Who's awake tonight and why?

Basically that. I'm awake with no sign of sleep, this is already late for me as I'm usually asleep by 10.30 ISH but I'm just so sick with two different things and also anxious as fuck so I'm just listening to a podcast with headphones on while my son sleeps beside me and just trying to survive the night.

I have a teething baby and I don’t sleep anymore.

I know your pain. At one stage during teething I actually said 'im not even attempting sleep any more, it's totally pointless' and I truly meant it! It will pass, but not tonight unfortunately.

Have not had enough slip for days now. Only managing to fall asleep after midnight and waking up before 7. Was so tired yesterday that had some wine with dinner hoping it would help me fall asleep earlier. It did but then I woke up at 11pm and have been awake since. Lots on my mind too

I wonder how many men of the world are up dealing with babies and worries and snorey Ddogs… or is it just us ladies?
My DP will insist how awful a night he had - when I know gammy well he has slept longer and better than me!! Grrrr

Awake with swollen joints Rheumatoid arthritis. Trying not to take meds as TCC. Wondering how I would even deal with the exhaustion of pregnancy if already this painful and tired with weakened system

I'm awake because my pattern has gone wrong again; probably won't sleep for a while.

Dh is on a sleeper down from Scotland so I'll be thinking of him but knowing I'll be waking up on and off until he gets in and back to bed for a couple of hours.

Sorry to hear about people feeling unwell or anxious etc. Hope pleasant sleep finally arrives. Flowers

I'm up as baby DD is back to only sleeping if she's being held. Starts crying and thrashing around the second she's put in her cot. And I think I have tonsillitis 🫠

The cat (check out my username) is right next to me purring. This time of night when the house is quiet she sounds like a road drill. She also looks super cute when sleeping so I don't want to move her. We call her nurse cat. She's a right cow usually but she knows when somethings not right and will sit by you purring and giving you fusses. I was ill just before Christmas and she didn't leave my side for 2 days. I even got followed to the toilet by the sodding cat.

The cat is only in my bedroom because I'm having a ME flare at the moment and I am in too much pain and too uncomfortable to sleep. I'm also too uncomfortable to get up to shut my door to keep the cat out. I'm waiting for the pain meds to do their thing and the cat to either shut up or piss off.

Possible culinary mischief here, in the shape of eating undercooked rice. Bloody recipe, I knew it didn’t have enough liquid, and now I feel really uncomfortable. Luckily I didn’t have too much of it. I managed to fall asleep as I was feeling tired, but I’ve just woken up with shoulder pain and indigestion. I don’t want to read about the side effects of eating undercooked rice, but my mind is going on a little wander of its own torturing me with hints of swollen intestines and perforations; wasn’t it once used as a method of torture?

Am thinking of putting Prof Brian Cox on in the background as I find his voice very calming, almost verging on sleep-inducing.

How daft this all is!

I must have an allergy (just come out of hospital) and my legs and torso are bright red and so itchy I can’t sleep. Agony!

I can’t sleep because my 14-yr old daughter is being so horrid at the moment. She’s changed from being a sweet, affectionate girl into a cold, selfish and obnoxious so-and-so. It’s kind of breaking my heart as it feels like she’s slipping away from me. I know it’s not uncommon for teen girls to be like this but I feel so unprepared for it. My older daughter has been much easier and has always remained loving.
Just agonising over how to parent her…

Hope you all get some sleep soon people!

I've got horrible post op pain from surgery a couple of weeks ago. Im counting down the minutes until i can have more codeine. The only way I can be comfortable is half sitting/lying on the sofa and even that is painful.

In addition my DM is very ill in hospital - on end of life care - and there are all sorts of thoughts about that going through my mind.

I'm trying to distract myself watching Spooks on Drama channel.

While I got the washing done

Now I'm under the covers with my cat under the covers with me and the other cat slightly further down on top of the covers!

Me. DH jolted me out of guided sleep meditation with his snoring which left me wide awake.

Ive been on the sofa nearly 3hrs can still hear the snoring over Judge Judy on the telly. Also have the start of what feels like tonsillitis so lots of throat pain.

Off work with stress/depression due to life falling apart levels of shit with ASD DC. About to go to half pay. Last night I found out I might have been scammed out of about 20k during an asset sale so didn't sleep until I gave into the diazepam. Tonight I'm exhausted but apparently my bath leaks. Found out when alarm was making weird noises and on investigating a load of fuses had tripped. Then found the water coming through the kitchen light. Have spent the last three hours doing the clean up and now trying to come down from the adrenaline enough to sleep.

Partly pain. I am experiencing a lot of pain, but getting nowhere with it.

Partly breastfeeding, which woke me initially. Though I now have a sleeping angel softly snoring beside me who I could just snuggle to death. Only I know that any unauthorised touching will result in waking. Cuddling must only be done when demanded. So I will just enjoy smelling baby after a bath smell and try and get some sleep before hit with further demands for food!

Been signed off work for a while and go back today, when I’m not really ready. Pressure from work to return - each week I’ve been asked to attend a return to work, so it’s got to the point where I feel I have to go back.

Sat here dreading it.

At my wits end with sleep deprivation. My daughter is 1.5 and has never been a good sleeper, I’m a lone parent so we co sleep. Wakes multiple times a night. Going through a sleep regression where the wakes are worse and she will only be settled by me sat upright holding her until she falls back to sleep. This can be anywhere from half an hour to 2 hours. She also has a mild cough, back to back from the last nursery illness she caught. I can’t remember the last time I didn’t feel exhausted but now I am broken. The last 3 nights I’ve just cried while I hold her. Currently fighting the urge to cry. I don’t know how I’m supposed to work, study and be a functioning mum. I feel like I’m dying and I don’t know what to do.
