Penny Mordaunt 😂😂😂

Absolutely! It’s so weird that people even care.

The Tories are finished!! And by the time they get to another election, there’ll be less old people and more young people voting to keep them out.

Its a disgrace what they’ve done to this country.

Bobbotgegrinch · 17/03/2024 10:50

I strongly doubt she's interested right now. There's no point becoming leader now while they're heading into a general election they're definitely going to lose.

Far better to wait until the inevitable defeat, take over then and be leader of the opposition for a few years without any of the baggage.

Zonder · 17/03/2024 10:52

Riverlee · 17/03/2024 10:43

I’ll be honest, I don’t know what she’s like as a politician.

However, I was impressed with her dignity and solemness and calmness when she did the official swearing in of Charles when he became king. Also, carrying that sword… !

Perhaps we could make this the deciding factor and save time on all that voting.

It worked for King Arthur...

User135644 · 17/03/2024 10:58

She should have been made leader instead of Truss but the Daily Mail ran a smear campaign and wanted their 'true Tory budget'.

Flapjacker48 · 17/03/2024 10:59

She is another useless airhead.

It doesn't matter what flag you stick on top of a pile of shit, it's still a pile of shit.

Yeah because that's an important qualification for a PM. Being able to hold a sword for hours.

Perhaps we should bring back jousting to decide who's PM

Startingagainandagain · 17/03/2024 11:00

We need a general election so people can decide who should be the next PM.

That’s not what general elections are for. They are to decide the ruling party, you don’t vote for a pm. For obvious reasons, they change who leads the party.

Miaow…

NotDavidTennant · 17/03/2024 11:05

Why would she even want it? 6 months as PM and then a trouncing at the general election.

Freakinfraser · 17/03/2024 11:05

LightSwerve · 17/03/2024 10:23

This is incorrect - when PMs are head of the party in an election we all get to factor that in.

You can factor it in ll you wish, but you factually are not electing a pm.

It appears to be the basis on which a lot of people are deciding she's suitable.

For obvious reasons they usually do not, in fact, change who leads the party, and certainly not on an annual basis. The only reason the Tories have ended up doing so is because the leaders they have had have royally fucked up and have been unable to govern their own party, never mind the country.

I think she's probably confident enough (other words sprang to mind but that was the kindest) to think she can turn it around.

Stop being obtuse and I don't need a lesson in what a GE is.

If you vote labour at the next election you know full well you will get Starmer as PM.

Just like people who voted for the Tories last time knew they were getting Johnson as PM.

The point I was making, as you well know I would say, is that we have been through several useless Tory PMs by now and that this farce has gone for long enough so it is time for a general election.

Talk about purposely missing the point...

usernother · 17/03/2024 11:14

I thought Penny had said that men can become women. For that reason, it's a no from me.

ilovesooty · 17/03/2024 11:14

lavenderlou · 17/03/2024 10:16

Pointless. PM was a candidate in a previous leadership contest and didn't get enough support. They can't just keep rotating the leadership and expect everyone to forget about how utterly dreadful the entire government has been.

While I largely agree with your post, she was stitched up to get Liz Truss on the ballot for the membership.

beeonmybonnett · 17/03/2024 11:16

Who knows what will happen. Even if the Tories don’t get a majority at the next GE, who’s to say they won’t secure a coalition arrangement with another party just as Cameron did with the Lib Dems in 2010?

I agree but Liz Truss (disgracefully imho) qualified for the £115,000 annual stipend awarded to ex pms after only 44 days in office so it’s obviously worth it financially! And she did it having caused a massive financial crisis.

lurchersforever · 17/03/2024 11:20

According to the polls they are not going to be in a position to form a coalition, and, if they were, with whom?? The only party they remotely align with is Reform, and they're not going to be in a position to be king-makers. It's not 2010.

We need a general election to let people decide who they want to represent them. Anyone foolish enough to vote for the current crop of Conservatives deserve everything they get. Sadly they inflict the shite (in the rivers and seas) on the rest of us. This lot have made every single person I know have a worse life. Through wrecking the economy via Brexit for decades and the Tuss budget. they have shattered public respect of parliament (partygate, prorogue of parliament, dodgy contracts, anything lee Anderson, Johnson, Rees Mogg has ever done), made the rich richer than they ever have been. Sold off the NHS. Not sorted out gender bollocks despite being in power for over a decade, stirred up racial hatred just to stay in power.
Penny represents all of that

This is just pointless proficating and is utterly cringe. We call all post the same. Anyone foolish enough to vote for the current crop of labour/lib dem, deserve everything they get.

at least form a cohesive argument as there is no credibility when it’s just insults.
