Not wanting to go on a girls weekend if sharing a hotel room?

I've been invited on a 3 night long weekend break.
With a friend and 2 of her friends.
Thing is it's all of us in one room with bunkbeds.
They want cheap and cheerful and this is where they picked.
Room looks tiny
I like my own space and for 3 nights it seems like hell.
Would anyone else be put off too ?

That's a deal breaker for me. I'm too old for 'sleepovers' and I'm really crabby if I don't get enough sleep and privacy.

I wouldn't go on the weekend.

seaisamazing · 21/03/2024 21:09

Yes just buy your own room 👍

Viewfrommyhouse · 21/03/2024 21:10

I wouldn't fancy that either, but I'd enjoy the weekend itself, so I'd just book my own room.

seaisamazing · 21/03/2024 21:10

But defo go 🥳

fruitbrewhaha · 21/03/2024 21:11

Could you suggest two twin rooms?

pinkgirls · 21/03/2024 21:12

All of the rooms are for 4 people
It's more like a hostel than hotel or I would.
I didn't know if I was being a bit snobby not wanting to share a room

It would be a nope from me.

I'd have been up for it in my early twenties but 30 years on, I like my sleep and privacy, thanks very much!

DodgeDoggie · 21/03/2024 21:12

with good friends I’d be fine sharing

Nubbled · 21/03/2024 21:13

Absolutely not

YesThatsATurdOnTheRug · 21/03/2024 21:13

I've done this with close friends but not sure about with two I didn't know.

User1979289 · 21/03/2024 21:16

NOPE!

LadyWiddiothethird · 21/03/2024 21:16

I don’t share nowadays, couldn’t even do one night.Would not enter my head that you were being snobby.

applepig · 21/03/2024 21:16

I love sharing with my friends it's fun.

YireosDodeAver · 21/03/2024 21:16

Yanbu

I am "on the periphery" of a group of women who like doing this (I am included because my DH is close friends with some of their DHs but I don't know them that well)

I went on one such holiday and found it very unpleasant to be so crowded with people I don't know well. I don't think it would be much better with people I do kmow well.

Subsequent occasions I have separately booked my own room for one night and joined them for an evening of fun then gone to bed solo at a time of my own choosing in peace and quiet.

If all the rooms at this hostel are 4 beds then look for a different accommodation option nearby with normal rooms

LindorDoubleChoc · 21/03/2024 21:16

I wouldn't go.

Wowzel · 21/03/2024 21:17

I wouldn't mind this at all, but appreciate that it bothers some people

Mazuslongtoenail · 21/03/2024 21:18

Weirdly I’d be okay with bunks and 4 people but not a twin room with one other person.

I think bunks feel more private than single beds with a small gap between them.

And if someone farts it’s not as obvious who.

Chrispackhamspoodle · 21/03/2024 21:20

All my friends know I don't share anymore.I'm a light sleeper and we are all at the age where we are likely to snore.I just book my own room.

OmniPresents · 21/03/2024 21:23

No way would I share a room - I need my own space. Especially for 3 nights!

Plus I snore so best I'm in a room on my own 😂

herecomesthesun24 · 21/03/2024 21:25

No, would have in my 20s not in my 40s.

It'll be quite the queue for the bathroom.

CandidFruit · 21/03/2024 21:27

No thank you!
I don’t want to spend all day and all night with three other people.
I like my own space at night.

MolkosTeenageAngst · 21/03/2024 21:28

I wouldn’t mind sharing a room with single beds but wouldn’t fancy being on a top bunk (or sharing a double bed although doesn’t sound like that’s an option here).

DrRichardWebber · 21/03/2024 21:30

I would 100% not do this.

Naptimeagain · 21/03/2024 21:30

If you feel awkard telling them you don't want to share, you could say you snore and don't want to keep them awake so getting your own room.

A lot of hostels have double rooms, so you could book one for your sole use.

HollywoodTease · 21/03/2024 21:32

I'd go as long as I could have a bottom bunk, fuck climbing ladders at my age!
