I imagine the boards will be quiet for most of today but I need a distraction and chatter.

So what was the last non-essential thing you bought?

For me it was the 2023 Barbie film on dvd

New sofas! Two of them to be precise. To replace the old sofas in the second living room /play room; which sounds posher than it is. 😂

ours In there are over 20 years old and done in. They just are not comfy anymore, dated and quite faded. It’s one of those things you don’t really need to do so put it off.

but this morning we said sod it, it’s time, and ordered new ones. I’m hoping it makes the room much more usable, with comfy seating, and appealing to be in there, as unless someone is gaming we avoid it like the plague.

Mint chocolate cornettos, really fancied some ice cream.

LBOCS2 · 10/03/2024 19:12

We bought 6x strawberry plants, 3x tomato plants and 4 packets of seeds yesterday which were pretty non essential.

Today I bought a new lampshade and bedside lamps for the DDs bedroom. Not strictly essential but something I've been meaning to get for them for a while.

Bluevelvetsofa · 10/03/2024 19:17

@Lovetok

oooh FAB, do you live somewhere you can get to snow easily or will you just have to be forced to find a resort with some snow & go away?

Sadly we live in rainy old England but close to a snowdome. And we go on snowboarding holiday once a year. My next non-essential spend might be Burton step on bindings and boots 😬😬😬

A contouring powder BNWT from the Scope shop for £1.00
Never used it before so the results could be interesting Grin

2 of the Maybelline matte lip ink lipsticks - a red and a neutral. I'm impressed! I've had the neutral on since about mid day, eaten & drunk all day & it's still firmly in place! Just about to shower & wash it off now.

A mac red lipstick that goes pink after an hour. Not impressed

I bought a red one that seems to suck moisture from my lips within 15 minutes. Similarly unimpressed

A giraffe soft toy for my Labrador.

He is pining as we lost his sister ddog unexpectedly last week.

So I think it was quite essential really. And he does seem to love Giraffe a whole lot.

@isthismylifenow

oh bless, poor boy, I think Giraffe was essential!!

@Lovetok oh sorry to hear you're here too! I spent a few years living in meribel & StAnton. Loved it.

i don't like anywhere near a snow dome, but it doesn't matter as my knees a fucked now, so can't ski anyway 🥲(couldn't snowboard when my knees worked!! I was a planker!!
