How to look as amazing as Pippa Middleton in a bikini?!?

Not a goady thread just genuinely want to know how to look as toned and in such good shape. Am the same age as Pippa. Just saw some photos of her on the DM (don’t judge) and she looks absolutely fantastic. Healthy but so fit. I would not look so good in a bikini. What do I need to do?!?

Although, just looked up the pics and she doesn’t look THAT unusually amazing tbh. Totally lovely and very fit of course. But pretty normal, I have friends who look like that. So maybe more achievable than I was imagining. I do not envy her her hairy pale husband though 😄

Also disagree with PP that she has nothing in her life other than improving how she looks. That seems an extremely reductive conclusion.

Highly unnecessary comment about her husband. And horrid to criticise his skin tone. Every skin colour is beautiful and it’s about time we stop shaming others for the literal skin they were born in.

Yousay55 · 17/02/2024 22:36

I’d love to look as amazing as she does but I sadly enjoyed an Indian takeaway for dinner and no doubt I’ll eat a few of the children’s min eggs tomorrow. I need to put a lot more effort in!

You need huge amounts of wealth and unlimited leisure, hot and cold running personal trainers and dieticians.

No you don't! Granted, all of this would certainly help ME achieve a body like hers, but my two best friends have a body like hers and they have none of the things you've listed!

And size 12 isn't tubby

On me it quite definitely is!

ItsallIeverwanted · 17/02/2024 22:42

I don't know what I expected to see after this thread but I think she looks good, indeed great for a mum of three, and he looks trim and nice too, none of which is surprising as they are wealthy, oriented around exercise and look like they are enjoying themselves!

Noseybookworm · 17/02/2024 22:43

Be very rich and able to afford nannies/chef/personal trainer?

Hate the way that pale skin is deemed fair game these days. God forbid any other skin tone be criticised. Can’t believe ANY colour is being maligned in 2024.

Stay away from the chocolate Hobnobs

Pallisers · 17/02/2024 22:52

She looks very healthy. I think in her case a lot is down to exercise. She and her sister and her mother have a similar body type and I suspect they all love to exercise. I know many women (including my sister) who would have looked similar to - or better than - that at 40. My sister still has that body shape and wears a bikini at 60. I'm kind of taken aback that people think it is a body type only achievable by marrying a billionaire. weird.

and the comments about her husband ... so mean. including the comment that he married her to be william's brother in law.

Starseeking · 17/02/2024 22:55

Eat less, do more exercise, probably sums it up.

Yes. And why? Because we’re following social fashion that say you have to be a particular way. Now you have to have a tan…ten years ago you had to be pale. Soon it will be something else. It’s all based on money - us plebs not realising that a tan is desirable right now because it makes others imagine we’ve been hanging out on a beach in the sun. 200 years ago it was lead paint to ensure it looked like you never saw the sun. It’s all grotesque. We tell ourselves these ideals actually DO look better, but as soon as the fashion changes our mind changes. Just look at the kardashians and how when they had huge bums and big boobs everyone started to think that really did look ‘best’. Now they’re super skinny and everyone’s starting to thing this does look ‘best’.

We spend so much of our time as parents trying to teach our children to love themselves whoever they are and whatever they look like but then people choose to spend their time criticising others for something as normal and unchangeable as a skin tone. To comment on anyone being too pale, too dark, too whatever… well other people read this and then feel shame for their skin. Feel ugly. When we comment negatively publicly on one person’s appearance, we crush the self-esteem of a whole load more.

I agree with you - how is skin tone still something people think they can comment on. Why would you want to?! It’s skin. It’s all beautiful and necessary and a huge part of what makes us unique.

PaminaMozart · 17/02/2024 23:04

It is eminently achievable but requires some effort, discipline and commitment, though very little money:

  • walk (at a brisk pace) as much as possible
  • work out 30-40 minutes 5-6 time week: cardio, core/abs, weights/dumbbells
  • eat a healthy, Mediterranean type diet
I'm 70 and living proof... Though I don't quite have PM's body, I can still get away with wearing a bikini.

Bennettsister · 17/02/2024 20:42

Ok so either I need to marry a billionaire or just exercise more…at the moment with two small children I just can’t find the time to exercise. But then maybe I just need to make time if I want to look good. Feeling very out of shape at the moment.

I actually found I was very fit with two small children; I used them as a workout.
Picking them up, pushing a pushchair as quickly as possible, playing chasing games where you run after them and swing them around when you catch them.
They adored physical games and I got lots of exercise.

Teenagehorrorbag · 17/02/2024 23:44

I have a friend (mid 50s) who looks amazing in a bikini! She has always worked full time but outside of that she cycles and sails (always has), and just obviously keeps very fit and active. She loves her food and enjoys wine - I'm sure she has never dieted in her life. She is also very tall and has obviously good genes.

I'm short and squidgy and not very fit. I eat reasonably-ish - but I know I don't do enough exercise these days and everything is getting saggy. I really think it's all about an active lifestyle rather than food. In my previous job I walked miles every day - to and from trains, between offices, all striding out - and was up at 6 and home at 7, so probably burned loads of calories without noticing. I left to have DCs and never re-created that level of activity. I garden and do pilates once a week, but that's nothing. I'd never wear a bikini now.

It's all about lifestyle and exercise. Plus good genes, and maybe having enough money to work out instead of e.g. sit in an office would also help!

Teenagehorrorbag · 17/02/2024 23:47

Plus obviously not too many takeaways or processed meals.......

PM probably has a chef!

coxesorangepippin · 17/02/2024 23:53

She's just very slim

minipie · 18/02/2024 00:03

No, she’s not just very slim, she’s got fairly well developed muscles too if you look at her arms and legs. Lots and lots of exercise as well as not eating a scrap more than needed.

DrCoconut · 18/02/2024 00:04

Diastasis recti ruined my figure post DC. I can diet, exercise etc all I like but I will still look like Humpty Dumpty. I've just learned to live with it. I guess if you're wealthy you can have it fixed (not saying PM has btw, just a general observation) due to having private surgery and childcare, cleaners etc while you recover. Money really is key.

minipie · 18/02/2024 00:08

I wonder if diastasis recti is less likely for women who are tall. Everyone I know who’s had DR has been quite short and has had an enormous bump as a result. Suspect having abs of steel before pregnancy helps too (I def did not).

I wouldn't envy her figure because it's not very feminine IMO. Her figure is athletic, which is unsurprising as she's been sporty since she was young (sports scholarship to Marlborough) and has kept up her passion for it ever since, hence the muscles and lack of body fat.

If you're more feminine (curvy) why would you want to be flat chested with footballer's legs? If you just want to be toned and lose some fat, there are loads of free exercise videos on youtube, cut down on carbs, cut out sugar & booze. The most envious thing about her is her discipline to keep herself slim and fit and I'm not convinced that's mainly to do with money but of course it would help to buy yourself the time to weight train / run / swim etc.

How is her body not feminine? She’s female. It’s the absolute definition of feminine!

what you mean is, she’s not all boobs and bum a la the Kardashian’s. Instead she has a healthy non surgically enhanced figure, all respect to her I think she looks great.

I didn't say her body isn't feminine. I said it isn't VERY feminine and it isn't.

I'm not appreciating you telling me what I mean so please don't do it again.

I do not think feminine is "all boobs and bum like the Kardashians", it's just more curvy than a boy's / man's figure.

Goldfinchtriad · 18/02/2024 00:29

She’s not a boy/ a man. So she doesn’t have a boy/ a man’s figure. She has a perfectly healthy woman’s figure

Strokethefurrywall · 18/02/2024 00:41

I look similar and I'm 44.
Prioritizing exercise, prioritizing a decent diet 90% of the time. Genetics plays a part, as does body shape. I'm a natural mesomorph which responds well to exercise, resistance training and cardio and I love working out so that helps.

But womens bodies come in all shapes and sizes.
And in some parts of the world women are generally very lean and lacking curves?
So how can you just point to one specific shape and say that that's what's feminine and that other body shapes are not very feminine?

Also why the need to say that it's more curvy than a 'boys' figure? I hate when people say that women who don't have a hugely curvy figure look like boys, why not say girl in that case? because neither boys or girls would have curvy bodies, saying boy or man is like trying to degrade woman for not having curves

GinaB8 · 18/02/2024 04:07

Naturally athletic shape so genes.

Lifetime of being active as a way of life and enjoying it which has prob created “muscle memory” or muscle that’s difficult to shift even in periods of inactivity - although I’m sure she doesn’t have any.

Lifetime of never being overweight so no loose skin or flabbiness to contend with.

Huge wealth of her husband. She will likely do a lot of different forms of exercise and has the time to do this due to not having to work (conventionally) and at least having a nanny - probably even more support that’s been bought.

Eating well over her life. I think it’s very hard to look like that when your diet is mostly junk.
