DSS selling condoms to classmates

Just after some opinions really. DSS is 15, in year 10. We've found out he's been buying condoms and selling them for £1 each to his mates. His mums not concerned. Should we stop him? I'm not sure how I feel about it.

I used to do that with floppy disks back in the day, mainly because I bought a 10 pack from Argos and other people showed an interest! clearly I was in the wrong market as I didn't sell many.
It never got shut down by any teacher, just the demand wasn't there. I remember my mum encouraging it, not that I kept it going really(one of my so called friends was jealous and another stole one and it got defects on it then wanted me to fix it, so it was a good introduction to retail)

His difficulty will be when the school find out and he has to have an embarrassing conversation with the headteacher about condoms. Years ago DS1 ran his own mini chocolate business in school based on the same principle, much to my concern. Mumsnet said 'don't worry about it, loosen up' ie many of the comments above. I tried to just leave him to it having expressed some disapproval that it was against the school rules and his risk. He got a telling off in the heads office when he was eventually (and inevitably) caught. Though at least he only had to discuss chocolate and not condoms. (I guess he will know many of the secrets of the year group won't he!)

Why would the conversation with the head be embarrassing?

Do they not just leave a bowl of them outside the medical room/school nurse's office, or did I have a particularly uncouth school cohort.

Why can’t they buy them themselves?

Is it as he is 15?

If 16 and having sex sounds like he is taking precautions

Ans making sure friends are so ......
