Mosaic Portrait - Experian Consumer Information Portal (experianmarketingservices.digital)

Over 150 different segments. Apparently I live in a budget generation area.
So many to choose from.
They then sell this data to marketing companies to do what they want with it.

Used to use Mosaic profiling when I worked in fundraising, it helped decide which people on our database to contact by direct mail and what type of letter to use. The

Ours is pretty spot on although I’m surprised that the age average isn’t a wee bit lower. It’s an area where the majority of the houses were built about 60 years ago, people bought them with young families and stayed. The “younger” ones, like us (50s😂) have literally bought the houses when the original owners have died-people don’t move away from this area

Solid Economy

I live in a "shit hole" as per James Cleverly mind.

Good transport links - if you drive a car 😂

The rest is spot on. The one bar for broadband is the most accurate part.

Haha I got this one too, even though our postcode is the main road through the village... Otherwise not far off though except for 3 buses a day not really being good transport links, guess they must mean by car

Myotheripodisayoto · 07/03/2024 10:43

Diamond days but should be alpha families imho. The demographic in our road has shifted a lot (elderly replaced by families) in the last two years so its probably old data.

Same here.
The Diamond Days folk have recently cashed in and replaced by affluent families

Thriving Independence, which apparently is mostly older single people. Which is interesting as 4/5 in our postcode are all married.

Same here... only a couple of my neighbours are single!

The description isn't very accurate for my postcode. It's pretty bang on for where my parents live - Diamond Days.

My sister's postcode seems completely off for where she lives, so don't know what that's all about!!

Ihavenoclu · 07/03/2024 11:49

uptown elite. As if 😆

LondonPapa · 07/03/2024 11:50

Uptown Elite. I agree with nearly all but escorted holidays, no thank you!

donothing · 07/03/2024 11:50

N.B. It doesn't seem to like spaces in the postcode, so put it in with no gaps to get a result

ThanksItHasPockets · 07/03/2024 11:53

Cafes and Catchments. Spot-on all round for us, including the mode age bracket.

MabelsBeats · 07/03/2024 11:54

Premium fortunes.

It was created in 2020 and likely used data up to 2019. I suspect a lot has changed since then, Brexit has gone through properly, COVID etc. Very out of date by now for some areas.

Paintmybathroom · 07/03/2024 11:57

Primary Ambitions - Families with school-age children who have bought the best house they can afford within popular neighbourhoods.

That's us! And the last couple of houses that have sold on our street. So looks pretty accurate 😆

Andrasa · 07/03/2024 12:06

Ooh we got the twat one! Not surprised, houses are quite big for the area and we seem to get all the fundraisers and other flavours of god botherers. Interestingly it’s a new postcode with development only starting in 2020 so not sure what historic data it had.

Families on a budget
All about right except the ages should be older, there are a lot of elderly people here.
Maybe the guy's grey beard alludes to this
🙂

HenriettaTheVIII · 07/03/2024 12:34

Penthouse chic which is about 95% correct

thesugarbumfairy · 07/03/2024 12:35

Contemporary Starts.
Young families and singles setting up home in modern developments that are popular with there peers.

Well that's relatively accurate in this postcode as its a new build estate which is commutable to London. I mean it doesn't describe us as we are middle aged with teenagers.

Colinfromaccounts24 · 07/03/2024 12:35

Satellite Settlers - mature households living in developments around larger villages with good transport links. Partly accurate, I think it might be out of date and would have been more accurate 10-20 years ago. We are actually in the middle of a village (there are no satellite developments here...yet) and lots of commuter families moving in replacing older 'locals'. Most people that move in have toddlers. People come for the schools. Our street is full of families with primary age children rather than 'mature' households. We are one of them, moved here 6 years ago. There is a bit of a divide between the 'locals' and the 'incomers', including which of the two village pubs you go to.

AlltheFs · 07/03/2024 12:36

Village retirement

Which is fair. I mean we are in a village and a lot of the population is older. We aren’t that old though.

MsAnnFrope · 07/03/2024 12:52

One postcode for our road is modern Parents and one is families ties. Which cover the demographic pretty accurately.

Overtheatlantic · 07/03/2024 12:54

Metro high flyers 😂

Gasp0deTheW0nderD0g · 07/03/2024 12:54

I put in my Mum's postcode.

Outlying Seniors. Pensioners living in inexpensive housing in out of the way locations. Few qualifications. Low incomes.

Well, the odd word is right. Most of the people on her street are retired, but they certainly aren't living on low incomes, and the group's jobs at retirement include professor, nurse, teacher, solicitor and senior manager. It's definitely out of the way, though! No ferry shown in the transport section. Co-op, Morrisons and Lidl shown as the supermarket choices. Only one of those actually operates on the island, and the nearest one on the mainland is ASDA. Still, it's obviously a catch all category for odd postcodes dotted around rural areas of the UK that don't fit anywhere else.

Calculuses · 07/03/2024 13:00

Well apparently I'm classic GPs and my parents who live literally 5 doors away are thriving independents

protectthesmallones · 07/03/2024 13:02

I've just done mine and for our area is very accurate. Not so much for our household but the immediate area yes.

polkadotpixie · 07/03/2024 13:02

Affordable fringe, I'd say that's pretty accurate
