Good Morning Mumsnet! What's everyone up to today?

I'm just about to drink my first cuppa, in my kitchen spot. It's just me up at the moment, although I think I hear dd2 moving about, so lovely and peaceful.

I'll put the washer on shortly, and wash up the few pots there are. We had a cleaning morning in the week so the house is still alright. Hoover needs a swish round but that's a quick job with the new one, and there are a few little jobs to be done - bring old hoover down, put up utensil hooks & look for a taller spice rack, and work out why dd2's middle drawer doesn't open already. Probably something I did when building the bedside cabinet 🤷‍♀️

We're off to town for a few things today - won't be out long or buying much though. I have peg people I really need to finish for Tuesday & that's looking less and less likely 🙈 it'll be fine if they're a day later than I'd planned though.

Tea will be something easy from the freezer. Followed by a shower and early night for me after a bit of some sort of crafting, or my book. I might look up some bracelet tutorials for some of our friendship bracelets for the Eras tour, or I might brush out some more of my tangled jacket I want to add beaded tassels to 🤔 we'll see.

Dd2 will no doubt get up to watch someone stream Adele from Vegas, and dd1 wanted to finish the last of her homework before going to see The 1975, tomorrow night, so she'll probably do that.

Off to the woods today for hammock and a picnic!

DH has just left to drop DD at drama club- I'm waiting for my toenails to dry! Have gone for silver to brighten my mood!
Then I'm going to crack on with my half term to do list! Need to sort the garage at some point!

Having my nails done this morning. Was meant to go on Tuesday but I was absolutely hanging, luckily my nail lady is a good friend and the swap actually works out better for her. Then dropping my daughter off at the theatre to see a show with the Brownies and heading to a neighbouring town to meet up with an old school friend who I have not seen for years.

Good morning, I’ve actually made it when it’s still morning.

I’ve got a rugby game today, like the UK we’re experiencing very mild weather, its lovely and sunny here. While I’m at rugby my husbands taking the smalls swimming and then to get fitted for new shoes, which they will both moan about.

This afternoon we’re going to his grandmas house and staying the night, we likely won’t do a great deal when we’re there, but it will be lovely to see her.

DH taking DD1 to her boyfriends so she can go watch him play football.

I'm planning a trip into town for a demo, buying burgers for tea and going to an opera last minute, need to buy tickets this morning.

First, I need ibuprofen and to get a wading on.

Currently lying in bed, thinking about all the laundry I need to do....

have loads to get sorted around the house and have to do the online mandatory training for work (fun times). but probably will end up vegetating in bed for much of the day

Wee granddaughter over for a "sleepover", shes still asleep. I've had tea and toast while catching up on progs from last night while tv was going full tilt on her programmes!. Whens she's up it, ll be more of the same while I get her breakfast ready. Then showers and ready on the bus to town where I do hand over to her other Gran. Think they, re going for pancakes. I love having her, it's the highlight of my week.

Need to go and buy a wedding card this morning, I may also swing by SpaceNK for a browse and then I’m going to clear out some cupboards in the afternoon. Dh is taking ds to play snooker and dd2 is at work.
Currently though just lying in bed appreciating my lovely tidy bedroom and enjoying the breeze from the windows I’ve just flung open.
Think we might be going out for dinner tonight.

I have done my first full week at work for a long while. New job so I'm knackered from both the hours and the concentrating on learning everyone's names and the role. Ive woken up with a cough and a sore throat to boot. We are child free this weekend and have a nice day out in London planned so will get up, dose up and get ready shortly. No idea where we are going, it's a surprise from DH so no idea what to wear!

Dh has just taken the dogs for a walk and is downstairs poaching some eggs.

I'm still in bed with the small Dog who has snuck back in and made a nest at the end of the duvet, but will get up soon.

Waiting to hear how dd2's date went last night. Her boyfriend took her to dinner at the Shard no less and even paid extra for a window table The best I did aged 16 was a Happy Meal in McD's so she is winning! She was very nervous and took ages deciding what to wear. She stayed at her Dads last night so looking forward to hearing all about it later.

Having a cleaning and sorting out the house kind of day, as Dd and I are away next week for half term so need to get on top of it all.

Dropping Dd off at her friend’s house later and then heading out with some mums from school for dinner. Looking forward to that!

You are always so busy @lucysmam you make me feel really lazy, especially when you have been ill.

Start of half term here, so I'm off all week, DS has GCSE mocks when he goes back, so I am a revision supervisor 👀 👀
It also means there is no rushing this weekend to get jobs done, so I'm still in bed.

DH and DS will be off to a rare 4pm football match, and I'm going to see my mum. Easy tea, tv, and a glass of wine tonight.

Lots of jobs planned for the week, so a chilled one today

Good morning Lucysmam and others. I've had two coffees, been to Aldi and put a washing on. I've had a bit of toast too. Shortly I'm heading out to meet a friend for breakfast. When I eventually get back, I'll crack on with the housework and the rest of the washing. It's only me so it won't take long and the housework is easy too. Then steak and chips for dinner later as a treat. Enjoy your day

Good morning all. I'm sick as a dog. Going on holiday tomorrow morning and have not even started packing. Any tips on getting out of bed without crying would help!

@goingdownfighting stay in bed a bit I would. I find pressure packing always goes better anyway. A time constraint focusses the mind! Have a sleep and do it this evening when you hopefully feel better.

A walk with DH over the local woods, friend may pop in on way home from her half term holiday if she has time as she passes near us later afternoon. Out for a curry with another couple tonight. I am designated driver but I am not a big drinker and it makes the whole outing easier. They live not too far away but in the sticks.

I feel really rough with a cold and sore throat. I’m on call this weekend so going to go in shortly, hopefully won’t be too long and then coming back to bed!! DD has gone to Futsal and DH has taken her

Good morning lucysmam & everyone. Had a cuppa made by DH & am still in bed, although getting up for shower/hair wash when DH has finished in the bathroom. I have tummy ache (struggling a bit as I heal from keyhole surgery a couple of weeks ago). On antibiotics as the wound got infected. Not much planned for today. I watched 2 episodes of “ Too Good To Be True”, a psychological drama on Channel 5, & will watch the final 2 episodes this morning. It was pretty good. I’ll probably write to my Aunty. We used to exchange letters regularly when I was a child & have recently started again. My Uncle died just before Christmas so she appreciates it even more. DD15 is at her girlfriend’s, due back early evening. I already have the veg sorted for tea as I prepared it on Thursday then didn’t want to cook! Only need to pop chicken breasts in foil with dried sage. Having them with double cream mash, broccoli & petipois. Will watch Gladiators tonight then maybe a film.

Good morning everyone. Just me and dd9 up here and dh is at work. I’m sitting on the sofa with a cup of tea waiting for my food shop which is due any minute. I’ve tidied around downstairs, put a wash on and unloaded the dishwasher.

I need to clean the rest of the house today then take dd16 and dd9 to get some passport photos and renew their passports. Dd9 is going to her school friends around 1pm and coming home around 6 ish and the two elder ones have agreed to babysit tonight whilst me and dh go into Liverpool for tea, a few drinks and to watch a comedy show before getting the last train home - we’ve not been out since before Christmas so I can’t wait!

I'm waiting for my carer to bob in later this morning to sort me out for the week. She normally comes on a Friday, so now I'm all confused!

Amazon delivered most of the 'ingredients' for my new hobby attempt following a weekend course I went on. Lino printing! Can't wait to get going. I very, VERY nearly added @lucysmam peg people blanks to my order but I restrained myself! One new thing at a time, Hat, and repeat and remind!

Turtle also needs a scrub today, so my fabulous carer will help me with that. It's a lot of carting water about! And a toothbrush!

Oh! And I've just remembered I need to empty the dishwasher. Bleurgh.

I'm binge watching law & order SVU as I've just had a cataract removed and can't do much.

Dh and Ds2 have gone to tesco (and Costa probably). Ds1 is in his pyjamas racing cars in between talking to his mates on WhatsApp and I am drinking strong black coffee and avoiding the laundry.

Today's plan, if the mist rises, is to sort the broken cowl on the chimney pot as water is getting into the house. Dh has brought the roof crawler ladder home but he's avoiding the prospect as long as he can get away with it.
