Who's awake tonight and why?

Basically that. I'm awake with no sign of sleep, this is already late for me as I'm usually asleep by 10.30 ISH but I'm just so sick with two different things and also anxious as fuck so I'm just listening to a podcast with headphones on while my son sleeps beside me and just trying to survive the night.

@TattedBarley It sounds so tough, I hope you see light at the end of the tunnel soon. I want to cry too, but it's too painful to do so.

In hospital with my 3 month old who it turns out has croup. Totally terrifying drive down country lanes listening to her deteriorating breathing, as I knew I would get us to hospital much faster than an ambulance could find our house. By the time we arrived she was mottled, her stomach was drawing in under her ribs and she was getting tired. The waiting room was full when we arrived but the receptionist heard her and before even speaking to us, within less than one minute there were 5 amazing, calm and competent people looking after her. She is getting better now and is asleep on me.

The nice HCA has given me a ham sandwich, orange juice and some quavers as I’m breastfeeding!

I'm awake, why? Insomnia, a dog with dementia and clearly the 2 hours I got last night was plenty!..... I have worked so hard today doing DIY, running errands I was positive I was going to be able to sleep, but nope, not a chance in hell.

I'm on a noisy hospital ward having left intensive care yesterday and just very restless and can't stop my thoughts.

Counting sheep is so overrated!

i’m Awake worrying about my 13 yr old who told me a load of stuff about herself last night. I took some action on her behalf and it’s not helped her.
Shes saying she can’t concentrate in class and can’t always control her actions and she feels like we don’t believe her. I feel like I usually known what to do but with this one I don’t !!

The SEN doesn’t think she has a problem. I feel a bit panicked about school and her future . She’s asked me to take a specific action, which I’m going to do. But otherwise I feel like we just need to see what happens .

I hate uncertainty and I’m doing some top level catastrophising

I woke up in pain after my gallbladder op yesterday and am waiting for the painkillers to kick in

Up thinking about care homes. Relative went into one recently (not the one I would have chosen) but then I had a call from social services saying relative needs to be moved.

Bit fed up of this.

Over the last couple of days I’ve had random patches of hives popping up. I’ve woke up tonight with a full body rash, hives and a swollen lip 😩

Stress being the trigger I think 😔

Now wide awake and have to leave the house at 7.15am for nursery drop off and work 😔

I am awake thanks to a particularly nasty bout of cystitis. Been sat in the bath topping up the hot water since 00:30 none of my usual tricks are working to flush it through.
Used the online 111 service to get some advice, nurse called me within 10 minutes told me no doctors after midnight so I have to keep doing what I'm doing until 8am and then call the G.P 😭

Oh my goodness @Boofips . It's dreadful that there's no doctor available until 8am. What's the point of the 111 service - something else not fit for purpose.

i'm at work...nhs HCA, only 4 and a half hours to go then sleep 😴

I haven't slept a wink I'm in uncomfortable dull pain down below and in and of the toilet all night with bladder pressure it looks like another uti starting up 😢
I just finished antibiotics two weeks ago for a urine infection and can't bear the pain of going through it again..have a history of them 😟

This was exactly my thinking.. I dont understand the point in having out of hours service if there isn't a single doctor available between midnight and 8am. No wonder a&e is flooded with daft ailments

we are moving to another country and have a visa appointment at 08.30am. Son’s visa possibly (info is uncertain) requires a signature from his abusive father. Son has no contact.

Father has refused to sign.

stressed out and hoping to find a solution at the appointment.

Chronic pregnancy insomnia. I haven’t slept more than 3 hours for 6 months and I’m losing my mind. Gp and midwife have told me there is nothing they can do. I work a highly stressful job and have a toddler. I might just collapse and die one day.

@Movingon2024 that sounds stressful, how old is your son? Does dad provide financially? I hope you find a solution.

I'm at my best friend's house for a half term sleepover with the kids. The fish tank in the living room is keeping me awake, have had around 2 hours of light sleep.. now fully awake again.

We’re on holiday , arrived yesterday, along with a tropical storm ! Had a 12 hour flight over night so no sleep then stupidly had a coffee after dinner so little sleep . Now it’s going mad out there !

I have a root canal in the morning so I'm not hugely surprised to be awake. I spent the last few hours in bed reading and trying to sleep but only got an hour's sleep. I had a root canal last week and this is the same tooth as the dentist was not successful so I am not hugely confident in his ability to get it done today.

Heavily pregnant and have indigestion. Also my dear dad passed away suddenly and unexpectedly over the weekend. He wasn’t even 60.
