Oh? He used the word bollocks? And it’s ok in this case?

No, he said “bolloxometer”. Not the same thing at all.

Anything John Crace writes is acceptable. Wanted and admired in fact.

I see. So sometimes it’s ok and sometimes it’s not ok. Depending on who says it. Right.

Well big fat (or small skinny) hairy bollocks to that. I don’t mind it in the written word. I don’t mind it being spoken out loud.

What I don’t want is bollocks in women only spaces.

That polling is extraordinary - what a difference from 4 years ago. I think that reveals the impact of the exodus under Johnson.

I think Truss must take some of the credit.

Oh! There is a scale of acceptability, depending on specific contraction / prefix / postfix of the word.

prettybird · 18/04/2024 17:58

Ignore the goading.

Hello Everybody,
I really don't know what's going on at the moment! Can anyone tell me how many I've got left?
I think that my WhatsApp gone all wonky again as I'm not getting any messages or jokes or even videos of cats knocking things off shelves (I like those, they really make me laugh) anyway I'm a bit in the dark at the mo.

bombastix · 18/04/2024 18:06

Sending you fruit and flowers from Mark Rishi

DuncinToffee · 18/04/2024 18:08

Liz Truss broke Whitehall rules by publishing her new book without the agreement from the Cabinet Office

A Cabinet Office spokesperson says: "We did not agree to the final wording. So the author is in breach of the Radcliffe Rules."

Officials did not clear her revealing details of private conversations - including with the late Queen

DuncinToffee · 18/04/2024 18:10

Willy Wragg's friends might send you a whatsapp Rishi

I think you have to ask nicely first.

newnamethanks · 18/04/2024 18:15

Yo Rishi, I've got one chained to a radiator in the hallway. You can have him back for a 50k bung. Yes. I'm a bad person but, so is he. You decide which of us is worst.

BIossomtoes · 18/04/2024 18:02

We are.

😂😂🤷‍♀️ But it’s ok for you and @AdamRyan and whoever else (I forget) to do the same on other less ‘cosy’ threads?

It isn’t ‘goading’ - simply highlighting inconsistencies. People don’t like that, I understand.

I’m not surprised at the hypocrisy of course.

Lion400 · 18/04/2024 18:16

Shocked. Again.

Before anyone starts chirruping about but the telegraph but but, this is from Apple News

Can you link the article so we can read beyond the headline?

OP posts:
DuncinToffee · 18/04/2024 18:26

Thanks Blossom, more headline than content

The Telegraph previously requested the selection papers from when she applied to become the Labour candidate for Ashton-under-Lyne, the year before the election, which would have included her main address.

Labour refused, but on Thursday a party spokesman said: “The document is no longer held and had been disposed of, in line with legal data protection requirements.”

BIossomtoes · 18/04/2024 18:31

Quite. The Telegraph still hasn’t reported on Mark Menzies.

Notonthestairs · 18/04/2024 18:31

We used to keep financial records for 6 years from the end of the last company financial year as per Companies House rules.
After that I suppose they were shredded.

What were the rules in this instance?
It's a pretty pointless argument without them.

TooBigForMyBoots · 18/04/2024 18:42

One side effect of Menzies not being a Tory anymore is the number of letters the 1922 Committee has reduced. So that's good. Every little helps and I feel I must give a big thanks to all the Tory MPs destroying the party.

Operation Death By A Thousand Cuts is going swimmingly.Grin

As in he had written a letter and it now doesn't count, or the number of letters needed to trigger has dropped?

IClaudine · 18/04/2024 18:51

Chirruping? Are we crickets now?

BIossomtoes · 18/04/2024 18:51

I think the requisite number of letters falls with every MP they lose. Independent, ex Tory MPs might soon form the majority party at this rate.
