Internet and news are sometimes skewed too negatively hence the thread! What went well for you today or made you happy? Little joys or big, all are welcome.

Mine: Caught a deteriorating patient early after deciding to do some extra checks and had uplifting views as I drove home.

Had a delicious dinner at my DD's house. It was lovely, and best of all no washing up

Loads here! I've really got stuck into the garden over the weekend and I'm really pleased with how it's looking this evening. I've got rid of so much ivy that was taking over and replaced an ugly fence that's been bugging me for a couple of years.

I helped with an open afternoon at my sports club, we had lovely weather for it, people enjoyed themselves and some will be joining the club.

Lastly, DS made dinner to practice for his cooking exam and it turned out really nicely.

A nice countryside walk with the family in good weather. Followed by a delicious roast that I cooked.

IcouldbutIdontwantto · 31/03/2024 21:39

Such a lovely idea for a thread!

I have 2 things - firstly, DD loved her Easter egg hunt - she doesn't like chocolate, so I put some small toys into plastic eggs. She had a great time finding them, then made me hide them again so she could do it a second time. Then she wanted to hide them for me, then for DH. This lasted an hour 😆, and only stopped when we decided it was too cold. She also spent ages playing with the toys inside, it was really lovely how much enjoyment she got out of it all 😍.

Secondly, I cooked an awesome roast lamb earlier, I don't cook lamb often, so I was worried it would be tough, but it all turned out beautifully.

I tried a new salad recipe today and everyone loved it

@BresciaBike

Well done you 🌷

sorry I can't add to the joy!

13 year old DS came on our Easter Sunday walk round the lake and actually talked to us.

DisforDarkChocolate · 31/03/2024 21:42

Lovely walk at a wildlife site with family.

My favourite pizza was in stock at the coop and I'm having it for lunch tomorrow.

It was sunny enough to have washing on the line today.

YoureRockingTheBoat · 31/03/2024 21:45

While making dinner, I have found an un-found egg to keep all to myself.

JJathome · 31/03/2024 21:46

As it was dry and sunny, I power washed the patio and it came up really well, it always makes a huge difference, and then I made my family a nice roast dinner which we ate together , and, which everyone enjoyed, and then we have just finished watching the movie the Martian, and they all ate magnums, I’m on a diet, but it made me happy watching them. So overall a good family day,

nice idea for a thread.

YoureRockingTheBoat · 31/03/2024 21:46

Oh dear @NearlyBritishSummertimeYay so sorry you have nothing.

ABwithAnItch · 31/03/2024 21:48

Made truly delicious Easter dinner: lamb cutlets, greek salad, roasted carrots, potatoes, galette style apple pie. Everything turned out perfect and was demolished by my family 😊

GrowThroughWhatYouGoThrough · 31/03/2024 21:50

My husband arrived home from working away this morning and mil didn't take up the invite for Sunday dinner so we all ate it together on the sofa watching tv 🤣

NoraLuka · 31/03/2024 21:50

I’ve had an awful headache all day, been feeling sick and dizzy and mostly stayed on the sofa or in bed. I’m not sure if it’s a migraine but it’s how I imagine migraines feel like. I had loads of things I wanted to do and didn’t do any of it.

But (here’s the part that went well!) I feel better now and tomorrow is a bank holiday so I’ll still be able to do the things I wanted. Also, the DDs are old enough to take care of themselves, I remember having this kind of headache when they were toddlers and it was the stuff of nightmares! And last thing, I’m in the process of giving up smoking and felt so nauseous that I didn’t even want a cigarette at all, that’s another smoke free day without really trying.

NoBunnyHome · 31/03/2024 21:52

Finished painting the office room earlier than expected so now have tomorrow totally free!

K0OLA1D · 31/03/2024 21:53

Went to Toby for a carvery, and it was top tier! Really couldn't be bothered to do tea tonight, so we decided to see if there were any tables left this morning, and there were! So 2 things that went right really!

avocadotofu · 31/03/2024 21:53

Had a lovely Easter lunch with my husband's family. DS loved the egg hunt they organised for him.

enoughrainnow · 31/03/2024 21:54

Drove home from a weekend in Cornwall. The journey was amazing, no traffic or delays. Even the sections with roadworks were fairly quick 😱

TheSproutOfWrath · 31/03/2024 21:54

I got two loads of washing dry on the line here in Scotland today and took the dog on an 8 mile hill walk in the Sun.

IbizaToTheNorfolkBroads · 31/03/2024 21:55

Reunited a lost dog with her owner

WarriorN · 31/03/2024 21:56

The most complicated dish for a 'bring a plate' meal I've ever attempted, cooking right up to the last minute. Was great

Fabulous dinner with friends :)

BriceNobeslovesMurielHeslop · 31/03/2024 21:56

Packed up my wee city centre flat ready for a move to a (slightly) bigger house with a garden!!
I can’t wait for the days to get longer and to sit in my little garden with a morning coffee.

sunnylanding · 31/03/2024 21:57

My Easter lunch.

I'd got visitors and fancied something different to a normal roast with roasties or mash. I did a leg of lamb with red wine gravy and dauphinois potatoes/greens...it was lush.

WarriorN · 31/03/2024 21:58

Oh and my rowing work out - managed to get through what I wanted to and it didn't kill me or wipe me out.

Nightsaidfred · 31/03/2024 21:59

We managed to convince mil to come for dinner she hasn't been out much since fil passed away just before xmas so it was lovely to see her smile & spend time with gc.
