Favourite foods you can't stop eating

For the second evening in a row I've skipped dinner and gone straight for a no cook plate of toast, duck and orange pate and cucumber. It's fattening but so addictive. The salty sweet pate and crunchy cucumber is so moreish.

What are your addiction inducing meals or snacks (dare I say 'picky bits')?

Pistachio nuts …only discovered them a few months ago and am totally addicted!

Vetoncall · 06/03/2024 22:49

These M&S hazelnut wafer rolls, I just don't buy them, they're like crack. Ditto the chocolate covered wafer bites from the same range.

Other things I rarely buy/eat but could happily eat every day:
Toast with butter and jam
Toast with pâté
Toast with butter and Dairylea cheese slices
Toast with avocado
Toasted onion and chive bagels (the ones in the green bag) with avocado
Double stuffed Oreos
Sour Patch Kids
Quavers
Tuc crackers with smoked cheese
Nutella, from the jar with a spoon
M&S mint baton things

I also love fruit and could eat my bodyweight in mango and raspberries.

Salt And vinegar Pringles
Peanut M&Ms
Even better when eaten together.
When dh and ds go out and won't be back for dinner that's what I have.

Sourdough bread with real butter and sometimes olive oil on top as well. Sourdough toast and butter.

Cannot ever buy those big bags of onion rings someone has already mentioned as I would not be able to stop eating them.

FijiSea · 06/03/2024 23:12

Cheese spread :
St Agur cream cheese spread
Seriously strong cheese spread
Galloway cheese spread
Any of these on any carb like a toasted bagel / cracker bread / toast 🤤

PeggyBoard · 06/03/2024 23:17

Sticks of celery with a scoop of Aldi extra mature cheese spread on every bite.
I don't even cut the stick up into smaller pieces, I just de-string it, then scoop, bite, scoop, bite until it's all gone.
Also any cheese flavoured biscuits such as mini cheddars or tuc, again dipped in the cheese spread or garlic and herb Philly.
Or Doritos, on an air fryer liner with loads of grated cheese and a quick blast in the air fryer until melted and bubbling.

Bombay Mix and ginger beer chaser

Watercress

lemonsaretheonlyfruit · 06/03/2024 23:24

I'm the only one in the house who likes crunchy peanut butter. I absolutely can't have it in the house as I will eat a whole jar (just on a tea spoon) in a couple of days. I can't stop!

Double toasted crumpets with loads of salted butter

Jacket potato (done in oven) with just salted butter or butter and cheese.

Laying in bed starving now

Fudgeytastic · 06/03/2024 23:30

My local co op do these cheese twist pastry things in the fresh bakery section and oh my god I am addicted to them. So much so one of the staff there has commented on how often I buy them Blush

Scorchio84 · 06/03/2024 22:32

Oh @QuestionableMouse I never thought of frying AFTER toasting! That's genius, thanks!

You're welcome!

Ohyeahwaitaminute · 06/03/2024 23:34

Anything cheesy, ranging from proper cheese straws to those cheesy footballs you only get at Christmas.

Neither get through the front door.

OnlyLoveCanBreakYourHeart · 06/03/2024 23:41

Iceland breakfast hash browns and poached eggs. I look forward to my wfh days just so I can have them for brunch.

louisejxxx · 06/03/2024 23:42

Ritz crackers & Philadelphia (just scoop it up with the cracker) - even better if you can put a slice of chorizo on top

Any Easter chocolate - mini eggs, Cadbury’s caramel egg….the mini egg bar of chocolate is dangerous 😳

Frazzles crisps

Justleaveitblankthen · 06/03/2024 23:45

Laughing Cow cheese triangles. I peel 'em and eat them straight out of the box 😁
Beat Dairylea hands down..and don't start me on the Lidl & Aldi abominations 🤢

MrsBennetsPoorNerves · 06/03/2024 23:47

I'm completely addicted to skyr (Icelandic yoghurt) and homemade berry compote. Can't get enough of it!!!

Tintackedsea · 06/03/2024 23:49

@FijiSea

Have you tried the President Brie cheese spread?

I really like the St Augur one but the Brie is next level.

NahNeedsGarlic · 06/03/2024 23:49

Cheese.

At the moment it’s kimchi, or saurkraut. I find myself sidling up to the fridge with a spoon for a fix.

Kimchi fried with thin sliced pork, put on top of a bowl of sticky rice. It's a common meal over here

If you're not on a diet wagon then you can grate cheese on top

ThisHonestQuail · 06/03/2024 23:51

Current faves:

Hummus on sourdough, finished off with chilli jam

Creamy mushroom and leek/bacon pasta

Veggie nachos

Tonys Chocolonely balls

mondaytosunday · 06/03/2024 23:51

OMG I made the mistake of buying a brioche loaf - that with bacon, cream cheese and apricot jam and just watch your waistband expand instantly but ooooohhhhh soooo goooood!

AlpacalypseLlamaggedon · 06/03/2024 23:56

I'm down to my last bag of Lidl Lebkuchen hearts with apricot jam. It's for the best that they are only available at Christmas or I would be even fatter.

onwardandupwards · 06/03/2024 23:57

Tinned pears covered in evaporated milk,
Beef jerky
Cheese strings

fancypants1989 · 07/03/2024 00:01

M&S jam and cream sandwich biscuits are to die for....
make tea, open biscuits, put 2/4 on plate to be non greedy. Realise that they're actually quite small and beautifully delicious so discard plate and scoff whole packet 😘

SqueakyDinosaur · 07/03/2024 00:11

Primula with prawns. I can eat a whole tube in one go, sometimes before I've even made it home from the supermarket.

Is it prawn flavoured cheese or chopped up prawns in squeezey cheese
