Can we discuss Geri

I never knew she started having a relationship with Christian Horner whilst his long term partner was pregnant.
And that Christian left his partner for Geri whilst his long term partner was heavily pregnant.
I've only found this out by seeing the story about Christian's text message scandal on the internet.
This is truly shocking to me.
Is it really true? Or has it been misreported or exaggerated online?
I know things get misreported online. But if it's true, then this will really badly affect my opinion of Geri, who I've always really liked a lot.
Secondly, I googled images of Geri, and I noticed every image of her shows her wearing white clothes. White dresses. White suits. White tops. White trousers. White skirts. White knitwear. White ski gear. White swimsuit. It struck me as a bit odd, even possibly showing a bit of an obsessive trait - having to wear the same colour all the time. Does anyone else find this a bit unsettling?
If anyone on here is lucky enough to know her, is Geri ok?

Geri has always been needy and obsessive. I read her book years ago, when she detailed (amongst many other issues), her eating disorder, and George Michael finding her eating stale cake from a dustbin. The Sun reports today that the much anticipated by the British press Spice Girls reunion tour will be cancelled, so that can only be a good thing.

everythinglooksbetterpaintedblack · 02/03/2024 12:17

@BrenePurple she is in Bahrain

@BrenePurple she is in Bahrain

Yes but that doesn’t mean she will attend the grid.

Who cares about Geri? She has just had a massive dose of public humiliation and karma.
She now knows how that feels.
He won't give a shit. He has no moral compass and the pr team will be working overtime trying to minimise it all.
I feel for his children and that's where my sympathy lies. It must be humiliating for them.

Totally agree I don’t think he cares, arrogance seems to ooze out of him

Their poor children 😰

Pickled21 · 02/03/2024 12:21

She chased him for years. Just being wealthy doesn't get you into the upper classes and we all know that old money can and often do look down on new money. Being with him would have introduced her to people she wouldn't have got access to otherwise.

As for wearing white, she looks fabulous. It's not a colour everyone can pull off but she can. She's obviously not worried about the impracticalities of it.

Do I feel sorry for her? No, you reap what you sow. He's no different to any other cheating arse.

Maybe the wearing white is because all is not what it seems in their relationship. She does this as a form of control in her life? He never really smiles when he is pictured with her. What a mess.

TabithaTwitchel · 02/03/2024 12:23

@Bestdressed karma really does not exist. In your mind, maybe. As a tangible concept? No.

How can it? If karma exists, why are evil people in prison who've murdered children (for example) alive and well? Being rehabilitated and released into society?

So no. It's really not a thing at all.

Regarding the OP, dunno. I read the reports but only in a detached way tbh. I don't know him or her so it has zero impact on my life

EdgarsTale · 02/03/2024 12:29

Ariona · 02/03/2024 10:36

So she reaped what she sowed. Can't feel an ounce of sympathy for her.

Agreed. Stupid woman.

WhatWhereWho · 02/03/2024 12:32

Remember EastEnders, Emmerdale, Coronation Street etc is on every week. That should satisfy your need for gossip.

Usernamechange1234 · 02/03/2024 12:34

No major interest in her but I felt some sympathy for her today after reading the headlines briefly.

Had no idea of the background. The sympathy has now evaporated.

Lie down with dogs etc…

What on earth do women see in these nasty selfish entitled men?

Karadis · 02/03/2024 12:34

🙄

Usernamewassavedsuccessfully · 02/03/2024 10:28

Starting a thread to bitch about another woman.
Nice.

This! Don't suppose your judgment of her will affect her in any way tbh

swayingpalmtree · 02/03/2024 12:36

It's sad for her but hardly surprising. If your husband was so easily persuaded to leave his pregnant partner to be with her then I'm not sure why she would think he wouldnt do it to her. It seems so obvious to me.

This is not me gloating btw or anything as it's horrible all around- especially for the children. I'm just wondering why women are shocked by this. It shows a pattern of behaviour and its very arrogant to assume it could never happen to you when he's done it so easily to another woman.

Be careful what you wish for.

kinkyredboots · 02/03/2024 12:36

She has always had a dubious taste in men. From her daughter's father (a 6 week relationship) to CH, she just seems to go for these types.

But she does seem to have done a great job raising her daughter who was kept out of the spotlight and does well as school.

Rosindub · 02/03/2024 12:37

Gibs0nGirl · 02/03/2024 10:57

Aww the poor guy, relentlessly pursued until he could do nothing but fuck someone who wasn't his wife.

I mean...what? He's been proven twice now at a minimum to be a cheater, but we're positioning her as some kind of lure. It's an old old trope.

Fuck sake.

It's Mumsnet. Always the fault of the woman who 'stole' the poor innocent man who really really loved his pregnant girlfriend.

Nanny0gg · 02/03/2024 12:41

SecondUsername4me · 02/03/2024 10:54

Well, she didn't cheat on and then ditch her pregnant partner, so she isn't the problem. He is the cheat.

She knows he is a cheat, as he has priors. Maybe she doesn't care? Maybe she figures he was a "will do for now" marriage and any subsequent cheating would mean she gets to keep her extra child and her half of all their money and status.

But he is the cheat

I think she suits all white, and She can clearly afford beautifully made clothes, so always looks very smart.

Why is the woman never considered partly culpable when she willing goes with a man who already has a partner?

Rosindub · 02/03/2024 12:37

Fault of both (yes his 'fault' is greater)

Lavenderandbrown · 02/03/2024 12:46

@VictoriaPink yes I think this sums up the white. It’s a specific look and she curates this look. All white is so very very impractical and difficult to maintain She would look good in many colors the drive to wear it is beyond …looks good. Its part of her narrative

StaunchMomma · 02/03/2024 12:46

It is really true. It's widely known in F1 circles that she hung around the pit lanes and sidled up to F1 big-wigs to get close to him for years. We're talking a prolonged pursuit.

How anyone could see that toady twat as their 'prince charming' is beyond me, especially when it means him leaving his pregnant wife. Geri has invested so much time and effort into developing their public image of an idyllic family unit it's clear she puts a lot of weight on wat people think of her.

She should have seen this coming a mile off.

IncompleteSenten · 02/03/2024 12:46

She is responsible for her choices, he is responsible for his choices.
Her choice was (if this is even true) to have an affair.
His choice (if this is even true) was to have an affair while his partner was pregnant.
They are both shits if they did indeed do this but he's the bigger shit because he is the one who owed his partner his loyalty and yet he chose to betray his pregnant partner.

Well it was public knowledge at the time. So you can't love Geri that much. It's not really anyone's business though is it?

AIstolemylunch · 02/03/2024 12:53

It was highly publicised at the time though, yes.

viques · 02/03/2024 12:53

JJathome · 02/03/2024 11:37

He split with his ex a few months after the baby was born. As much as he was seen at races with Geri, they did not publicly start dating till a few months later. As in a few months after the split.

Edited

Oh that makes all the difference.

So essentially he was a single man with no emotional or moral ties to anyone? Fair does then to Geri, he was in a way like that unwanted bookcase someone leaves outside their garden wall with a sticker saying “ free to good home”.

Dearg · 02/03/2024 12:54

Gibs0nGirl · 02/03/2024 10:51

This. Sick of this hating the wife for the husband's sins.

You know what? She's not the most sympathetic of characters, but I do think she really loves him and must be humiliated, if not devastated.

I really can't get on board with 'he fucked up, well she had it coming' misogynistic bullshit.

Totally this. And let’s face it, she’s not the only woman, including presumably some on MN, who got together with a cheat, knowing he had that character flaw.

Fizbosshoes · 02/03/2024 12:56

If you have a talent and pursuing it means you become recognised, eg singer, actor, writer, musician, do you give up the right to a private life in every sphere?

For some people fame is a "side effect" of whatever their talent is, if its something in the public eye eg football.
For others I actually think fame is the goal. Sone people don't have an amazing talent eg Geri and VB - neither exceptional singers or dancers but both very ambitious and driven, and had the look that the Spice Girls manager wanted. I would say they are famous by choice rather than by accident...but that's not to say they shouldn't have a private life
