Was your gut instinct in pregnancy about whether you were having a boy or a girl correct?

Just interested.

Keep having dreams of one gender - not sure if it means anything!

We’d be happy with either.

Yes, and I was right.

TheNameIsDickDarlington · 03/04/2024 17:06

I was right every time, but my feelings didn't really lock in until closer to the end of the pregnancy.

In my first few weeks I'd guessed each wrong, then flip flopped not knowing, then around 25-30 weeks I felt pretty sure of what I was having (for example referring to the baby as "he") and was right.

Isseywith3witchycats · 03/04/2024 17:07

No, I had absolutely no idea each time until either the baby was born or I was able to find out from the scan.

MissMarplesGoddaughter · 03/04/2024 17:09

Yes and no.

DC 1 I was correct
DC2 I was wrong

DyddDewiSant · 03/04/2024 17:12

Yes. I was right both times.

Puppupandaway · 03/04/2024 17:16

Yes I was right both times! I always imagined myself with a daughter for my first, never entered my head I'd have a boy. Fast forward to being pregnant and I had no doubt I was having a boy, from very early on. I was right. Then, second baby, I really wanted a girl and had really strong feelings it was a girl. I was right! Never doubted my gut feeling. I can't describe it, it's just an overwhelming feeling. But I suppose it's a 50/50 chance so not that surprising that often you can be correct.

Thighdentitycrisis · 03/04/2024 17:17

Yes , but there was a 50/50 chance !

PissedOffNeighbour22 · 03/04/2024 17:18

Yes, correct both times.

bakewellbride · 03/04/2024 17:18

Yes I 100% knew ds was a boy the second I saw the positive pregnancy test, I was certain.

Second pregnancy I had no idea and had a girl.

LeonoraFlorence · 03/04/2024 17:19

Every single time I was correct (all DDs). I knew with DD1 the minute she was conceived and knew she was a girl. Strange!

LightDrizzle · 03/04/2024 17:20

I was wrong both times. I guessed boy both times. It wasn’t a strong conviction just a guess.

Strawberrycheesecake7 · 03/04/2024 17:20

Yes. We found out the sex very early with a sneak peek test. But before we opened the results my DH asked me what I thought it was and I said very confidently it was a boy. I don’t know why but I was totally convinced. And I was right.

GoodnightAdeline · 03/04/2024 17:21

I was wrong both times! Thought DD was a boy, and DS was a girl.

mynameiscalypso · 03/04/2024 17:21

Yes, mine was. I never for a moment thought I'd be having a girl and I was right - clearly a boy from 16 weeks!

Gizlotsmum · 03/04/2024 17:22

Yes both times but I am useless at guessing other people’s!

JMSA · 03/04/2024 17:23

Completely wrong first time, but very pleasantly surprised!

I knew it was a girl second time because my midwife could tell by touching my bump. I was heavily pregnant and the baby's bottom was rounder than a boy's!

Private sexing scan with third.

menopausalmare · 03/04/2024 17:24

Yep, right both times. (Sex, not gender- had to slip that in).

PutOnYourRedShoesAndLetsDance · 03/04/2024 17:24

Right with both mine.. and we didn't get told back then.. we had to wait until we gave birth.. but l knew was a girl both times.

CEP1 · 03/04/2024 17:31

Mine was, but then I really badly wanted to have a boy so maybe it was hope rather than intuition

uncomfortablydumb53 · 03/04/2024 17:51

Yes, every time!
I also had the same compact low bump with each one
3 sons
DS1 is 30 and they didn't tell you the sex then

Sodabubbles · 03/04/2024 17:57

Yes both times, didn’t find out till birth.

Theoldwrinkley · 03/04/2024 18:21

Totally wrong. So convinced was I that I said if boy (I thought girl) DD could choose name. He is into ancient history, so boys name would be Phillip (of Macedon) who was succeeded by Alexander (the Great) succeeded by Selucius one-eye. I drew the line after 'Alexander'.

canigohomeyet · 03/04/2024 18:24

Yes on both occasions, with my twins I even knew which side my boy and girl were on!

Wibblywobblylikejelly · 03/04/2024 18:26

I've had 3 and I've been right everytime.
Even when though it wasn't my preferred sex, I still knew.
