There is also helping deescalate a situation - Iran retaliated and hopefully, the impact of the retaliation was reduced.

It could have been so much worse if more drones and missiles had got through.
There has been a lot of signalling that something was coming.

But surely if a poster supported Iran's right to retaliate then presumably they would support the impact of this retaliation being much worse than it was and would object to US, UK and Jordanian forces shooting down these drones.

If the intention of Iran was simply to send a message to Israel without any intention of causing any real damage or hoping the drones get shot down then why not simply send half a dozen from Yemen or Iraq with some big red flashing lights on to make them easier to spot?

Iran had a right to retaliate.

But it does seem a very large retaliation. However, it was clearly signalled over the last few days and maybe Iran knew that with this signalling, countries including the US, Israel and the UK would be on high alert for any retaliation and would be able to shoot things down as they did.

Iran can say that it retaliated.
Israel can say that it dealt with the retaliation.

israel is not a religion , Iran is not a religion - they are countries .

im of the thought that religion is not bad - people are. I have utmost respect for people of faith and none. I do have an issue with bullies be they Muslim, Jew, or otherwise .

Media being the media hyped this up, and for what amounted was a deliberate show of something from all sides whilst not risking a full war.

This sounds like something Iran did for it's own public, to keep on them on side and to show strength.

The media with every single issue like to whip the public into hysteria.

It is a repressive regime. People know that - there was the major crackdown on women recently when some protested.

There's a big difference in antisemitism and not supporting a country's government.
There are Jews spread across the world who have never been to Israel and maybe never will.
There are Israelis in Israel who are protesting AGAINST this government.

I just think it's wrong to steadfastly support any government that comes to power in an allied country and incredibly dangerous.

Oh yeah I remember when Trump was in power & there were no wars at all. If anyone is to blame it's Biden, he's weak & he "generously" gave Iran 8bn to fund these attacks on Israel. November can't come soon enough to get rid of him, the more likely option is WW3 happening before that & the election being postponed!

Iran have bankrolled - Hezbollah - Al- Qaeda - Isis - Al Nusra and many others not to mention Hamas for years their tentacles and atrocities spread all over the world including Britain by only using proxies, they have now come out of the closet - interesting

Taking into account several countries have pulled their people off the area, military assets have been moved, this is not for show and not exaggerated, not even by the press.

Whether they have the nerve to hold for peace or they will go all in, we will find out in the next few days.

With their history, particularly recent one, I doubt they have any peaceful cell in themselves, not even traces. US, UK, UN or any other country have close to zero influence on them and they have hated each other for a long time now.
We can hope for peace and carry on making clear to our governments that we are pro a peaceful solution. Fight on the UN table, agreements table, peace talks.... but this option does not suit the capabilities of the actors in the conflict. They are violent, ruthless and lacking on human values.

The Israeli government has ensured that any criticism of their actions is regarded as anti semitic. So naturally people are wary of criticising in case their well founded complaints are taken the wrong way. It
The hardline no debate stance, shutting down of critical thinking & questioning by the Netanyahu cabinet is making things worse.

This is similar to what's happening in the gender ideology debate now with trans activists taking over with their no debate stance. Any questioning is shut down immediately with chants of transphobia by bullying activists. Although the hardline trans stance is being questioned now due to the publication of the Cass report and The Times article.

The hundreds of cheap drones and old cruise missiles that were sent by iran were to saturate the iron dome. Once they saturated the iron dome they then sent ballistic missiles which weren't intercepted at all.

Although Iran didn't use them last night, like Russia and China they have hypersonic missiles for which their is no technology in the world that can intercept.

Yeah, it's interesting. I was genuinely worried by Trump being president - and of course he did not quash the Russian land grab that has been going on since 2014. However, there were not any big wars going on either.
