I've just watched Legends of the fall again and yet again in a complete sobbing mess, another was the champwhich I've refused to watch in about 20 years as it gets me in such a state.
What films make you bawl like a baby?

I always cry at Pay It Forward and recently was sobbing at Finch (I don’t even think it was that sad but I was full on sobbing)

JadeSeahorse · 13/04/2024 23:25

Definitely Hachi and I'm more of a cat person.

This film had me in incontrollable sobs.😥.

Just beautiful!

Also Bridges of Madison County.

Les Miserables when Anne Hathaway sings I Dreamed A Dream.

Room. I had a child the same age and had recently escaped an EA relationship (obv not Room level) but my head wandered

I remember meeting the author of the book when she was studying in Cambridge. The novel was based on a real case an an early example of this kind of quick turnaround into inspiration for a novel based on real and sensitive cases. Very much put me off it

PinkSunsetSky · 13/04/2024 23:28

The Notebook
Schindlers list

charabang · 13/04/2024 23:31

Cold Mountain.

Sagittarius · 13/04/2024 23:33

Loads, but the ones that come to mind now are;

Armagedon
The Green Mile
The Notebook
P.S I love You
Beaches
Titanic
E.T
Marley and Me

VestibuleVirgin · 13/04/2024 23:33

The Mission

TheBell · 13/04/2024 23:34

Toy story 3. The furnace. 😭😭😭

TracyBeakerSoYeah · 13/04/2024 23:34

The Sound of Music, when they leave the stage at the singing festival & flee to Austria on foot to Switzerland knowing that they may probably never go to back.

Titanic the bit when the Mum is telling her children a story as the ship sinks

Devilsmommy · 13/04/2024 23:37

Definitely the green mile but also born to be wild, when the deaf gorilla gets it's happy ending I can't stop the tears😂

TiggerSnoozer · 13/04/2024 23:37

I cry at everything anyway but films I particularly remember crying at whilst simultaneously loving their beauty were the English Patient and Cinema Paridiso - I've been known to cry just hearing the music for CP. Don't think any film ever has managed to be so gorgeously bittersweet with nostalgia.

PirateIsland · 13/04/2024 23:37

Lot make me cry but Green Mile, Billy Elliot and Steel Magnolias are my full on sobbing films. There are others like The Pianist which are just so, so sad I don't think I'd ever watch again..

Maybepossibly22 · 13/04/2024 23:38

Oh goodness. The end of pay it forward has me crying ugly tears at the end. The music 😭 I’ve not watched it in years and I’m not sure where to find it streaming now

AlohaOptima · 13/04/2024 23:39

Green mile, Armageddon and all kids films but How to Train your Dragon 3 especially!

RabbitsRock · 13/04/2024 23:41

Too many to list! Definitely Lassie films as we used to have a rough collie. And another vote for The Railway Children. Such beautiful music & as a pp said, that unforgettable scene with Bobby on the platform as the mist clears……
