Best way to make a bacon sandwich

I've just had a bacon sandwich 😍

I don't eat bacon very often because I only like it the way I cook it at home- very well done with every single bit of fat cut off. I make myself a bacon sandwich maybe once a month when I get a craving, probably a good thing given the way I like to cook it!

IMO this is the only way to make a bacon sandwich:

All the fat cut off
Fried in too much butter til basically caramelised
On white bread or sourdough with more butter and brown sauce

Served with a glass of orange juice with bits.

Surely this can't be topped!

Butter on a morning roll
Airfry bacon
Fry egg and tattie scone
Wee bit brown sauce

With a coffee or tea

With orange juice? No. It has to be with a good mug of tea.

Dry cured bacon
Reasonably crispy
Lurpak
White stottie
HP or Daddies

Streaky or back unsmoked bacon.

I don't fry mine at home, it goes under the grill but like griddled bacon.

I like it crispy/almost cremated and find I don't need to cut the fat off if it's cooked how I like it.

If it's undercooked as it usually will be if I don't cook it at home then I like the fat removed.

Thick white bread or a soft white roll and lots of butter and brown sauce.

Massive mug of tea to go with it please.

Two slices of white bloomer bread. Butter on the bottom slice, thin spread of brown sauce on the top.
Several slices of grilled Ayrshire middle bacon with the fat just turning crispy.

Put it all together and fill your face!

With garlic mayonnaise.

Wang it in the airfryer for 8 minutes. White buttered bread. Brown sauce.
If you use good ingredients you don't need to dick about with it too much.

Bacon in an airfryer goes weird. Same as chicken breasts do

This causes riots in our house as we all like it differently!

DH likes so crispy it’s almost cremated streaky bacon, egg, butter but no sauce in a roll or on brown bread.

DS likes back bacon on sourdough bread, with butter and ketchup and a runny fried or poached egg on the side so he can dip.

I like grilled smoked streaky bacon, lots of butter, ketchup and cheap sliced white.

My perfect bacon sandwich:

2 or 3 rashers of smoked, back bacon, grilled until crispy
White bread fresh from bakers
Lightly buttered
Thinly sliced button mushrooms fried in butter
Cut into 4 triangles
Tomato and brown sauce on the side for dipping some mouthfuls

Streaky bacon placed in a cold pan, no oil, heat up and cook till crispy

In between slices of my home baked white loaf with ketchup, mayo and mustard and lettuce

Am I the only one who prefers bacon just cooked through, I hate crispy bacon.

Never tried it with garlic mayonnaise (adds to shopping list) but mayonnaise is perfect on a bacon sandwich.

Grill or oven cook smoked streaky or middle till crispy. Thick, white sliced with Welsh salted butter on one side and fruity or brown sauce on the other.

Agree. Can't stand a bacon sandwich where the bread sticks in the roof of your mouth.

Lightly toasted bread. Butter. Very crispy bacon. Slice of mature cheddar with the bacon pushed in firmly to slightly melt the cheese. Tomato sauce.

Literally just had a bacon sarnie! Dry cured bacon from butchers. Cut rind off, leave fat on. Cremated grilled so the fat goes crispy. Wholemeal bread*, buttered and slathered in ketchup. Wash it down with a lovely strong cup of tea and a browse on mumsnet.

I don't get the love for butter on a bacon sandwich. It doesn't need it. Nor could I drink a hot drink with food.

I agree with others who have said they never order them out. There are just too many variables.

I don't eat pork so have La vie vegan bacon. Fried in butter until crispy and then sandwiched between two slices of buttered white bread with HP sauce. Downed with a cup of tea.

Crispy bacon fried in butter, a slice of bread fried in the pan after, and a unfried slice buttered, load with the bacon, then brie and cranberry sauce 😋

Crispy smoked bacon. I don't mind a bit of fat but not a lot.

Fresh sliced wine tomatoes
Mayonnaise (I don't mind garlic mayo but not a game changer for me)
Gooood bread or bap
I prefer granary bap. But equally happy with a good sour dough.

Sometimes lettuce or avocado.
