Kate's photo appears "manipulated"?

Have just seen news saying that associated press have withdrawn photo as it appears "manipulated". V strange

It's actually all making me feel a bit sick.

Did it have to come to this?

It's reminding me of Evita Peron...Juan Peron paraded her through the streets of Buenos Aires, with her stood up in a vehicle and waving to celebrate his second term in office (which he'd never have got without her). She was wearing a huge furcoat and a steel cage had been built around her to hold her up because she was too weak to stand, she was dying of uterine cancer and had been lobotomised. All done because they were trying to keep up appearances for the public.

Now of course, this is nowhere near as bad but it's also not right.

We're being lied to and it's taking some effort.

They should have just ignored the speculation rather than fake an image.

She's allowed to be ill and need time off.

People aren't going to let it go now until they physically see her in person, which I hope isn't forced upon her before she's ready.

Do you think the children all planned to cross their fourth finger and their middle finger on one hand? Sort of thing my siblings would do-something to spot in every photo and see how long we could get away with it.

Not an expert but it does appear Charlotte is wearing boots with a heel on only one foot. The other is flat.

The first time I saw the picture, I thought it looked too polished. Two things for me were Kate’s teeth & that her lap / middle area (the abdomen) look to be darkened, faded away.

Wonder what William took the photo with. A phone that employs AI so that you get the best bits of 5 shots, so everyone is smiling maybe? Google pixel phones do something similiar.
These flaws do look possibly like Ai mistakes, things not lining up is a classic and missing digits (though I think the fingers are fine).

If it is a hemicolectomy that's major surgery, my aunt had the same a couple of years ago, she's very healthy, very very fit and it still knocked her for six for a good while. I don't really get why there's is so much speculation and conspiracy theories though, the original statement said she was having abdominal surgery and would be back to work after Easter, it's not Easter yet.

Of course she is allowed to be ill etc however I think many women of her age who would have had some sort of abdominal surgery would have recovered by now, with the only rest being post op and back home to the kids to sort...

As much as I don't want to be interested (!), a couple of details pointed out do look to be manipulation - but I think that's the only reason AP etc have pulled it; they don't publish doctored pictures for integrity's sake. It doesn't have to mean something sinister.

If showing the picture was an attempt at some sort of cover up, I'd expect the reps of the Royal Family to do a better job!

I do find it odd that she would be wearing tightly fitted jeans and sitting outside . The abdominal area is also very darkened as mentioned above.

Because half the time, what actually happens versus what the truth is can be two different things, especially when shows like 'Spooks' give insights into how some fictional events can happen, etc.

Which is fine and obviously she can take as much time as she needs. So why didn’t they just post a picture of some flowers or the kids and say Happy Mother’s Day, why the need for this photo?? It seems all very odd.

Not if she's had something major like a re-section, whipple etc. Age has nothing to do with it if it's MAJOR, high risk abdominal surgery like a hemi-colectomy as some people suggest.

There was a Broadway actress 10 years younger than Kate who recently needed parts of her colon and bowel removed due to IBD, then a stoma bag, then a J Pouch fitted. Her surgeries and recovery took almost two years from start to finish and she was dreadfully ill though you'd have never have known it watching her on stage immediately before her first surgery.
