I love these threads and the weekend meals always sound so good.

DH & I are looking for inspiration. He’s helping my Dad wallpaper so hungry. While I need distracting from waiting to see if my period is going to arrive or if this the month to test.

So for dinner this Saturday night?

Spag bol, garlic bread, red wine and homemade Victoria sponge after

NoblyBobly · 06/04/2024 17:42

I'm full of cold and feeling miserable, I don't feel like cooking so have taken some bolognese sauce out of the freezer. DH can boil some pasta to go with it.

Techno56 · 06/04/2024 17:45

Lamb and harrissa meatballs with chunky veg tomato sauce, garlic potatoes and garlic bread 😋

Chilli beef nachos, red wine, lashings of salsa, sour cream & cheese. Yum!

Whattheduck · 06/04/2024 17:47

Just me tonight so having a cheese and onion pasty with chips and baked beans

HeyMicky · 06/04/2024 17:49

BBQ chicken, macaroni cheese, sweet potato and black bean hash, green beans

TheChosenTwo · 06/04/2024 17:49

Baked Camembert to start, 3 cuts of steak with aubergine bake, sautéed potatoes and asparagus for main and profiteroles for pudding - I’m low carbing so have more asparagus wrapped in Parma ham for dipping in the cheese and no potatoes or profiteroles but I’m excited anyway.
We have a cote de boeuf, a fillet and a nice looking bit of rump.

Cosycover · 06/04/2024 17:50

I've just ordered a pizza 🍕

UsernameTaken76 · 06/04/2024 17:50

Spag Bol sounds popular tonight so far!

@TheChosenTwo that menu sounds wonderful. I like the low carb version with the Parma ham and asparagus for dipping!

Tandoori chicken in wraps with lettuce, red onion, raita, mango chutney, cumin roasted cauliflower and onion salad.

midgetastic · 06/04/2024 17:58

Sticky tofu with stir fry veg and rice

SheepAndSword · 06/04/2024 17:59

Probably just smoked haddock with potatoes and vegetables in stock and creme fraiche.

Definitely a pudding after.

ghostbusters · 06/04/2024 17:59

We're having chicken chasni curry. My local refill shop does meal kits (Hello Fresh style), it's one of those so technically home made. Smells really good 😋

JLT24 · 06/04/2024 17:59

Lamb kebabs, pittas, tzatiki, salad and couscous.

WhatTheFuckIsThat · 06/04/2024 18:01

Indian takeaway later - I'll have a hot curry, my husband is going to have chicken and chips!

CurlyWurly1991 · 06/04/2024 18:01

Ohh very inspiring sounding meals here. I’m shattered and suffering morning sickness so we are having oven chips and battered fish with peas. Oven meal so hoping DH will do it (I am the cook and cannot face it)

Cofaki · 06/04/2024 18:01

Fajitas. Tofu for me and DS, chicken for DH and DD. Though DH often has the tofu as well

CurlyWurly1991 · 06/04/2024 18:01

Oh and snickers ice cream for dessert <class>

Deebeedore · 06/04/2024 18:02

Slow cooker beef stew with mash, green beans and cabbage

Sauvblanctime · 06/04/2024 18:03

Lasagna or spaghetti bolognaise

got the tomato sauce in the slow cooker so whatever my dh fancies when he gets home

Sparkletastic · 06/04/2024 18:03

Lemon Parmesan pea and asparagus risotto and green salad. Might make DD and her boyfriend make it as they have got a friend staying and hadn't pre-warned me. I can be responsible for minding the dogs and telly and drinking wine whilst they labour in the kitchen ☺️

Ilovelurchers · 06/04/2024 18:05

My husband is doing roast beef, roast potatoes, and a load of vegetables - I saw broccoli, carrots, cavolo Nero, asparagus, and he mentioned peas and sweetcorn too....

For dessert will probably have some chocolate and peanut butter cakes my daughter made yesterday....

Everyone else has done all the work for once!

Allthegoodnamesarechosen · 06/04/2024 18:05

Asparagus with melted butter and cracked pepper, then king prawns ( cold) with a rice mould ( cooked in the prawn stock) with red pepper, a very small amount of sun dried tomato and green olives mixed in. Chives and parsley sprinkled over the top

Bottle of Viognier.

we don’t do pudding except for guests, but we will have a chunk of the Hotel Chocolat Egg our lovely friend brought us, and a glass of grappa.
