked to see it in the first place and even more surprised when they just carried on. I did actually write a large warning note and left it up till late morning (other neighbours are probably wondering what happened!) It isnt something anyone needs to see and it’s perfectly possible that a child/teen could have seen. I think im only able to be calm about it because of the ridiculous attempts to half duck down, back out then face pressed up against the living room window as he hammered away made it just silly.

What did your sign say?

Why is it different?

TwoLeftSocksWithHoles · 29/04/2024 06:56

Lucky you, I have to stand on a chair and really crane my neck out of the window, and even then I can't be guaranteed seeing the whole event.

(I fell off the chair once at a critical moment, broke the camera and everything 😞)

DatingDinosaur · 29/04/2024 07:18

I'd have probably done the biggest grin and given them a thumbs up.

Next time I saw either of them I'd have said "well that was better than watching TV" and made a bit of a joke about it.

I might, if I was feeling particularly naughty, say "don't worry, I've erased it off my ring doorbell footage" said with a wink and a smile.

DatingDinosaur · 29/04/2024 07:19

If I was one of them, next time I saw you, I'd ask if there were any particular positions you'd like to see us try.

I used to have a neighbour who did this and he hoped to be seen. 🤢
If you were in the garden you'd sometimes see it going on and he'd be looking out of the window to spot an audience and smirk and increase his <erm> 'sex god' body language. 🤮
Any attention just fed the performance so I'd just disappear asap. What a shit he was.

Had they vanished I could almost have chalked it up to in the moment /one off. The fact they moved to another window sounds more like exhibitionism at best and quite frankly vile behaviour in an area surrounded by close neighbours including children.

theduchessofspork · 29/04/2024 07:38

Drop a note over saying stop shagging with the curtains open it’s grim

And otherwise close your curtains or go do something else

It’s not like it’s a 24/7 knocking shop

Vettrianofan · 29/04/2024 07:43

Grab the popcorn. 😉

newnamechange98 · 29/04/2024 07:48

I don't understand why the OP should be expected to change her behaviour, what the neighbours are doing is disgusting, some posters are being ridiculous. If it becomes a habit I would say it is worth dropping a note round or even calling police.

What's a large warning note?

SweatyRubble · 29/04/2024 07:53

What did the note say?

CharlotteBog · 29/04/2024 08:06

I don't have a blind or curtains at my kitchen window. I don't need one. I can see a few windows but like the majority of people they don't do anti social or inappropriate things in view of others.

Unless they are imprisoned in a suspended glass box how does it “being their own home” justify their behaviour?

Freakinfraser · 29/04/2024 08:26

I always laugh at these posters who come on and say look away, like it’s ok to shag in full view of others or be naked at your windows. 😂😂😂😂

just ignore em op.

however I’m not sure there is much you can do. They knew they could be seen and made a futile attempt to move. Ultimately if it becomes a regular occurrence you can call the police, who will speak to them and make them stop.

The OP was washing up. A task that doesn't involve staring out of a window which has no view. When I'm washing up I tend to be looking at what I'm cleaning.

Wow there are a lot of cool people on here!

They’re probably only cool when they are on here.
