Do you write 7 with a line through it?

I do. I don't know why.

I've just hand written a returns note for a parcel and thought 'why do I do that?'

I know it's used to differentiate between a 1 and 7 but my handwriting allows a good visual difference between the two numbers without the slash.

Yes I do.

I also put a loop in my 2.

I don't put a diagonal in my 0. Might start though.

I took a graphology book out of the library as a teenager and picked up all kinds of affectations and features in my writing!

Quite a few of them have stuck. Greek Es, curly zs and crossed 7s just a few. I always close my bs (wouldn’t wish to be thought of as not being able to keep a secret!).

As a teenager I liked to show off my introvert self with my backwards leaning writing. I’ve recently been teaching myself to lean forwards in my writing, just for a change!

I do.

Started as a teen/adult when writing my phone number on forms, to really distinguish between the 7 and the 1. Probably became more common because of mobile phones all beginning 07xxx

Yes. Helpful in a clinical environment as differentiates 1 and 7.

I do. I started when I was 11 because my German GCSE teacher (who was German) did it and I thought it was cool/interesting and it's stuck.

Yes I do, but I'm Irish. Was taught to in school. My parents age 80 don't,so I thought it was an age thing not a country thing. Surprised it is "cool" 😅

Yes-was told it was the French way when I was younger and took great pride in my calligraphy and fountain pen. Habit has just stayed 😀

I cross my 7s and my capital Zs.

I made the choice to start doing so to be more "European" when we joined the European Community in the early 70s when I was an early teenager.

There's a capital Z in my name so I use the Z cross-through a lot Grin (and no, in German it doesn't change the sound Wink).

It's 2nd nature to me now Smile

Iirc (it's a long time ago now Blush), I did try to start putting the serif onto the "one" for a while as well, but it never felt natural so I stopped.
