Inspired by yesterday's thread of the bill splitting karma, which was very uplifting to read, can anyone share any stories where CF got their come uppence? These will be a wonderful read for all especially victims of CF!
I don't have any to offer I am afraid...

But is at a NC, or are they NC, or do they just want some NC?

I don't think NC has gone NC, but I think NC NC'ed because they love NC.

+ +wixs? Twixes? Twixi? What's the plural of Twix?! Is it Twix?! + +

Twox

Appendix - appendices, cervix - cervices - therefore Twices.

I have been led astray!

You are only flesh and blood.

We don't judge.

@IncompleteSenten - he went bright red and stormed out of the staff room. Rest of staff PTSL.
Think that might have caused the second issue...

jackstini · 11/04/2024 20:16

@Newestname002 - oh many shades. May have gone to 'pompous purple'
Definitely think it affected the second one!

I'm sure they would, but a claim would push up their premiums.

I'd like to think it was at least "knock for knock". (Better still, all the driver's fault)

There's lots of highway code guidance relating to what constitutes negligence of the rider but it can certainly be all the drivers fault in the eyes of the law too.

The adult equivalent of flipping the board in Monopoly 😃

Would have loved to have seen that.

But, but...throwing this out there...the plural of phalanx is *phalanges - so it could also be 'Twiges'

*phalanxes can also be used, I believe

Here's bit of Karma
O.J Simpson has died.
I don't believe he was innocent of his crimes at all.
I know it's not a CF story but kind of relevant.

( and no someone dying is not karma I know that.)

He wasn't found innocent though was he? Unfortunately he was acquitted of the criminal case on a technicality but was "guilty" in the civil case.

I hope that your friend wasn't held liable for the repairs.

Are horses insured for kicking cars to death?

I'm always very careful about passing horses (and cyclists and joggers) personally, as I dread that one of them will take fright/ have a heart attack/ look at me funny and there will be an accident.

I have no idea if horses ever collapse and fall on, or in front of, very tiny cars, but I wouldn't want to risk it.

Yes, horses are insured for Accidents and Public Liability which probably does cover smashing up cars but in this case I’m pretty sure his insurance paid. I don’t think he even queried it.

Fortunately (I think...) Enormo-Cob had the necessary parts removed when he was but an Enormo-Foal... the consequences of him reproducing his Nice-But-Dim genes do not bear thinking about.

He did have some hefty public liability insurance... sorted after he ever so slightly sat on the smoking shelter outside a local pub and caused it to fall down completely - there was no one in it at the time fortunately! (After that he was not left tied to flimsy objects, pub going riders had to stand in the doorway holding his reins, and order a pint whilst trying to stop the dopey sod coming into the pub).

imforeverblowingbuttons · 12/04/2024 06:31

I had an abusive dh. He left me to 'teach me a lesson' but it backfired as all it did was make me realise I was better with out him.

Once split was final I said I could buy him out now or we could sell when kids were older. He opted for buy out now. We had the house valued and there was 30k equity so I remortgaged an extra 15k and the house was transferred in my name.

This was early 2000's within a couple of years prices had gone through the roof and suddenly I was sitting on 80k equity. I sold it ten years later and and made £110k

Not sure the advice to smile at beggars is particularly helpful. If you do that they come and aggressively hassle you for cash I find. Nice sentiment but not realistic !

The cheese puns have made this thread truly grate.

spacehoppercommuter · 12/04/2024 08:48

Always say hello to beggars in the street, you don't know why they're there and never know if it will be you some day

Yeah, this is not always safe. We have a lot of homeless where I live and they drink a lot. They fight openly in a certain place in town and it makes people feel very unsafe. I've seen people talk to them and then they've been threatened. I really wouldnt do this. Personal safety is far more important than saying hello to someone

My ex boasted to his newish girlfriend of 5/6 months how his exes with children didn’t know he had a new job or his new salary. He also told her he’d hidden savings in two accounts that he hadn’t declared in his ongoing divorce.

She pretended to get excited with him, worked out where he kept his payslips and bank statements, took photos and sent them to his ex wife and ex girlfriend along with details of his job (start date, job title, location etc).

After a review his CM payments almost doubled! He also had to renegotiate part of his financial settlement due to his “forgotten” accounts.

Didn't affect me financially as our two are uni age now, but his social media meltdowns about the situation have been absolutely hilarious.

This actually reminded me of something else I heard.

I had the misfortune to come across a narcissistic man, late 40’s, as part of a job I have. He had been having an affair with a younger woman, and between them they’d caused a lot of stress in this particular workplace. Including him blaming other people for shagging her when he was being found out (true love, right? 🤣).

Anyway, the pair of them were vile in every sense. Both bullies, always trying to throw people under the bus etc. She became like the boy who cried wolf, always complaining about things that never happened, to the point she just ended up being ignored!

Both of them would slag off his ex wife (the subject of the affair) in front of everyone, it was very cringey and classless to witness, and many people knew his ex as they’d been together a long time.

My partner (who knows the ex) and I bumped into ex wife and her daughter (his stepdaughter who he’d raised as his own, and had basically ditched when he left) and they told us how he’d tried to sell the house out from under them and his new gf had called social services on stepdaughter relating to her own baby! Apparently he’d tried to hide pensions as part of the divorce proceedings but the court saw through him and found the pension. The ex got a maintenance settlement and he wasn’t able to hide money, I hear his face was a picture!

Further comeuppance to him and the nasty girlfriend came in their both being kicked out of this workplace one after the other after investigations into their behaviour. They’re so lacking in self awareness that they’d still show up 😂 and he is so desperate for allies that he posts photos with these ex colleagues as though they are besties, when I know first hand that every single one of those people slate him and her fit to burn behind their backs. Some friends, eh 😂

Well just had fresh karma today. Call from hmrc re ex toxic boss who got me sacked the day before my significant birthday last year (he let staff help themselves to my gifts left on my desk). He threatened to take over my division on day one and lied continually to me. Turns out he submitted wage slips to hmrc but didn't pay the staff. He's boss is in jail on fraud charges, he'll be following. As an ex tax office employee I was happy to help 😄

Fabulous! This made my day, I love it when these things happen.

I've just remembered one, not mine but from a friend who was a midwife. She had a patient who was a bit off but ignored it and got on with her care. Anyway, fast forward to the birth and the patient's partner was getting it in the neck from the patient.

The man patiently bore all the drama & then the moment came when the baby was born. The healthcare staff went quiet but the partner noticed so went round to the business end. The baby was mixed race and very obviously not his so he instructed the staff to hand the baby over to its mum and then walked out.
