I had two cases listed
Both serious sexual offences .
Neither could proceed .

Rape 1 : defendant was not produced from prison.

Rape 2 : no prosecutor available for trial.

You can talk about deporting criminals but it misses the point doesn’t it ?

I don’t think it’s beyond the realms of possibility. If you look up the steps to dictatorship they seem to be practicing a few of them and have been for quite a while, certainly through changes of leadership. I’m not entirely sure who the dictator would actually be in this case and start wandering down a conspiracy path at that point because all you can really do is speculate about particular donors who, for whatever reason, aren’t prepared to step into the limelight as an MP.

It’s also debatable how effective they’ve been. I’d like to think that the majority are pushing back but that may be my own bias from my personal position. It’s impossible to tell without a vote, unfortunately one of the areas a wannabe dictatorship would be inclined to manipulate. JRM has already admitted that their redrawing of constituency boundaries and requirements for ID when voting were attempts at this.

MP Jess Phillips reads out list of women killed by men in past year

Ahead of International Women's Day next week, a Labour MP recalled women killed in 2023-2024.

As she does every year, Jess Phillips named every woman, and listed some unknown women, killed in the UK in the past 12 months, where the primary suspect or known killer was a man.

The backbench MP, and former shadow minister for domestic violence and safeguarding, started by telling MPs that she had grown “tired and weary” of reading the list, despite it being an honour, and that half of the women on it could have been saved.
