Travelator at the airport.

Especially when, as happened this morning, there is no one else on it because I love walking as fast I can and feeling like some kind of superhero striding out.

Conversely, I am most disappointed when there are lots of people and my childish glee has to be contained - and when someone has the temerity to block both lanes so I can't get past I feel deflated.

What childish things do you still get excited by as an adult?

I also keep my cats whiskers. I keep his fluff after grooming, too. He's a ragdoll so very floofy. Any knotty bits get chucked outside for the birds to line their nests with. The soft bits are kept and I use them to felt with.

The white spots and stalk on this toadstool are made from his fluff. Recyclable parts of my cat that I can keep for years!

Oooh the little cat floof toadstool is so lovely Smile

I don;t brush our cats ( they are DSH Moggies ) just sigh at the ammount they moult.

@MargaretThursday You quoting that poem has made me ridiculously excited! I was at a NT property last weekend and delighted to see that poem written on a chalkboard underneath the most beautiful tree that was truly “wearing white for Eastertide”. Love Housman ❤️

Winning my dc at dots and thumb war
Please explain!

Dots is a game I used to play with my friends at high school. You draw a grid of dots and take it in turns to draw a given number of lines connecting 2 dots together vertically or horizontally. If you make an open box with 3 sides joined, your opponent can then close it and claim it as theirs. The person with the most closed boxes at the end wins.

Thumb war is where you and an opponent lock fingers with both your thumbs up. Introduce it with, "1,2,3,4, I declare a thumb war!" and then you have to try and catch and hold down your opponent's thumb for a count to three to win.

Crikey, I’d forgotten about this!! 😲
I think we called it ‘squares?’ Haven’t played it for many years!!

It might have been squares rather than dots but it used to keep us entertained for ages and it still does with my dc!
