I'm 5 ft 10 so will provide height and brute force.

Ha! Me too! Just posted.

Something beginning with C, isn't it? 🤔

I can think of a C word to fill that gap 😳😂

Piggywaspushed · 29/02/2024 15:55

I'm 5ft3 but I am Glaswegian which adds at least another seven inches of ferocity in each direction.

LittleBowSheep · 29/02/2024 15:56

Is Liz having a laugh?

She's had a pop at Starmer for mentioning her appearance at CPAC* *in PMQs yesterday. It's 'bizzare' that she doesn't realise that she is part of the threat she refers to and also 'bizarre' that she seems to think cosying up to the dregs of US society is a more valuable use of her time than working for her constituents.

New disability benefits bashing thread has popped up. Is Hunt going to announce cuts next week I wonder?

Cornettoninja · 29/02/2024 16:16

Lizzy should be thanking him for helping to keep her relevant. The woman is a joke, the only way she can be talked about in semi-serious circles is if referring to her lunacy. Bit like katie hopkins.

newnamethanks · 29/02/2024 16:17

There's no hope for rational statements from Truss, she's properly through the Looking Glass. And very lucrative she will be finding it.

itsgettingweird · 29/02/2024 16:18

I'm 5"7 and not small built 🫣 I'm also trained in restrictive physical intervention.

I'll move people out the way for you 😂

cardibach · 29/02/2024 16:31

Ooo I’ve done restraint training @itsgettingweird. We’ll be a formidable team. I am also rather the opposite of ‘small built’.

Let's see if "lifestyle choice" pops up again

I can well believe the rough sleeper numbers are significantly up. I've been dealing with rough sleeper issues at our branches since 2016 and we've never had so many as this winter and it's really widespread.

Saucery · 29/02/2024 16:56

We’re suburban but with pockets of woodland and farmland Homes England haven’t built all over yet. The number of little tents dotted about out of the way when I’m walking the dog has increased so much over the last few months.

tobee · 29/02/2024 17:10

I'm 5 ft 4 and was beginning to feel like a giant for once until the 5 ft 7 and above brigade started up!

I'll be quite good at standing behind @cardibach and @pointythings, shaking my fist and going "yeah!"

LittleBowSheep · 29/02/2024 17:13

I'm 5ft 6 (now in all directions). I'm combat-trained, restraint-trained and firearms-trained. But my knees are a bit dodgy these days.

DuncinToffee · 29/02/2024 17:21

Labour has no plans

so we nick 2

Hunt is debating proposals to extend the windfall tax on oil and gas companies

it’s on the list of revenue raisers if needed, along with non-doms

also has the political benefit of messing with Labour spending plans

At 4pm today, the Home Office is going to publish all 13 of these reports by the Independent Chief Inspector of Borders and Immigration, plus its annual report

Almost all are way over the eight-week deadline for publication, and will now be buried

I, and my fellow journalists, will try our absolute best to read and process and write about everything that the public need to know, but it won't be possible

We've also had the quarterly immigration stats today, and there is something big in this area embargoed until midnight

IClaudine · 29/02/2024 17:46

Meanwhile, Andrew Bridgen's tin foil hat tightens. Penny Mordaunt slaps him down nicely.

Exc: The government is pulling a vote on banning MPs accused of violent and sexual offences from parliament

It was due on Monday but Tory backbenchers incl Christopher Chope and Philip Davies are putting up a fight

x.com/estwebber/status/1763131209519870243?s=46&t=Uw4lJNwxFZFnX0Xs3doHYg

🙄

Chope and Davies are utterly horrible. Davies is in the constituency next to me and I hope he loses his seat. Who remembers the upskirting Bill?

cakeorwine · 29/02/2024 18:29

I am sure Labour has some tax plans / revenue raising plans that they are keeping very close to their chest.

L1ttledrummergirl · 29/02/2024 18:29

Just catching up on yesterday's PMQs, Sunak was dreadful. Surely he can be investigated for lying to parliament because he sure as he'll didn't remove 30p flee immediately as he said.

He doesn't seem to understand that he takes instructions from the house and feeds that through to representatives of Britain. Is he really so thick and self absorbed that he thinks the house works for him?

I would join the barricades with you all, but having been called a conspiracy theorist, I might just flounce instead.

In all seriousness, "The government is pulling a vote on banning MPs accused of violent and sexual offences from parliament"
On the day Jess Phillips reads the list of women killed by men.

Women are clearly high on this government's agenda.Hmm

Cornettoninja · 29/02/2024 18:49

Labour has no plans

should be followed by a panto style call of ’for us to nick’

Jason118 · 29/02/2024 18:50

I'm amazed they even know what a woman is!

Fascinating that they've chosen 4pm the day of a by election to publish these reports - it's almost as if they have something to hide.

Braverman has been tweeting about immigration conveniently forgetting that she was home secretary at some point
