An album you loved as a teen that you still love

What album did you love as a teen, that you still love now. I don't really listen to album anymore, just the individual songs I like on Spotify. However one album I will listen to, from start to finish, in the correct order, on a regular basis is Greenday, American Idiot. There isn't one song on there I don't like. I love the flow of the album, and it reminds me of being young.

The Smiths - The Queen Is Dead
It was the first album I ever listened to that seemed to be speaking directly to me. Evidently thousands of teens felt the same! But for the awkward romantic bookish misfit type of child, it sounded semi-biographical and hit the target harder than anything else before or since.

Queen - Sheer Heart Attack
Sparks- A Woofer in Tweeter’s Clothing
The Jam - Sound Affects/Setting Sons

I didn’t discover many of the albums mentioned here until I was (much) older 😁

Maybe I should start a thread about albums you found/loved as an oldie and still love!

Breakaway - Art Garfunkel

Kings of the Wild Frontier by Adam and the Ants. I thought every track was amazing.

Marc and the Mambas - Untitled. I was a big Soft Cell fan and loved this first album from his then, new band. It's quirky.

Out come the wolves and life won't wait both by rancid. I do think TA's treatment of his ex wife has really cast a shadow over the band but I could still listen to those two albums every day of my life and never get bored.

Waitingfordoggo · 27/09/2024 20:21

Oh @Gobimanchurian, I absolutely loved Raw Like Sushi. We went to the USA when I was 11- a real holiday of a lifetime. I bought a Levi denim jacket and then we went to Tower Records where I bought Raw Like Sushi which I listened to on my Walkman for the rest of the holiday while wearing my denim jacket. I thought I was THE SHIT.
