Going out for dinner. I’d much rather go out for breakfast or lunch. Night time is for being all snuggly and warm at home. God I sound boring.

Also summer. Too hot and too many expectations, I get weird anxiety fomo. I prefer spring and autumn.

We realised this over lockdown. Now we go out for breakfast/ lunch together once a week, just the 2 of us. It's lovely. There's no alcohol involved so my post menopausal sleep is not buggered up, it's cheaper, the food is simpler and nicer, the music is quieter/ not there at all so you can chat properly. I'm asleep by 9pm and it's cold and dark at night. Much nicer to be out in the daylight.

Any dark coloured living room.. farrow and ball are just trying to sell you paint, and want you to paint it over again in two years cos it's so oppressive. And sell you primer too to cover up the Hague Blue and Railings.

Designer bags
Sushi
Kitchen islands. You really know that you don't need one because you mostly reheat pre prepared food and if you don't then you don't need one as you use a chopping board near the cooker .

Joined up handwriting?

That seems quite a niche dislike there..😂

I mean it’s no more niche than all the other things in this thread!

I remember not being allowed a pen in primary school because my handwriting wasn’t joined up. I felt really stupid.

Now I work in primary schools and still think it’s fucking stupid that they’re still bloody banging on about it. Poor kids.

The Traitors, including Claudia Winkleman, can't stand her.

Also, totally agree about salted caramel. Really pisses me off that you can't get a dessert with normal caramel anymore when you go out for a meal 😡

yep absolutely hate salted caramel it's shit what dickhead thought that one up! very difficult to find just normal caramel on anything anymore, it gives me that rage!

White wine
Facials
Spa day
Prosecco
Pulled pork/beef or whatever they “pull”. Yuk
Play dates
School gate mum friends

Oh no I love all these things! Maybe not that keen on facials and spa days are too expensive, (did an evening one recently with a friend to keep the price down, that was nice) - but the rest are great.

The friend was a Mum friend from primary school - she is my one really good friend from then but we have a group of two others (and DHs) where we meet up every so often and have good times. But also I know I could ring and say 'help I've broken down' and they would help if they could, that sort of friend. So school gate Mums are not always awful.

And play dates is a dreadful name but I learned to embrace it because it's a great thing! Kids love playing with their friends. We live in the back of beyond so no village green to congregate - all meet ups had to be pre-arranged and driven to, since DCs were in reception. Apart from the admin, and maybe feeding random kids (worse when they have sleepovers.....😀) - surely it's just something to suck up so your kids have fun and learn to socialise.....?

And when they go home you have the wine and prosecco.......😁
