do you think op made the scenario up in order that she could then turn it into a comedy? If so, I’m still on board with it!

Grin Og so it's deliberate gullibility?? GrinErm.... congratulations?

dapsnotplimsolls · 13/04/2024 12:36

At this point, I don't care if it's made-up - I'm here for the casting and the punny song titles!

myfaceismyown · 13/04/2024 12:36

Hopped on thread 3!. Really hoping your solicitor will do his groundwork, stick to the boundaries, and get to the root of the problem. He/she needs to weed out Barbara, call a spade a spade, and tell her to fork off... No tears will be shed, and the result will be fruitful for the OP :)

dapsnotplimsolls · 13/04/2024 12:38

If we're now casting a musical then my votes are for Hannah Waddington as OP, Ball or Boe as DH, Imelda Staunton as Babs and Elaine Page as Stella the Seller.

Zonder · 13/04/2024 12:45

Who cares if it's made up but we know it's not because Babs did her own thread it's still fun!

Why are certain posters trying to ruin this amusing, lighthearted thread that the rest of us are enjoying?

CaveMum · 13/04/2024 12:48

Too invested to abandon this saga now!

Fun sponges.

In an ideal world if Barbara was amenable I would let her stay till the end of the summer on the condition you can also come down and use the allotment and take over some of it. She can’t possibly have planted every once of soil yet. It’s only April.

Merrymouse · 13/04/2024 12:57

Obviously we have established that we have a situation that is a cross between Breaking Bad/The Gentlemen/Any British film with Maggie Smith, but do you think the ex owner is involved? It’s quite important for the casting.

Enterthewolves · 13/04/2024 12:58

I do not understand the grumps on this thread. I’m still team plausible because - amusing writing aside - it is reasonable. ‘We bought a house that during conveyancing was revealed to include a separate garden space (which there are lots in my home town up North), on visiting the space someone has been using it and is cross we don’t want to let her stay, what shall we do?’ So far so boring. Equally I don’t get the support of the squatter - she knew she was squatting, must have known the property was being sold and now the jig is up - too bad but she’s had a good run. Would everyone be so tolerant if it was a parking space she’d been using?

Really from now on I think any action needs to be considered only in terms of how it furthers the plot.

theholesinmyapologies · 13/04/2024 13:00

If you think it's all made up, you don't have to be here.

FiveLamps · 13/04/2024 13:01

Good luck with the solicitors on Monday OP.

RitaIncognita · 13/04/2024 13:02

Of course they wouldn't. Parking spaces are at the very top of MN's "it's mine, get the hell off" hierarchy of valuables. Land people actually own, it would appear, not so much.

dapsnotplimsolls · 13/04/2024 13:03

What if the parking spot had a Babs in it?

Grrrpredictivetex · 13/04/2024 13:04

Why do people bother coming on a thread to tell us all its a made up story?
Even if it is I'm loving it. 😻

OriginalUsername2 · 13/04/2024 13:04

Cracking up at “have you even got any seeds yet?” from the last thread.

takemeawayagain · 13/04/2024 13:05

I'd be wary of Babs, she's giving me Sweeney Todd vibes but with garden tools instead of razor blades.

Strictlymad · 13/04/2024 13:06

Following! This thread is gold!

I've read both previous threads (so THAT'S where my Saturday morning went!) and I was going to suggest pitching the idea to Netflix. But the West End is just as good (and easily accessible for me for opening night)

Just one thing occurred to me that you might not have thought about, and that's something I believe is known as "adverse possession"?

HTH - and looking forward to updates and an invitation to the ribbon cutting ceremony once you obtain possession of your own property.

But yeah - look into that adverse possession thing. Sounds like that might be a go-er.

You've read both threads and think adverse possession hasn't already been mentioned umpteen times?

I think that was a joke.
