I've just watched Legends of the fall again and yet again in a complete sobbing mess, another was the champwhich I've refused to watch in about 20 years as it gets me in such a state.
What films make you bawl like a baby?

Homeward bound
Brother bear
UP
Dumbo
The fox and the hound
Toy story 3 (when they hold hands)
Inside out (took my DD11 with her friends to see this and embarrassingly sobbed)
Marley and me
Schindler's list (the red coat made me cry angry tears!)
Beaches
Steel magnolias
Step mom
The impossible
Mr Hollands opus

WalkWithMeSuzieLee · 14/04/2024 02:42

Into The Wild
Edward Scissorhands
Up
My Girl
A Dog's Purpose

Blackcatbride · 14/04/2024 04:37

I can't believe nobody has mentioned 'A Star is Born' Cooper and Gaga version. Ugly cry/howl at this. Also 'Truly Madly Deeply', 'Gran Torino' and lots of the ones already mentioned.

Dean Spanley.

Tezza1 · 14/04/2024 06:53

@Ineedtoletoffsteam I was working as a Teacher-Librarian and read the book of "Goodnight, Mr Tom" when it was first released. I found it heart rending and as much as I liked John Thaw, I could never watch the film.

tastydiner · 14/04/2024 06:59

Toy Story 3

The end of Paddington 2

A film called It’s my Psrty. With Julia Robert’s brother in it.

Sammilouwho · 14/04/2024 07:10

Beaches!
And Grave of the Fireflies.

The Railway Children...
At the end when Bobby wanders to the train station as she has a strange feeling.
"Daddy...that's my Daddy" 😭

She actually says "Daddy my Daddy" beautiful scene.

JustRollWithIt · 14/04/2024 07:16

Up.
Can't even hear the theme tune without crying.

Funderthighs · 14/04/2024 07:21

Another vote for Beaches & also Bicentennial Man.

Nagado · 14/04/2024 07:22

What Dreams May Come with Robin Williams. Such a beautiful film.

Ps I love you (the first time I watched it )
Marley and Me

Was going to say these as well. Every time 🤧😢

Catopia · 14/04/2024 07:39

Another vote for PS I Love You.... I don't actually think I've managed to get through it start to finish yet.

spacehoppercommuter · 14/04/2024 07:42

The elephant man
Wall-e (in fact, any film where a robot develops human feelings makes me blub)
Beaches
Bambi (my gosh that film almost gave me PTSD as a kid)

Azerothi · 14/04/2024 07:44

The Bridges of Madison County

spacehoppercommuter · 14/04/2024 07:44

Oh yes- the English patient, forgot that one. That was such a beautiful film

Woahtherehoney · 14/04/2024 07:49

The Boy in the Striped Pyjamas
Schindlers List
ET
The Green Mile

Someone else mentioned The Fault In Our Stars. I haven’t seen the film but read the book a few years ago and finished it on my way to work one morning - I was sat on the tube full on sobbing 🤣 a few people asked if I was ok as I was so upset!

Sagittarius · 14/04/2024 07:59

Just rememberer another, my sister's keeper

imforeverblowingbuttons · 14/04/2024 08:10

The green mile
Beaches
Marley and me
My girl
It's a wonderful life

But the saddest film I ever say was a old film called The Champ.

imforeverblowingbuttons · 14/04/2024 08:11

Me before you
The boy in the stripped pyjamas
Water for elephants
The kite runner

Clawdy · 14/04/2024 08:17

Carousel
Railway Children
Nowhere Boy - that last scene as he walks up the road into his future.

Orders76 · 14/04/2024 09:27

Someone mentioning the character creating a narrative just reminded me of one of the biggest reactions I've ever had to a film.

Pans labyrinth was so awful at the end, I was so utterly despondent and sad I was angry. Definitely one to watch if you want all the feelings.

Freeasabird76 · 14/04/2024 15:12

Thank you all,I have so many new films I need to watch now, just got to get more tissues in first 😭
