Chris and Eve vloggers quit?

Limonjelly · 14/04/2024 18:11

I used to follow a YouTube couple, Chris and Eve, they seemed quite nice and had 2 cats they vlogged about a lot, and more recently had 2 kids. I think they had a reasonable following.

I wanted to find out what company cat-proofed their garden, but I can't find their YT channel or Insta any more? The accounts are both unavailable. Just wondered if anyone knew if they've decided to quit vlogging? Thinking about it, I hadn't seen any videos by them come up for ages. (And in the meantime if anyone can recommend good cat-proofing companies in Surrey or Berkshire area, I'd be grateful!)

It is concerning isn't it. They seemed to be ticking along like usual, albeit fewer posts recently but put that down to being busy with 2 young girls. I know one of the cats was poorly with kidney problems and was thinking perhaps he passed away, but not sure that would warrant wiping all their channels.

Has nothing to do with jetty if anything it would generate more views and sympathy

RicePuddingWithCinnamon · 01/05/2024 21:34

Cats ate their face.

If it wasn't so weird and stalkery I would debate sending a little message just to say I hope they're OK 🙈

Yeah same. Too far though😂

Im invested now and had never heard of them 5 minutes ago

QuiltedHippo · 01/05/2024 22:28

Don't know them at all, but also intrigued. There's nothing on tiktok that I can see discussing it. Nothing on tattle except one person asking where they are.

Proudmummy67 · 01/05/2024 22:33

I've just noticed Eve has changed her name on FB and changed her photos to generic photos. I guess that means they don't want to be found and they've purposely deleted everything.

WibblyWobblyWeeble · 01/05/2024 22:39

I've never heard of them but I'm intrigued now too.

Limonjelly · 01/05/2024 22:48

Good spot @Proudmummy67 looks like that happened yesterday. Suggests it's not a hack. Must have their reasons. Leave them be, and all the best to them I guess. Sad.

She's just done that tonight! Her profile photo was a photo from their wedding earlier today when I looked. I wonder if they've spotted this thread!

Proudmummy67 · 01/05/2024 23:13

I thought they might have seen this thread and done it 🙈 it comes up on Google.

It is sad! People genuinely cared and supported them. I guess they must have their reasons and all the best to them.

Done for tax evasion?

I would suspect a stalker or cyberbullying before I suspected this.

Pieceofpurplesky · 01/05/2024 23:55

I am intrigued now and I have no clue who they are!

Custardy2 · 02/05/2024 00:42

@Grimchmas Totally, most likely they're protecting their family from weirdos online. I used to watch their YT years ago. I only mention the tax thing because their house move was interesting to me. They very suddenly moved from a nice but ordinary/pokey 2-3 bed new build semi to a large, pretty impressive-looking house with land and stuff. Presumably in London suburbs. I live in the region and I estimate £1m+ of house. Just found the big step up curious!

EnglishBluebell · 02/05/2024 02:19

Well she is/was a First Officer for a well known airline (yes, really) and even her LinkedIn page has gone!

She's an Airline pilot so she will be on a decent wage even before all the social media income

Proudmummy67 · 02/05/2024 02:38

I don't really understand how after putting your personal life all over social media for years you can just decide to become the most private person ever. It makes me feel that something bad has happened and that's why they've had to take it all down 😬

Jk8 · 02/05/2024 05:34

It'll be a money or affair type thing that's what tips these people (influencers/"normal people online") over the edge no matter how successful or popular they are.

When money starts rolling in/random people are messaging you or stopping to talk to you in the streets your no longer held to the same standards as everyone else

  • having your kids especially young ones on the web for anybody to see & look at. It doesnt matter wether your the most down to earth couple around. It's hugely dangerous & there's been multiple reports of it attracting pedophiles & extreme fans of litterally 2 year olds. They were right to fuck off even if it was rude of them as adults to not thank anybody who supported them over the years or explain that they're moving on.

But again these people are not really 'normal people just sharing their lives online' there a very specific breed who simply appeal to different groups (the shy/anxious/happy/friendly/easygoing or no different to the mess/arrogant/lazy/immature ones) unfortunately

Custardy2 · 02/05/2024 08:39

@EnglishBluebell I thought she left her job to be a SAHM? (Can't imagine being a pilot is easy shift wise when you have babies/toddlers either).

That is what I thought too.

He was/is also a first officer too for Tui. I remember them during covid era saying a how they were struggling financially due to not working (as no holidays). Then bam, they sold their modest home for a pretty expensive house in the countryside.

Custardy2 · 02/05/2024 09:09

Yep, exactly. It was odd to me.

Could also just be they were living beyond their means. Lots of middle of the road influencers seem to get caught up in living a lifestyle they can't afford don't they.

FloraShamoo · 02/05/2024 09:48

I suppose it’s exactly this kind of speculation about their lifestyle/income/jobs etc that has maybe made them rethink their SM channels. Viewers don’t know their financial circumstances, why should we?! In 10+ years they’ve kept their working lives very private even before children, so what’s to say they aren’t working as usual now to pay for that lovely home. Plus you only see an edited version of perhaps a small portion of their day or week so of course they have a “normal” life outside of SM.
It’s sad that their channels have ended so abruptly but they must have had their reasons. Some of the nicest YouTubers prob still get horrible nasty comments. Another channel I watch said how much stuff they have to filter out from random trolls in a recent Q&A. It’s a sad fact of modern life I guess.

If they do happen to read any of this thread, Chris, Eve, look after yourselves - I wish you well and best of luck for the future x

Olivegardenishome · 02/05/2024 10:01

They didn’t really keep their working lives private though?? They always said they were pilots, what company they fly for etc, that they travel. They also said they struggled financially during the lockdowns and that Eve was having a career break. They were very transparent and open. It’s what I loved about them, they were refreshing compared to the majority of influencers.

I love how they loved their cats.

Are you sure? I don't ever recall them saying what they did for a living. In an old Q&A I remember them doing - they said they didn't want to disclose what they did for privacy reasons - and only said they worked in Hospitality. Unless that changed and I missed it later down the line, but I didn't think they ever said what their exact jobs were. I agree in that they came across as really down to earth and honest people, probably why I liked them too. They replied to messages and engaged with their audience well. I think thats why they had a decent following. I first came across them when we got our BSH cat and its largely thanks to them we bought cat fencing and other cat products! I guess you could say I was "influenced" 🙂
