How many cousins have you got and do you see them/keep in touch?

I have seven cousins. I see one occasionally via another family member. Other than that, I seem to have lost touch with them apart from a Facebook happy birthday message! I used to enjoy big family get togethers but there haven’t been any in recent years. Do you see your cousins regularly?

I only have one cousin.

We’re on each other’s Facebook but haven’t seen them in years. No animosity, but we’ve never been close, have little in common and don’t live that near each other.

I have six living (one deceased) on my mother's side. My father was an only child. I stay in touch with them, but we are not especially close, except for one who lives near me and see fairly often.

My siblings and I have 6 cousins. 3 of them we see, 2 of them we don't. 1 I've never met due to estrangement. Although I'd love to!

Around 30 (mostly from my mum's side as she was the last of 6 children). Of those I am in regular contact with 6 all of which are from my dad's side. I have no idea about the lives of those on my mum's side.

3 and I’ve not seen them or spoken to them for over 30 yrs nor am I friends with them on SM .

I have 14 cousins ranging from age 16 - 42. There are 5 I am close with and see regularly. I’m the older end of the range and they are the younger end of the scale. The others I rarely see.

17 cousins. Most of them live fairly nearby but I don't really see them except at funerals. I do have most of them on FB and have a good idea of what they are up to. We are all in our 50's/60's now.

Nine. The only two I was close to died. I have a couple on social media but no other contact.

4 first cousins. A bunch of second cousins. Not in touch with any of them bar the odd FB like /post.

12 cousins. I’m in touch regularly with 2 of them. They live in the same town as me. The rest is more sporadic - Christmas, birthdays and occasional visits.

I had 2, one on each side.
My cousin on my DM side died young in a car accident.
I do see my other cousin 1 or 2 times a year though, thanks to her DM rather than directly between us, I am 12 years older though.

One on side of the family I have 18 first cousins, we are spread all over the world but are close and all keep in contact and meet when we can . far too many second cousins to count but they all close as well.

The other side of the family I have no idea sadly.

A lot. I don't see them bar funerals and weddings.

I have 5, all on one side (and 2 siblings). We are all pretty spread out geographically, but used to enjoy family get togethers when our mutual grandmother was alive and have made an effort to keep in touch since she died
10yrs ago. Particularly those of us with children who are close in age. We have a family WhatsApp chat which is pretty active for general news and do all arrange visits/holidays together on a reasonably regular basis, given that we are in 4 different countries!

I had 18. Three now dead (two suicides, one cancer). Four I've never met. Two I am very occasionally in contact with. Nothing in common with any of the others.

7 cousins.
Only see and speak to 2 of them.
I can't bear my mums side of the family so that wipes out 4.
Of the other 3, one is very private and keeps himself to himself. The other two I speak to and see when I can. One is in Oz and the other local to parents but I am overseas.

Ten cousins. Only see at funerals. Last one several years ago.

I had 27 cousins a few have sadly died I keep in touch with some on Sm see 1 or 2 occasionally socially.

Loads. 14 siblings in mums family and 7 in dads. That generation are all 70 plus.

First cousins, their kids and grandkids.

Lots in the family.

Some are really close and some I've never met and some I don't even know exist.

Big Irish families so lots of cousin families had 3 or 4 kids.

I have 8 cousins. One went to school with me. People actually thought we were twins. We lived in each other's pockets as teens. I've moved 40 miles away. Not a huge distance but enough to lose that closeness. 6 cousins will all be together for a family wedding. Otherwise we rarely see each other except through social media.
My other 2 cousins have always been and probably always will be much closer. Our mums are sisters.

I didn't think I would be so unusual, but I have 91 first cousins, as both parents were from big families. We were close to my cousins when I was growing up, but I'm one of the eldest so there was fewer obviously. Less close now that I've moved away but would see them at family funerals - too many to invite to weddings!

Three that I'm aware of, but there might be others.

The two from my mum's side I used to see as a child but we don't have a relationship now and all live in different places.

The other from my dad's side I've never met.

It's a shame really. Most of my family is quite separate and broken in various ways, for various reasons. I don't really give it much thought day to day, but it's rather dysfunctional tbh.

I notice it a lot when I see the numerous members of DH family with great regularity.
