Internet and news are sometimes skewed too negatively hence the thread! What went well for you today or made you happy? Little joys or big, all are welcome.

Mine: Caught a deteriorating patient early after deciding to do some extra checks and had uplifting views as I drove home.

Lovely Easter roast at my parent’s house with most of the family attending. Did a fun Easter egg hunt in the garden for all the Dc. Had the most amazing cuddles with my little baby nephew. Didn’t have to clean, tidy or wash up anything. Thankful for my family.

My ancient lawnmower started at the first attempt, justifying its expensive repair. Cut all the grass, front, side and back, on one tank of petrol, it’s been quite a while since it worked so well. Happy!

UpUpUpU · 31/03/2024 22:00

My son mounted his pony from the mounting block for the first time (I normally just throw him up there) and he stayed on when pony did a full body shake 😂😂 proud mum today ☺️

Namechangeforthis88 · 31/03/2024 22:01

Oh yeah, also did crispy cauliflower tacos for lunch and they were amazing.

Sgtmajormummy · 31/03/2024 22:01

Tried two new recipes for Easter and they went well.
DS gave me a memory stick with a series I’ve been wanting to rewatch on.
Read some of my new book.
The dog was ridiculously grateful for the leftover meaty lamb bone.
Had a lovely family evening.

we went out on the spur of the moment and spent several hours looking at steam engines and chatting to some lovely knowledgeable people. Fabulous.

mysparkleismissing · 31/03/2024 22:02

The traffic was on our side driving from Hertfordshire to Hampshire and back again was on our side, and didn't need to stop at the service either way

Was expecting a quiet lunch for 4. Snacking bits. Ended up making a roast dinner for 7 when 3 x dc text to say they would be here... Lovely day!

WoodBurningStov · 31/03/2024 22:03

Had a day out with dh and my dd (not my dh's dd) and we had a lovely day. No one fell out and we had lots of fun

Sagarmatha · 31/03/2024 22:04

Played Perudo with my kids and parents all afternoon. It's the only game my dad can still play (he has Alzheimers)

Also played Consequences, which I've not played since I was at school.

It was great.

I had promised my daughter an ice cream from our favourite place but I got the time wrong and we arrived a few minutes after it closed. Cue devastated sobs because we move 200 miles away this week and she goes to her Nan's tomorrow. A customer spotted her distress and suggested I ask at the staff door as one of the people was still there - he was very happy to help. They only had a little left, but there was one of her favourite flavours. I don't think I have ever nearly cried with relief over ice cream!

JustJessi · 31/03/2024 22:05

I’m glad you’ve made me stop and realise:

Walked the dog, did two loads of laundry, fed the baby successfully, and made a nice lamb dinner.

DH put two shelves up and fully painted the baby’s bedroom.

Very pregnant, and struggling with even small tasks!

MysweetAudrina · 31/03/2024 22:07

Did a hot yoga class this morning. Arrived back from a few days break with my dd yesterday evening and a good friend dropped over and invited us over to his for dinner today. He had been slow cooking a massive leg of lamb for 36 hours and had big bowls of lamb stew and new potatoes ready for us all when we arrived over.

Ohhhthedrama · 31/03/2024 22:08

Spent the morning with my Mil having coffee & hot cross buns. Quick bike ride with the kids this afternoon. I had planned to make a roast but just couldn't muster up the enthusiasm, so we had Thai food instead. Fabulous

SummerGardener · 31/03/2024 22:11

We had reasonable amounts of Easter chocolate, not the ridiculous piles DC used to have when younger. And it didn't all get demolished in one hit!

Avatartar · 31/03/2024 22:11

DC squabbling and whacking each other was less than normal
Did loads of washing and line dried it
small wins, happy days

KnickerlessParsons · 31/03/2024 22:14

My salmon and asparagus quiche. It was delicious.

Citrusandginger · 31/03/2024 22:15

Loving day three of four days off and being pretty lazy.

Dogs were thrilled that the clocks have gone forward and everything is early. Especially dinner.

Dinner was really tasty.

I had a nice afternoon nap 💤 and discovered 1980s Miss Marple, the proper Joan Hickson ones, on UK Drama.

Still one more day off yay!

Lurleene · 31/03/2024 22:15

I visited the spot where we scattered my Mum's ashes a few months ago - and daffodils had sprung up right where we left her. It was lovely to see, very apt for Easter day.

FiveGoMadInDorset · 31/03/2024 22:16

Didn’t have to do a 7 hour round trip to the other side of Brighton today and did some more of my cross stitch, knitted, watched The Great Escape, a film with the kids and my Tesco order for Tuesday

Soberfutures · 31/03/2024 22:16

Made a lovely roast lamb ( though the kids won't eat it) but was praised by the ex DH for it as we try to make an effort. He even didn't argue with my mum lol.

Watched barbie movie. 😍 then cried so much it hurt. Tho it did break a barrier between me and my teen xxx

grafittiartist · 31/03/2024 22:19

Painted the fence after adding to the to do list for 4/5 years.
Got a cheese toastie in a TGTG bag.
Enjoyed my favourite radio program.

SiobhanSharpe · 31/03/2024 22:21

On crutches ATM after knee replacement surgery this week; it's been hard and very painful but I managed to walk up and down the kitchen and conservatory five times. (Quite a big distance for me.) Also i no longer need the 'toilet frame' the hospital insisted I would .
So it's getting easier - slowly.

chocolatefordays · 31/03/2024 22:22

Packed for Holiday tomorrow, ironed and laid out all of our outfits and prepared travel snacks! Feeling very smug sat here with Tea and an Easter egg Smile

RosaRoja · 31/03/2024 22:23

I made some cookies which didn’t come out well (bizarre, it wasn’t a new recipe), so I did some lemon muffins from a new recipe, and they were v nice. Spoke or saw all DCs, spoke with my parents. Arranged to see some friends tomorrow and others next weekend.
