If the thread is nauseating you then that’s your problem, telling people to shut the fuck is up is controlling and policing the thread.

I didn't tell people to shut the fuck up. I asked if they would now stop rambling on about such a trivial manner with such fake anger. Ridiculous. I wonder if people realise how daft they look.

The editing on the photos is strange. Normally if you are editing (as an amateur) to improve an overall image then you adjust the light, crop, filter, sharpen, adjust saturation, etc. But this seems like the integrity of the photo has been messed with as there are alterations to specific odd parts of the image, a sleeve, a zip, etc. I would be interested to hear from an expert on whether it appears that separate images have been spliced together. If that is what was done it seems a bizarre error of judgement and also incredible that it was so sloppy. Then question is then, why lie with a photo?

This is what I said upthread too. Photo editing to such an extent is bizarre.

These aren’t babes in arms, they are kids old enough to pose and have done many times. The need to move hands around or whatever is so strange.

I feel Kate is taking the fall for the image. Maybe William hit the roof and they realised the only way the whole thing will die down is if Kate takes personal responsibility because she's the person at the centre of it all.

Find it hard to believe that after so many decades as one of the most famous people on the planet and getting photographed for a living, she doesn't have an inkling of what images can be released via news agencies. And that nobody from the PR team or any of their personal assistants caught the mistakes while checking it over?

The image was definitely not just lifted from their social media. There was an extremely high-resolution version in circulation, probably distributed via AP, Getty, Reuters etc. The DM published an extreme close-up of Charlottes hand in a level of detail that's impossible to achieve from a social media jpg.

And it's easier if it's seen to come from her as there is the obvious sympathy angle they can use.

Crackermuncher · 11/03/2024 11:30

@SiriAlexa i agree. It would have been such an easy explanation to say William had taken the photo with an image merging function on his phone, which the general public are familiar with, but it seems looking at the image that it’s a more complex photoshop /splicing attempt, and they realise this excuse wouldn’t stand up to further analysis.

Your actual words were ‘Now will people shut the fuck up?’

Why are you desperate to stop people ‘rambling’? Other threads are available.

Crumpleton · 11/03/2024 11:33

Anyway....
Kate doctored, or should i say edited it herself...
Prince William has just apologised on her behalf.

Agreed, these agencies don’t issue these statements for images taken from social media.

You literally said ' Will people shut the fuck up now'. It's in black and white.

Bullshit, she has been harassed with wild theories since they announced her serious health issue, haven’t seen much sympathy for her from a lot of posters on here. On the contrary, in fact.

Edited

I thought Kate apologised?

That’s why it doesn’t ring true. The “edits” are not what you’d do as an amateur to touch up a pic.

My guess is: following surgery Kate is on some kind of steroid treatment - which is why she was seen looking puffy in the car. She doesnt want to be seen out in public until she’s recovered - absolutely fair enough.

The dire comms to the media have fuelled wild speculation, someone at the palace has panicked, touched up an existing pic that had not been released to take the heat off, and simply made things worse.

The trouble is that both Will and Kate are now directly involved in the lie. It’s def a pro shot for whch Kate has had her hair and make up done, and I don’t believe she’s the one who edited it.

PurplePansy05 · 11/03/2024 11:37

Can anyone with understanding of the grounds on which the agencies reject a photo could calmly explain in a bit more detail, please?

I saw they used some photoshop when it was published, but it's not the first time and I didn't care. Previous photos were never rejected by any news agencies despite touch ups.

What is the issue here, are the agencies saying it's not a real image effectively?

Catsfrontbum · 11/03/2024 11:37

It’s still not a recent or accurate pic of Kate which makes it still suspicious.

They should have issued statements saying things along the way. The whole thing has been badly done.

I have a lot of sympathy for Kate.
But I think it was a mistake to release this heavily doctored photo. It does need to be called out. We cannot accept fake news.

Achillo · 11/03/2024 11:38

She doesn't actually say she did it at all though. It is cleverly worded to make you think she says that.
All she says is that she uses Photoshop.
Their is nothing specific to this photo.
That could not be taken as a statement saying she edited it.

Maybe the press know the real story here but for legal reasons can't say so they've made an issue if this photo to force the story out without getting themselves in trouble ??

Or maybe the Princess of Wales did a shit amateur job of editing a photo to try and improve it.

Franker · 11/03/2024 11:41

I think treating the press and public like bloody idiots isn't a great long term strategy tbh

This latest explanation isn't going to age well.

CwmYoy · 11/03/2024 11:41

I said, "now will people shut the fuck up?" Note the question mark. I assume you realise it was a question.

MaggieFS · 11/03/2024 11:42

WHAT A PR SHIT SHOW!

Broadly, I don't buy into any of the conspiracies or doom mongering. I can't remember which thread it was on here a few weeks ago, but I know I was saying things like "they've said she'll be back at Easter, pipe down and wait" and had short shrift for the posters demanding "oh but, just a statement" or "oh but, just a photo" or "oh but, just a thanks message". And I still agree with that. But even then, said the PR was not being well managed.

However, this photo was blatantly edited, and it was flipping naive to release it.

Someone needs to take the twitter log in away from W&C.

CwmYoy · 11/03/2024 11:42

Er yes, you did, at 11:09am

No. I asked a question. Your ignorance of grammar is not my fault.

MuggedByReality · 11/03/2024 11:44

I really hope for Kate’s sake that the media can’t prove the image wasn’t actually edited by her and that her statement is yet another lie…

This! She made rookie mistakes. Maybe there was a snot on charlottes sleeve and she wanted to sort it out.

calling it ‘heavily doctored’ is such an exaggeration.

Crackermuncher · 11/03/2024 11:46

Isn’t it also slightly worrying that William and Kate are so untrusting of their inner circle of staff, that they’ve resorted to taking their own pictures , editing them , and releasing them themselves with no interception from anyone?
There are presumably a lot of people being paid an awful lot of money to do these jobs, yet they’re not being allowed to do them?
