Is Rishi on the way out? Could the Tories really be contemplating replacing him at this point in time?

He has no hope of getting a deal with India before a GE. Not least of all because India isn't going to waste time negotiating with a pathetically weak PM and his zombie government.

That's the best time to negotiate. And i can see Rish! giving India unlimited visas to spite Labour.

There won't be an election until January 2025 - Sunak loves power, he'll cling to it as long as possible as he knows that whenever he calls an election, the Tories are toast.

I think Rish! loves money more than power, and is hanging on in the hope that the "much vaunted" India trade deal will deliver him a multi-billion pound payday. That deal is currently behind schedule (because India is in election mode) hence the election is behind schedule.

Maybe, though of course power often equals money or the promise of more to come!

India & no doubt Sunak wants visas but the Tory supporting media do not, neither do large sections of his party, so i think any deal is off the cards.

Like i said, he will lose whenever he calls an election, his party is now a sick joke with the public.... so he will cling on as long as possible.

Sunak doesn't give a shit what the Tory party want - nor does he have to worry about them.

If India are recalcitrant about a trade deal now, it's more likely they reckon long term pressure on Starmer is more in their [elites] interests than piddling around with Rish!

One of the largest groups that benefitted from the Tories 2019 relaxation of student visa rules was Indian students on taught post grad courses who together with their families came to the UK in large numbers. There is some evidence that Rishi's u-turn on that kind of visa has impacted migrant numbers.
Will he go the full 360 with a trade deal?

Hilarious that Rish! association with trainers causes the brand value to drop

Is he going to go full William Hague and wear a baseball cap?

I'm sure Ryanair would do it for a large fee. After all, they don't have much of a reputation to spoil.
